  Setting record Quality with HD-PVR-1212
Posted by: johnsmallberries - 2009-12-15, 01:40 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Is there a way to define High, Med, Low quality for the 1212?
I don't see a way to do this in the AnalogHD.ini.
Thanks.

  subtitle woes can't turn off
Posted by: thankfulluser - 2009-12-15, 01:18 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Folks,

I know this horse has been beat to death, but I can't find the magic to get rid of subtitles(AKA:Close Captioning) text in my DVD playback. It does it on a DVD movie disk and on ripped movies.

Here are my installed Video Decoders:
ffdshow Video Decoder
MainConcept (HCW)MPEG-2 Video Decoder
Nero Video Decoder
Nero DVD Decoder
ffdshow raw video filter
roxio DCFilters Mpeg I/II Decoder

I have tried them all as set specific with no luck.

I can pull the same movies up in like "KMPLAYER" and in "NERO Showtime" and they play with no subtitles like they are suppose to.

Any assistance would be great. Thanks!!!

PCTV HD mini stick (80e) and anaolog cable
Posted by: topdirtycop - 2009-12-15, 01:06 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Well, I asked my wife to go to Radio Shack and buy me a Huappage and mail it to me here in Guantanamo. She did not, instead she bought me a PCTV HD mini stick (80e).

My problem is here on our little island is that we only have analog signal for any type of cable/broadcasting. The 80e was designed only for digital.

Is there any third party software/firmware/plugin that will allow me to use the 80e to detect the analog signal? Does gbpvr have a plug in to help with my problem?

Thanks in advance!

  Directv.exe not working?
Posted by: jljgreene - 2009-12-14, 05:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I would like to try and find a solution to my channel changing control issue. I had a working system that correctly changed channels through the serial ports on my (2) D10-1000, using the one integrated com port on the motherboard, and an add-on com port through pci slot. Anyway my motherboard died, and I repalced it with a new t-series Biostar board with the basic same configuration as before (win xp pro, .net 3.5, gbpvr 1.47) Now the directv.exe utility will not change channels on their respective d10's. The windows executable directv change control works perfectly, but the command line version will not.

I have run the debug version as stated in cheval earlier posts and have those log files, if anyone is interested. Any help would be greatly .appreciated http://forums.gbpvr.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

All HDTV channels deliver "no signal"
Posted by: aesn5 - 2009-12-14, 11:26 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (23)

Hi,

I have two TV tuner cards, a TerraTec Cinergy C PCI HD and a Techotrend C-1501 Budget. Both are configured and working without any problems when watching SD channels. But for HDTV it's a different case: every time I use the TerraTec card to switch to a HDTV channel the "no signal" error appears. That happens on various HDTV channels on various transponders. But if I use the Technotrend card, it works without a flaw.

Is there something I can do to solve this problem? I have added my logs: the last log was created when I used the TerraTec card to switch to a HDTV channel ("ARTE") and the log before when I used the Technotrend card. By the way when I use the "Config" program and click on such a HDTV channel I can hear audio but no video is displayed, with both cards. SDTV channels are displayed correctly.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
aesn5

windows mce remote question windows xp
Posted by: Spiralking - 2009-12-14, 04:49 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (8)

Sorry, total noob here. I am trying to get my computer to work as a dvr, and have been looking into getting a remote for the computer.

I have a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 150 card, but the one that came without the remote. I am currently running windows xp pro, SP3. I need a remote that will work with gbpvr, and at the same time control the set top box from direct tv. I have looked on ebay and have found mce remotes that come with a remote, receiver and blaster.

my question is, i don't have windows xp mce 2005 installed. Can i use this remote without having mce installed? Can i get it configured to run with gbpvr?

Thanks guys

  Wiki Glossary Christmas Calendar
Posted by: steeb - 2009-12-14, 02:32 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Documentation (legacy) - Replies (22)

Well all I've asked Santa for this year is to sort out the GBPVR Wiki Glossary page that some of us have worked very hard on here:

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manual/Glossary

It is now 'live' in as much as it is listed in main index under manual with a link to glossary.

I worked out that with the missing entries if we could fill a letter a day that would take us up until Christmas Eve. Then I could relax on the 25th.

I know that most don't bother with documentation threads but in Christmas spirit! Anyone?

All charity knowledge and word donations most warmly welcome with a virtual mince pie.

We're starting with C for Christmas:

Missing entries:

CAM - Conditional Access Module {more info needed?}. Also see SoftCAM.
Capture Card - {more info needed?}
CI - Common Interface {more info needed?}

Please fill in the C's? Just post it, PM it, I'll put it in unless you want to tweak Wiki yourself!

Cheers

Steeb

  *VideoLibrary* thumbnails
Posted by: Y0tsuya - 2009-12-14, 02:17 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

OK I mistakenly called VideoLibrary "Video Archive" in my last thread and it got moved to nosupportland. Actually the issue is with the built-in VideoLibrary. If it's still being supported, please continue reading.

I have a corresponding jpg for each directory and media file in VideoLibrary so that VideoLibrary can display their thumbnails. After I drill a few levels down and navigate around for a while, VideoLibrary would invariably start "forgetting" thumbnails. Thumbnails that were displayed previously went blank. I had to restart gbpvr for the thumbnails to be displayed again. Anyone else see this problem?

My Mistake and Now GBPVR Won't Work
Posted by: mototom - 2009-12-14, 01:15 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I have been running GBPVR on a couple of client machines for about a year. Today I decided to conform the two and up loaded the FFMpeg codecs and uninstalled the old CC??? codecs. The FFMpeg codecs are what I am using on the host and the other client.

Now I can not get MP4 files to play at all. They start and then stop immediately without showing any video or audio. My MP2 files have audio but no video.

I tried a complete uninstall then reinstall and I still have the same result.

Any help will be appreciated. Logs attached.
