Is there a way to either prevent or make the video inset to not get in the way for DVD, Weather2, Stocks, BurnDVDX2, Jukebox2? You know, when you are watching LiveTV, then hit menu to check the weather conditions for example.

I checked with Jaggy, and he said it was not skin specific for the Blue Retro SHV skin, it does it in blue as well. (Thanks Jaggy, I didn't test that part thinking it was only the skin I was using.)

firstly to choose to multicast a program via the web interface.

And then secondly using the normal software to choose a program to multicast. so can watch something normally but also steamed to other locations at the same time.

Attempting to run GBPVR 1.4.7 on HP 6400 laptop, for use as client only, no capture. Running XP SP3 with latest MS patches. .Net 2.0 is installed @SP2 along with the VC2005 (vcredist_x86.exe).

PVRX2 crashes immediately on startup, even before menu appears. Logs are attached.

I know the download of 1.4.7 is good as I used the same install for a Dell desktop I'm using as my GBPVR server and it's workging fine.

I see all the work jaggy is doing on this, but did not want to mess that thread up. I am using the index.htm file sucessfully for startup, but would like to tweek it a little. Here is my situation.

I need to exit gbpvr from the pch to get my PC to sleep. With the current index file, I exit gbpvr, then hit cancel so it does not auto load in 3 seconds. (sometimes it takes so long to settle back at the 3 second screen, the timer ends and it relaunches GBPVR) Then I hit the "power" button on the PCH remote to sleep the PCH. To restart I wake up the PCH and select manually start GBPVR.

To increase the WAF, I would like to eliminate the auto start and just go to a single manual "Start GBPVR" button. This way I can exit out of GBPVR and hit the power button without having to try to catch the cancel. It will also just give my wife one button to deal with to launch GBPVR.

Looking at the index file, I can see how to extend the time of the 3 second timer, but have no clue on how to eliminate that part of the file.

So I'm watching the season premiere, and I notice the length, about average at 43 minutes. For those who didn't know, Fox experimented with longer show lengths last year, making both Fringe and Dollhouse closer to 49 minutes sans. And while I never felt like fringe needed the extra time or used it well, it was great for Dollhouse.

I guess I should just be happy they kept the show at all, but they left it on friday with crappy and completely unrelated leadins, so it's really just a matter of time anyway and I might as well complain.

I managed to install v1.4.7 and to get it to work, however every now and then it crashes. I took a look at the logs (attached) and the only error I found is:

Error code : 80004005
E_FAIL
An undetermined error occurred

any idea of what is going wrong?

I don't know if this is known or not, or just common sense to most folks. I'm not an XML guy, so maybe this is a known xml thing. Anyhow... on with the show:


Directory names that have "~" in them will cause GBPVR to crash if:

1) This directory is explicitly defined in GBPVR's config.

2) And you access the function related to that folder in the gui, or you try to run the config program.

I got pages of errors that made it look like a .NET issue.

For example, you define a video library directory that points to c:\Videos\~hidef

This will cause it to crash.

The reason is that "~" is used in the xml stringto separate the directory name you defined from the path to that directory.

The fix is:
Remove the ~ from the directory name.
Make a back up of your config.xml in the gbpvr directory.
Edit the config.xml
Search for the directory name
Remove the ~ from the directory name in the string.
Save config.xml
Restart the gbpvr service.

Its possible that the ~ causes additional corruption in the string. My string had additional corruption with ~
s in it. If thats the case, you might want to just delete the xml string leaving the tag intact and restart the service and redefine it using the config gui.

I have yesterday recieved my NMT (Egreat M34A). I now try to access GBpvr from it. I can access my share on my Vista Machine (//desktophugo/mvpmc).
I can also open the file 'GB-PVR.html'. When I then select one of the following options:
