I am going to try and make this card (VisionTek TV Wonder HD 650 PCIE) work including ClearQAM! Wish me luck. I am new to GB-PVR and this card. I will keep posting the progress (or failures ) Here are some threads that I am going to use for help. Any pointers from those who have made this work already will be greatly appreciated. (I can go to windows 7 x64 if that is a better proven platform for this card ..)

I have a fresh install of XP SP3, GBPVR 1.4.7 and have run NMTInstall to get mvpmc share set up.

GBPVR shows up allright and all my old analog recordings play fine. But in the new install I also changed my old PVR150 cards to two FloppyDTV with CAM modules.

I have set the cards up and the computer records fine (the files play fine when playing from my laptop that is set up as a GBPVR Client in streaming mode and when accessing them direct from a share on the computer from the NMT).

The problem I have is that when I try to play a recording done with the FloppyDTV cards trough NMT with MVPCMX2 the screen just turns black and nothing happens. I tried this a few minutes ago and after that I rar:ed my logs and attach them to this post. I thoughy somthing was faulty with the recordings but as I say they play without trouble when I access them directly from a share on hte computer.

Anything in the logs or can I perhaps provide som more info to help me narrow the problem down and solving it.

Title says it all really. I'm looking for a simple and free tool to merge 2 avi files into one avi file.

I've started working on a program to check syntax to help out those with having errors loading mvpmcx2 from the mvpmc share provide more information. To use it in the top left edit box enter the IP of your NMT or the hostname if you have a hard disk in the PCH

Some default hostnames are

PCH-A100
PCH-A110
HDEYESHOT (EGreat)

After this your PC should try to connect to your NMT to gather more information to help solve some common problems.

Then hit Check and cut and paste the resulting text into your support post.

I have included a screenshot of this error I'm getting. This happens when I try and launch Ztranscode. I have set all paths in Zprocess for the required apps. Please let me know what I need to attach for further troubleshooting.

I am using an ATI TV WONDER HD 650 USB Combo device and I am not able to get GB-PVR to detect any channels on the coaxial Digital input. The signal source provided by Cox is ATSC using QAM which is piggy-backed over an analog carrier on the same coax.

This is what I've tried so far:

1. After initial install/configuration, I went to Capture Sources and then clicked on Add.
   
2. In Edit Recording Source I selected Digital Recording Plugin for Recording Source, then clicked on Settings.
   
3. In the Digital Source Configuration screen, I selected ATI 650 Pro (QAM) for Device Type and then clicked the OK button, leaving all the other fields at their respective default values.
   
4. This is where I started guessing: Back on the Edit Recording Source screen, I bypassed selecting an EPG Source since I had yet to find one with the particular listing/channel-alignments I knew I needed.
   
5. So, the only thing I could think of was to go straight to channel mapping via the Map digital channels to EPG channels button, because I knew this would at least start auto-scanning for channel from prior experience.
   

I have an older P4 that I have been using to record with HDhomerun and a custom batch file plus sharing the record folder out to view on other machines. This has served me well. I have acess to all the Windows 7 SKU's so I decided to try Ultimate and the built-in Media Center. It turned out to be really CPU intensive and the .wtv format of the recorded files was not viewable by my Popcorn Hour so that was a deal breaker.

I found out about this pvr as I was researching and decided to use Windows 7 Starter. I really like the small foot print of this OS (running aroun 250MB idle) and all else appears to work well.

Except for this software (gbpbr) I get a message "Sorry, this system does not support the required VMR9 video render." I'm wondering if there is an way around this or if I should just try one of the more feature full versions of windows. I might just jump to Home Premium and see.

By november 1th Denmark will shutdown all the analog tv signals.
The new digital channels will be delivered by 5 muxes. The first mux will transmit free MPEG2 channels for the coming 3 years and mux 2 will transmit free MPEG4 channels. 3 more muxes will transmit Boxer coded signals.

Right now i am using Hauppauge T-500 card to receive the current danish test MPEG2 channels and the swedish MPEG2 channels. This works fine.

My problem is that i want to be able to receive the coming MPEG4 channels as well. The family expect this service as they have been use to GBPVR for the last 2+ years.

I can not find any drivers to my Hauppauge T-500 card that can decode the MPEG4 channels that i understand is coded as DVB-T2.
On the other hand then my understanding is that the difference between MPEG2 and MPEG4 should be a "software-only" issue.

:confused: Can anyone help me to understand what i need and whether its available or if you should have information about a card that supports DVB-T2, then i would be very happy ? :confused:


Currently i am converting the received digital channel to MPEG2 using a Cyberlink BDA software mux because we can then use the MediaMVP.

Next question is:

Since I upgraded to 1.4.7, I've noticed that season recordings have started scheduling recordings that match as a substring, rather than an exact match as it did before.

I get my EPG through birtles' XMLTV tool, and post-process them to insert an '®' to the end of the programme titles of repeats so that I can exclude them from season recordings. Previously this worked, but now they are all recorded. I thought this might just be a quirk of the post processing, but I've noticed that my season recording for 'The Apprentice' has scheduled a recording of 'The Apprentice USA'.

Is this a setting somewhere, or a change in behaviour? Has anyone else noticed this?

hello - i just ordered a secondhand dell, comes with XP 64-bit. Did I just mess up? I've heard that many apps will not run .... just wondering what experiences folks have add with XP 64-bit (Pentium D) and GBPVR etc?
