Hi all, does anyone know of a capture card test i can dl? GBPVR isnt seeing my tuner(Hauppauge850), but the native Wintv program opens fine (should I have uninstalled that? Nothing said not to). The EPG downloads a list, but when the program tried to map the channels, I get an error: 'GB PVR was unable to start the BDA you configured. Check that it is connected and not already in use.' Ive no idea what to do, I think Im close to giving up.
My wife sometimes pauses a recorded show while watching (Via an MVP) and leaves the room to attend to other things. I've noticed that the screen saver never kicks in when a show is paused, and the show title/description remain onscreen with the paused frame. Is this a shortcoming of the MVP, a bug in GBPVR or just a problem with my configuration?
I'd like to see the following change made to the Weather2 skin. It makes the text in a Weather Alert larger so it is readable on a television screen from across a living room. The font included in the basic skin is only readable if you are watching PVRX2 on your computer and the screen is only a couple feet away. (Your vision may vary)
Although I've included a block of text so the location of the change can be easier to find, the change made was to use the textstyle "MapTitle".
When i try to watch tv with enabled Dienterlacing Encoding pass-though it has sound but no video. Then when i put enable Dienterlacing on none i get a picture and sound. I also cant record the tv. Any idea what it could be?
Because the changing of my userprofile for GB-PVR i think that i have found a few bugs in relation with the Playback of DVD-ISOs and the Daemon Tools.
Let's start with the little nasty things:
If i select an ISO for playback, then GB-PVR let's DT mount the image automatically (great!) and playback the video. So far, so good. And here starts two little problems:
• It's not possible for me to stop the playback via ESC on the keyboard; stop button on the remote control however works*.
• If the playback is finished, then happens... nothing. GB-PVR stays at a black screen. I have to press ESC (at this stage the button is working) or stop on the remote control. A good thing were, if GB-PVR would automatically go back to the previous (not topmost!!!) menu, for selecting another videos and unload(!) automatically the iso from daemontools.
*Here's something funny at the process of stopping the video. It doesn't goes back to the previous menu... it go back 2 menus!
If i watched supergbpvr2010.iso and stop the playback, then GB-PVR is NOT @ "Spielfilme" as it should. It displays the menu "Videothek". I hope i could describe the problem with this behaviour... ^^;
Last but not least a bug, not a nasty problem: If i watch 2 or 3 movies via .iso, then GB-PVR isn't able anymore to playback further isos. I have to force the ending of GB-PVR within the taskmanager and restart GB-PVR to playback more movies, which is working then fine again... for 2-3 movies.
I would be very glad if you could fix these problems in the future, because GB-PVR is one of the most important software here. ^^ And i am ongoing to backup all my DVDs on this way (.iso) on harddisks (best quality, i think).
I am running Windoiws 7 64bit. If on my Intel MB de hardware assisted DEP is disabled there are no problems. When HW DEP is enabled GBPVR does not find the capture card and gives the following in the log:

Enabling or disabling the software settings for DEP in system properties has no influence.
If I uninstall GBPVR with the HW DEP enabled and install again with the same configuration and without rebooting everything works but after the first reboot it no longer works and gives the same error.
Switching off the HW DEP is no option because it is needed for Virtual PC/XP which does not run without the HW DEP enabled.
BTW: I am using a Hauppauge HVR-2200 (PAL equivalent of the HVR-2250)
I tried to make a clean Windows 7 Install to try how it performs with gbpvr and my hardware. I set up a TT 1501 DVB-C card (Germany) and tried the DVB EPG Broadcast because with the xmltv plugin which I am using up till now, I don't get any data from the only digital channels. After setting up some channels (because the automatic scan does only find about the half of the channels) I started the EPG update, after searching for some minutes the programm stops, but when I try to open the program guide, it closes immediatelly and I see nothing. Where should the data be stored and what is going wrong? When I use my Samsung TV, each channel has its EPG data.
When I press the off button on the remote, the NMT menu screen stays on. I press remote a secon time and the screen flickers and the menu stays on. I can repeat this over-and-over again and the menus stays on.
I have two A-100s setup: one on a 720 HD TV using an HDMI cable and the other on an old standard 4:3 tube TV using a S-video cable. The problem only occurs on the the HD TV.
Also, on the HD TV the GBPVR menu only covers the upper left hand quadrant (more-or-less) of the screen. How can I make it cover the entire screen?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks again folks (esp. mvallevand)for all your advice!
Hi, I've double checked the following, but I hope I'm missing something simple...
I've got 1.4.7 installed as a server on one machine, client on the other. The client uses File Sharing and the shares are correctly mapped (and the same for the Directories tab).
I can view recorded programmes happily, but when I go to the EPG and try and watch live TV, the screen goes blank for a few seconds before reverting to the EPG.
I've poured over the log files and it looks like it is finding the server and requesting the channel... but then nothing happens.
I've attached the log files for both machines. I'd be grateful for any pointers.
I have a Hauppauge HVR 850 USB HDTV adapter plugged into a desktop running Vistax32. GB-PVR installed fine, but my question is this: is my particular device supported? I follow the super easy instructions, and my DEVICE TYPE is listed in the DIGITAL SOURCE CONFIGURATION, when I select it manually. If I select SHOW ONLY DETECTED DEVICES, only Hauppauge -HVR950Q and HVR950Q(QAM) pop up. So I uncheck that box and pick the correct 850 model, follow the other instructions(Schedulesdirect for EPG), and get:
YOUR EPG SOURCE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE CONFIGURED CORRECTLY. PLEASE CHECK BLAH BLAH, random(to me) words and numbers follow after that. Everything on my screen looks as it does on the tutorial file.
The ugly Haup software works and the tuner is fine, so I know Im just missing something dumb, sorry. Trying to get it myself though, a little more info on my hunt:
my pc:
.net Framework: 3.5
microsoft installer: dont know. downloading 4.5 now.
visual c runtime support: yes
directx and windows media player: 10
Thought Id found an plan b in XMLTV, but it seems like EVERY guide for it is made for experts. Anyone have a tip or trick for me to get this awesome stuff working? Or maybe a TRUE XMLtv (or alternative) tutorial for people who are used to installation wizards? Thanks much, in advance. Ive been at this for 5 hours straight. RC
