mp4 movie removed from recordings after auto conersion
Posted by: tvshowman - 2009-09-28, 12:26 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi sub,

I have been converting .ts files into .mp4 files automatically in pvrx2 and once the file is converted to mp4 and the .ts is deleted the movie no longer appears in pvrx2 under new recordings.

Conversion from mpeg to avi are fine. Is there a setting somewhere I can adjust?

Thanks

  Pause live-tv somtimes doesn't work
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2009-09-28, 07:25 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Or at least, doesn't work on some channels. The logs contain an attempt to view a encrypted channel and pause it, which work on the first channel. I then switched to another channel and pressed pause again, the screen goes black, after a couple of seconds the OSD shows up but still no picture. Pressing pause again (to resume) does nothing, still black screen and it never comes back.

BTW, I'v only tested encrypted digital channels so far, which is the most critical for me.

Need help - IR blasting TelstraClear digital
Posted by: -Asylum-Skitzo - 2009-09-28, 05:51 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hey guys,

First day using GBPVR and have managed to get it mostly working.
The one thing I can't do is change channels on my TelstraClear Digital decoder (which I believe is a ADB 3000).

I am using Windows 7 with GBPVR and a PVR-150MCE with the IR reciever and transmitter.

Have tried using HIP (which comes up with an error when started) and IR Server using IRBlast.exe to send channel changes as described in the documentation with no joy.

Has anyone done this before and can lend a hand?

Additionally I've run into a few bugs in GBPVR, when pausing and unpausing live tv it will crash. Also I have a widescreen TV but although I have GBPVR set to 16:9, live tv plays in 4:3.

Some listings -> "no show details"
Posted by: jfm - 2009-09-27, 11:25 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I'm using GBPVR 1.4.7, the xmltv plugin, SchedulesDirect, and UltraXMLTV Enhancer 2. Tuners are 2-PVR500's for a total of 4. A couple of questions:

1. Some channels, like SYFY, no longer show listings -- just "no show details" for each time slot. ScheculesDirect says that the data is there. I suspect this is due to the name change from SciFi to SYFY, but I don't know how to fix it.

I ran Update EPG for each tuner (not sure why you have to do this for each tuner, but I did) and zipped the file. It is attached.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

2. Also, while I am at it, if I want to do all of this in a batch file and not through the GBPVR auto update function, how do I set each tuner as to "EPG Source"? And how to disable the GBPVR auto update?

Thanks

  Long pause during Fast Forward
Posted by: talkinggoat - 2009-09-27, 11:20 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I'm having issues when I click the forward buttons. It stops the video and audio for 30-50 seconds. The time keeps going, but there is no audio or video advance. Anyone heard of this, right off hand?

Win7 x64 RC Issues with HD PVR; several questions
Posted by: rgann - 2009-09-27, 10:11 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (5)

This is unfortunately a long post. I hope somebody will take the time to read it.

Well, when a hard drive died in my old HTPC setup, I bit the bullet and did a full upgrade. Got all new components, considerably upgraded. I was running the Win7 x64 RC on my normal PC, and it was so great that I decided the new HTPC would run it too, since I had 4 GB memory.

The first thing I noticed is that my PVR 250 will just not work. This is no big loss, I suppose, since I have the Hauppauge HD PVR, and mostly I record HD stuff anyway. The x64 vista drivers from Hauppauge work just fine for the HD PVR, and I can use GBPVR to record. I assume nobody here has any hope for getting the PVR 250 to work under Win7 x64 (but correct me if I'm wrong!).

However, I cannot get the HD PVR remote control to work at all. Installing IR32.exe doesn't generate an error, but it never appears in the system tray or in the task manager, as if it's executing but then closing without doing anything. Running in XP compatibility mode doesn't seem to help either. Has anybody got this working? Maybe I'm being dense.

