I recently installed Win 7 on a test machine, and have experienced problems with audio.
The problem: The is a client machine. I am using 1.3.11 and both server and client are running the same version. I have an obaord ati video card. All works now running on vista and have no issues.
files with issues are HD mp2 with AC3 audio .ts files
When testing with win 7 the sounds will come in for about 30 seconds and then it will dissapear. if i pause it it and then play or FF/FW then it also comes back but will dissapear after 30 seconds again. I transfered the file to the client and it plays fine, i also played the file though WPM (over the network) and it played fine no issues. My network is 10/100 wired for both server and client. I have also tried several AC3 decoders (AC3filter, FFdshow, mpc audio) all give exactly the same problem
Also it does not change when changing Video or Audio renderer.
Logs are unavailable at the moment, but looking for a direction as to fixing the problem or what might be causing the problem.
Just installed gbpvr 1.4.7 with hauppage hvr-1600 as a single capture source "hvr1600_analog"...
Everything went fine in configuring and using...recorded a few shows...till I rebooted the system...
On every reboot the hvr_1600 capture source isnt seen by GBPVR or the recording service
checking the recording service status shows 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8...with nothing for these sources
GBPVR wont show live TV...
restarting the recording service or starting gbpvr config and just exiting (config fields shows up with proper settings, channels, epg config etc...!) after a machine reboot brings everything to normal : GBPVR will show live tv...recording service will work and list capture source 1 as HVR_1600 analog...all everything works...
Tried a few things...no success so far...every reboot will make me loose my hvr_1600 capture source...until I go into config and exit or restart the recording service...
Took me a while to notice that all the sources for metdata where unticked on the options tab. Seems strange that they're all unticked by default, stumped me for a while.
I thought it might be useful to write a tiny utility to help mapping dvd folder share's on local drives in the format required for mvpmcx2. It's not close to perfect but hopefully it's a start.
This Windows program simply reads the "net share" command and then creates the two lines that can be copied into gbpvr.cgi
I have Fast Forward set to the default 60 sec. And Rewind to 30 sec. But whenever I Fast Forward it only goes about 10-15 seconds forward. Same thing for Rewind. Am I missing something?
I have been noticing working trailers are being downloaded less and less.
Of 13 MOV files, 4 do download, the other 9 appear in the trailers folder but are only 26kb in size.
Looking in the logs and researching the Dave's Trailer Page website it scrapes trailers from, I am finding small differences and it appears this could be the whole problem.
It appears Dave's Trailer Page is not making the correct addresses for trailers from apple.com. The ones from playlist.yahoo.com are the only ones working.
The ones that are 26kb in size, which do not play are:
All About Steve.mov
Couples Retreat.mov
Fame.mov
Gamer.mov
Law Abiding Citizen.mov
Surrogates.mov
Where the Wild Things Are.mov
Whip It.mov
Zombieland.mov
All of these are from Apple.com with bad links so they are corrupt.
I realise this post may fall on deaf ears, and mine are bleeding, but that's not my biggest problem, it's my HAIR! Well actually the lack of it on top. Seems to be growing everywhere else, ears, nose, cheeks but what happened to my tofty top! I would provide pictures but that would be immoral, and disgusting.... I used to like my hair.... Am I the only one?
I spent a bit (lots & lots actually) of time over the weekend & have made some new index.htm scripts to automatically load GB-PVR from cold boot & to look more like the default blue skin views. The top image is what you see if you don't press "enter" the lower images are after pressing "enter" (they look different on the TV screen & have a green high light bar & no underlines)
I have been using this way to automatically load for almost a month now & I haven't had any problems with it at all & to top it off the WAF has grown heaps because of it
I feel these will probably be the ones I will post on the wiki but I would like a couple of testers first to make sure they are OK, comments & suggestions welcome.
Do NOT try this unless you have a fully working NMT setup already loading from a share.
Instructions:
Download index(x).zip (or index_sd(x).zip) unzip into your share folder (C:\mvpmc as default)
for HD TV download "index(x).zip" for SD TV use the "index_sd(x).zip"
Open GB-PVR.html in a linux editor do not use notepad.exe (if you don't already have one you can get one here http://www.editpadpro.com/editpadlite.html) & find this line
take a note of the share name.... in this case PVR-SERVER:mvpmc ...(NOTE it is case sensitive) open index.htm (or index_sd.htm) in your editor & edit the references to the share (there are three of them, don't miss the one down near the bottom of the script) to be EXACTLY the same as it is in your GB-PVR.html.
Cold boot your NMT & manually select your share for the first time at the network browser screen as it needs to be your last used option for it to work automatically, it should them jump to the loading screen & after 3 seconds load GB-PVR. On the next cold boot of your NMT it should automatically load if you don't press any buttons. Please let me know how you get on.
I've decided to make a fresh install of Windows XP right now after I failed to figure out what is making my video freeze for 10 seconds then video plays fast to catch up to audio.
If my HDPVR is recording then the Blue light will turn off and effectly kill the movie. The recordings menu shows it as still recording but it is not.
The computer ran nicely forever then I installed a western digital 1,5tb green drive and was able to record about 600 gigs on it before the video pause problem.
the movie timelines on new recordings from my pvr500 recordings are very weird showing a much shorter time and I though comskip may have been a problem with that but i downloaded the latest and same thing.
Does anyone here use a western digital green 1.5tb drive or any green drive and do you have problems with it?
It is important to note that I moved the recording dir to another drive and still had the problems...
There are no encodings running when this happens and I end up with 50 percent of complete recordings give or take.
Any idea?
