I first tried the CSI version of mvpmcx 2.2.7. The webservice always gave me a error, so I went with the dummyguide via the sticky.

I got everything working, loaded up the interface on my NMT and celebrated for a second. But it was short lived, as I quickly noticed Live TV, just left me with a black screen. I checked my Live directory on my pc, and there was a file being created there (was around 80megs and growing). So where did I go wrong and how do I fix it

Get QAM channels working
Put the Dual tuners to use.
Get them all working on the NMT.

Edit: Got the CSI version working. For some reason it needs the default usenet service running. But still have the Blackscreen when trying Live Tv.
Also, make sure you do not have lighthttpd installed. It fubars something that makes this stop working.

Is anybody using the StartPVRX2 in windows 7. It seems to me like, if i play a dvd in PVRX2, it puts PVRX2 in front of the dvd that is currently playing!?

This is not the case if i just open PVRX2 from the startmenu without the StartPVRX2. Maybe some of the AUTOIT commands is translated differently on windows 7?

So, I got one of these cards to archive some of my HDCP recordings.
It's go HDMI in, up to 1080i along with HD component, composit, s-video etc.
It's also got a BDA DVB-T tuner, and an analog tuner.

The HD & Analog side of things are not usable in GBPVR obviously.

I had it in my HTPC, but the dual core 2.9 didn't cut it for the software encoding on the fly.
The device will encode a HDCP 1080i stream to 15 Mbps mpeg2.
On my quad core, 2.6 it took 25% of cpu wqhile doing this. The motion was not as crisp as original playback, so not as great for sports as I had hoped.

The manual of the device says it will not record HDCP content over HDMI, but I will able to get to record a HD recording of the all whites game & some of CSI new York from TV3 via myskyHD -

I thought that TV3 had the copy protect flag set - which is why it downgrades over component to my bedroom TV, where Sky Sports HD transmits at 1080iu still. (so I thought the TV3 stuff would fail with HDCP problems)
It can real-time encode to H264, but only up to 720x576 - more made for an ipod capture.

I have re-encoded the rsulting mpeg2 from the football to H264, 4200MB MKV, and then made that into a Bluray structure and chucked it on a DVD which my standalone bluray plays nicely. (looks not too bad, same small problems with motion)

So, while the HDMI capture is not as good as I thought, as they release new versions of the mpeg2 encoder, it may get better - but does act as the only way of getting content for archiving from the myskyHD box.

The HDMI / Component capture devices do not seem to be available as normal devices in windows - ie, not visible in graph studio - only the DVB-T & analog tuner (+ s-vid, composite)

Can anyone tell me what the capture over component of 1080i sports is like using the HD-PVR from hauppauge? Is it reliable?

Since my Nova T 500 has been accepted as faulty by Ebuyer but they have no stock to replace it with, I'm wondering what to use. My board has 2 x PCI and 1 x PCIe slots. I read in another thread good reports on Pinnacle but when I went looking they'd transferred TV cards to Hauppauge who seem to be losing the plot - flakey drivers and misleading descriptions like the HVR4000 - quad tuner (but you can only use on at a time). Anyone tried the Asus My Cinema or I see there's a PEAK dual card?

So I know Comcast stuff has been covered, but what I'm wanting to do is a little different, and I haven't been able to get things to work.

First, there are two different boxes that Comcast supplies. One is the set top box that gets On Demand. The other is a digital adapter, which only translate the digital signal to an analog signal. Can both be used with GBPVR?

I would like to set up GBPVR to work with the set top box. My thought was to take the cable line from the wall to the box, out from the box to a splitter, which will go to both the GBPVR machine and my TV. Does this sound like it can be done? What settings are required in GBPVR in order to read this signal.

Now, I'm not looking for HDTV, and I'm just looking to record shows, which will then be burned on another computer, or watched and deleted. I am planning on just using the mouse and keyboard to control the GBPVR computer.

hello - sometimes I can get a perfect Fox recording, sometimes I just get multiple 0KB files appearing. All other channels appear to be fine...

I use client server over a wireless g network from my laptop to my media PC under my TV. I appreciate I can't stream content over wireless g but I use it to browse, set and cancel recordings etc.
I have it set up working fine and is quite nippy except for when you set a recording or cancel a recording. Why is this? It freezes for 20 seconds and then completes and carries on. Cheers.

I have read through previous threads on this, and it seems not to apply to my problem. Here's the issue:

--I come out of standby by pressing the power button on the PC.
--Rather than seeing the GBPVR main menu (from which I entered standby), I see the XP desktop with this error message: "Sorry, this system does not support the required VMR9 video render." Actually, the system throws up TWO of those error messages, one on top the other.
--So I turn on my main PC (since my GBPVR PC is in the entertainment center with no KB/mouse), fire up VNC, close each of the two error message boxes, click on my "StartGBPVR" utility icon, and GBPVR launches just fine. We proceed to watch recorded shows without a problem.
--This occurs only intermittently - maybe once every five times I come out of standby.
--I also hear a little "pop" sound typically made by those little XP balloon messages from the taskbar, but by the time I fly up to try to read it, it disappears. Tonight I caught a brief glimpse, and (I think) I saw the word "power".

This system records shows without a hitch, play-back is flawless, and episode guide updates are working great. There's no other problem that I'm aware of - everything is working very well - except this.

Tonight CSI NY failed to record. I see in teh recordingservice native log that it started, and immediately stopped 2009-12-09 20:58. Looks like identical thing happened to Rachel Ray at 13:58. No failure indicated. In PVRX2, no indication of a failed recording, nothing in pending, whats new, or ready. Just gone. Go to live TV and both channels in question work. Millionaire at 11:28 also same story. Prior night, NCIS recorded fine.

Some reason a stop recording occurring immediately after start, and no record of ever trying.

Now I see in the recordingservice log that it failed:

Error starting recording: System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.

I restarted recordingservice, things seem OK.

This I think happened one other time recently. Will work for days or even weeks, then just up and fail, but no indications other than plain old missing files.

Any ideas?