The other thing is the H264 TS playback. It works beautifully in WMP and the Windows Media Center program, without having to install any codec manually. In fact, it works so well that I'm afraid to install the Haali decoder or ffdshow, which were mediocre at best last time I tried them. But playback in GBPVR doesn't work at all (program just goes back to the menu upon trying playback or Live TV). Also, as I've been using TS Packet Editor to edit the TS files, it seems to need Haali, since the video preview mode in that program doesn't work (Error: Auto creating filter graph). I'm a bit baffled by this, since if Media Player can do it, I would think GBPVR and TS Packet Editor could do it using the same graph---evidently I'm wrong. Any advice here would be really helpful.

Thanks to anybody who read all this.

  Recordings screen bug (maybe)
Posted by: psycik - 2009-09-27, 07:25 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi Sub.

Last night went to the recordings screen and hit the pending button and got a lock up. Tried on a popcorn hour and on the server. Finally figured out what it was, I have been archiving some programs from the server to a home server (another machine), and the home server was off.

The log was posting messages about Lookforrenamerecordings (I have this on and deletemissing turned off).

I'm guessing that there was a network timeout happening while trying to find the recordings on the other server. Do you test for File.Exists before trying to do anything else on that file? And does a File.Exists wait for the no network exception or return false pretty quickly when the file can't be found?

Recording service stuck in livepreview mode, choppy playback, vista
Posted by: arttu - 2009-09-27, 06:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Upgraded from xp to vista home premium 32 bit and re-installed gbpvr. All channels are found successfully but:

If I run gbpvr tray "as myself" (=not as admin) and then launch pvrx2 from tray, I can not see live tv because "tuner is in use". If I quit pvrx2 and check the status, capture source #1 (my only one) is stuck in "livepreview mode".

Only way to reset the recording service is to stop or restart it, but the start-menu shortcut only has any effect if it is run "as admin". Task manager shows that the recording service´s user is SYSTEM (which I find weird as I started the tray and pvrx2 as myself, not "as admin").

If I run everything as admin, then I can access live tv, but live playback is super choppy and with errors in the picture, almost like if I had super weak signal. Playback of recordings/video files is smooth as silk, no problems there and signal is fine (like I said, gbpvr worked just fine in xp).

So my questions are:
a) how should I fix my access rights so that all of gbpvr is run as myself, or is it normal that the recording service is run as SYSTEM?

b) can the choppy playback be caused by incorrect access rights? My computer has enough power to playback blu-rays flawlessly, so SD-livetv should not cause any problems.

Logs are attached from a simple session in which I start tray, then pvrx2 from tray, see that the tuner is in use and quit pvrx2 and then fiddle around a bit more without success.

EPG/XML parsing: reading Season and Episode data from title
Posted by: Sykor - 2009-09-27, 04:31 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (7)

Maybe one the already available utilities/plugins already does it, but I couldn't find it through my searches. The closest I could find was in old UltraXMLtv's wiki page, about Series/Episode Lookup, but I'm not sure if that's what I'm looking for exactly.

I grab my epg data (for Portugal) through xmltv's tv_grab_pt, and xmltv's source for Portugal, puts the season and episode number in the programmes' title (ex. "Dexter S1 E02").

Is there any utility that can detect and cut that sort of data when available, and paste it to the proper tag, for the Enhancer to read it?

  Movie Wiz extremely slow
Posted by: wildstars - 2009-09-27, 04:15 PM - Forum: SearchWiz & MovieWiz - Replies (6)

Let me start off by saying that I have been very pleased with all the wiz plugins and utilities I've gotten to date. Even despite the incredibly long delays, I like movie wizard a lot. I just know my wife is gonna quack about it taking forever to start up.

I searched the forums as I futzed around with it yesterday, and didn't see any similar problems.

Any how, the symptoms:
It typically takes over a minute to start the movie wizard gui from within config, standalone, or to initialize the plugin from within pvrx2.

When in the configuration applet (either stand-alone, or from within gb-pvr's plugin config, it takes about a minute of time each time I click onto the manage content tab from any other tab.

When I delete a record out of the database using the manage content tab, it takes about a minute for it to get back to me.

Finally, I'm not sure if this is related, but when I do a information lookup, and I pick alternatives, if I don't pick and alternative and I hit cancel, the applet crashes. But it gives me the option to save my changes as it goes down.

I have less than 150 records in the database. I am storing the images in the database.

Any suggestions or questions?
