The preview window when I'm mapping digital to EPG has audio but no video. What log files or info can I provide to help with debug? It behaves the same after mapping a channel and trying to watch in Live TV; it also doesn't show the blue background/white text info bar at the bottom.
I've been using gbpvr for years and this problem just starting happening not to long ago. When I use gbpvr I have a 2 second black screen flash in front of the screen. This happen when ever the program is on. If I'm playing a recording, watching live tv, or just scrolling through the tv guide or selections on the home page. It wasn't happening as often before, but it seems to be getting worse. It flashes every few minutes. It only happens with gbpvr and no other programs. Any ideas? Thanks
My system has the DVB-T 500 dual turner card and it is set up like this
Device 1 is Happauge Nova -T 500 DVB-T (1)
Device Number 1
channels mapped are One,TV2, TVNZ6 TVNZ 7 (these all transmit on C48)
Device 2 is Happauge Nova -T 500 DVB-T (2)
Device Number 1
channels mapped are TV3, C4 (these all transmit on C50)
The issue I'm having is that if I am recording, the turner for that device seems to be inactive for watching live TV e.g.
If I am recording TV3, I can watch only live channels on Device 1, if I try to change the channel to TV3 or C4 all I get is a black screen. The recordings work fine as while a recording is happening on say TV3 I can go into Recording under pending and start watching it.
Same is for the reverse if I was recording TV2 (or any on C48) I can live watch any other C48 channels
I make the following changes to the TV Listing skin each time it is reissued. I think they apply to a large group of users and would like to see them incorporated into the basic TV Listing skin.
The first change is to change the time span to 180 minutes rather than 120 minutes.
<NamedValue name="ListingsMinutes" value="180"/>

Unfortunately, this does not make all the changes needed for a three hour display. While there are position commands for a two hour display they do not exist for a three hour display. I made the following change to the skin.
Although I show the entire CompositeImage section, the change I made was to add the 3Hr commands. It would be best if the skin automatically chose the appropriate DrawText commands based on the previous ListingsMinutes parameter but having the commands so the user just has to remove the comment command from the desired statements would be a simple way to make the current skin display three hours of programs.
The second change I make just selects parameters to display a program that is scheduled to be recorded in a solid red box.
The third change is to display the channel number and logo. I'm including the whole CompositeImage for the ChannelHeader to show where the changes are made. I use the DrawText to display the channel number and the DrawImage to display the channel logo.
<CompositeImage name="ChannelHeader" size="14,8.5">
<DrawCommonImage name="TextBackground"/>
<!-- supported parameters are: @icon, @name, @number, @numberName, @noIcon-->
<!-- visible="@noIcon" will only be drawn if there is no icon for the channel available -->
<DrawText text="@number" loc="2,10" size="96,80" textStyle="GeneralTextStyle" align="left" valign="center"/>
<DrawImage filename="@icon" loc="16 ,4" size="92,92" fixedAspectRatio="true"/>
<DrawText text="@name" visible="@noIcon" loc="2,10" size="96,80" textStyle="GeneralTextStyle" align="center" valign="center"/>
</CompositeImage>
I would like to see the the first change I described added to future releases of the skin. The other two changes I described are to help others who may want to accomplish the same effects.
I just finished seting up windows 7 x64 and installed GB-PVR in it. My recording works fine but when I try to watch live TV I get nothing but a black screen. If I choose ffdShow video decoder HD-PVR starts but still a black screen, if I use Microsoft DTV-DVD I don't hear the HD-PVR and still a black screen. Works fine on my vista x32 install.
I make the following changes to the OSD skin each time it is reissued. I think they apply to a large group of users and would like to see them incorporated into the basic OSD skin.
The first two changes are to relocate the timeline and program description so they are more near the center of the screen vertically. This becomes an issue if the show is broadcast in letterbox but I want to use the ZOOM function on my wide screen television to fill the whole screen. The standard placement of these put them off-screen when the set is zoomed in. You can see in the attached screen capture of a letter-boxed show that they are now positioned inside the program material area.
Since the placement would not adversely affect any users and would be useful to those that may ZOOM letterboxed shows, I think the change could be made to the basic skin without any complaints from users.
The other tweak I make is to change the color of the commercial area if GBPVR autoskips the commercials. We are able to switch between autoskip and not autoskip by entering 999 on the remote. The standard OSD skin displays the coomercial areas in a very slightly different way. It is almost impossible to determine which mode you are in from just looking at the timeline.
I changed the color so it is RosyBrown if autoskip is in effect and you can see the second capture shows where it is not in effect. I would have preferred to make the autoskip color to be Black and the Not Autoskip color be a less intense shade of the Green used for displaying programming on the timeline but I could not find a parameter to control that color.
I don't think any users of Comskip would object to this change or an alternative that would make the distinction between Autoskipping and Not Autoskipping greater. The color RosyBrown wasn't my first choice. Like I described above, someone who knows the skin better than I could make better choices of color if they can also control the color when Autoskip is turned off.
In config, I think you can enter a frequency for a station in place of a channel number for fine tuning.??
Is this also possible somehow for the fixed RF frequency when using RF from a STB to the PVR150 ??? Looking in teh logs it just appears to send a request with teh channel number. I'm getting some weak wavy lines and with wintv I can use the finetune bar to shift the tuning very slightly and it goes away (mostly).
Hi Guys,
I am a long time NMT user who accidentally stumbled across GB-PVR whilst actually looking for another NMT type device that had more functionality and the GB-PVR possibilities looked fantastic.
So I have installed it no problems and have had a bit of a play early in the mornings or late at night when it is not being used, but the only stumbling block for me at this point is the movie selection interface. With my NMT i had been running YAMJ with a movie wall type skin (showing 27 movie box covers per page) and i would like to have that sort of interface with GB-PVR. Is there a skin or plugin that will allow this?
I set up GBPVR for my mom and with it EWA. I have sucessfully been able to connect to it from my work and home. But i seem to not be able to connect to it from some of my computers here in the house. I am using dyndns as its a dynamic ip.
So i have consitently been able to connect to both my home gbpvr and my moms from work, i am having trouble connecting from my home hetwork to my moms gbpvr as well as mine, so i think it has something to do with my network, How can i troubleshoot.
