Problem playing back Prime on Freeview
Posted by: engnz - 2009-09-10, 10:05 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

Just started recoding Prime that is now on Freeview DVB-T. However I can't get GBPVR to playback properly. 1.3.11 just jumps around and 1.4.7 plays better but gets stuck in now and again. When I play the ts recording with PDVD7 it works fine so at the moment I'm switching to it to view my recordings.

Is there a way I can get GBPVR to use PDVD7 for playback?

  Syntek EasyCap USB 2.0
Posted by: steve_aus - 2009-09-10, 04:05 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

I purchased one of these cheap video capture devices on EBay and was wondering if it's possible to set it up as a TV channel. I have it connected to a CCTV camera and was hoping to be able to just change chanel to it when wanted instead of having to switch to some other software to view it. It came with drivers which have set it up like a camera, so i can see it in Skype or Windows Movie Maker for example, but I'm not sure if I can set it up in GBPVR.

Any help (or confirmation it's not possible) would be greatly appreciated.

Steve

P.S. have attached filtercheck.log if this helps (the related audio capture is called "USB Audio Device" in the log, not that I'm using it anyway)

Looks like we're another step closer to being able to record encrypted channels in the US.

  After upgrade, GB-PVR won't start
Posted by: toboR - 2009-09-10, 03:00 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

Once again, I know I've done something wrong, I just don't see how!

I installed the new vcredist_x86.exe, then v. 1.4.7.

I had also reinstalled MVPMCX2 at the same time, but I doubt that could be a factor.

I see an error in the logs concerning a missing VMR 9 renderer, but nothing else on my system has changed (AFAIK, anyway).

I'd appreciate any help.

Anyone know how to stop Vista restarting itself automatically?
Posted by: JP23 - 2009-09-10, 02:29 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

Vista restarting itself automatically to install updates has been driving me crazy, just lost some work because of it (again). I've been googling for a solution but can't find anything so I thought I'd ask here.

The solutions I have seen:

Disable automatic updates and take control of installing updates myself - not satisfactory, I wan't automatic updates, I just don't want automatic restarts.

I've also seen a solution using the Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc), but this isn't included in Vista Home Premium, which is what I have.

Any ideas?

  MUX question
Posted by: TimCoe - 2009-09-10, 01:44 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Comcast just did their digital conversion so now recording using the HVR-1600 in ATSC the recordings are DVR-MS which the MVP cannot process. Tried experimenting with the DVR-MS transcode option on the Processing tab in Config. The ATI mux gives me video and no audio. The Cyberlink gives me a staticy (?) picture and no audio. Anyone have any suggestions on muxs for transcoding? So that I can watch the shows via the MVP.
Thanks!Smile

  ATSC/splitter/tvguide?
Posted by: shimshady - 2009-09-09, 11:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (15)

I just got my ATSC set up and it looks great....great job with GBPVR. I got a question however, i remember seeing a post about splitters (i have analog and OTA channels) and which one to use, however i cant remember which to use.

Also, i use schedulesdirect however i the tv guide with the OTA channels doesnt show anything, did i do somethign wrong in the config?

Last question, how come the channels dont show up as 4.1, 5.1, 5.2? They are like 101 104 etc?

Thanks

With Comcast Conversion = MVP is now useless....
Posted by: TimCoe - 2009-09-09, 10:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

With the Comcast conversion the MVP is pretty much useless as Sub has noted in various posts that I have read. At the moment a PCH is not in the budget. Can anyone suggest alternatives?
I was thinking of using the GB-PVR machine and outputting the recordings from the video card to the large screen TV. Would that work? I can justify building a PC as I can also use it as a digital music jukebox. Another thought was I have an older PIII 1.0 GHz machine with 512mb of ram that I can set up as a GB-PVR client off of the main GB-PVR machine. In doing that could I then route the recordings out of the video card to the large screen TV.

I am pretty much a newbie with all of this ... so any help is most appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Right.....WAF is quite low for the MVP in the bedroom...a bit slow and unreliable using TSmux+idigial live tv . so I am considering replacing it for something else, choices are as I see it:

NMT PCH A-1oo refurb at around £95
Wait for Hauppauge HD-MVP
Atom based thin client
something elase???

I dont really care about HD (It's the bedroom)
Priority is live TV using TSmux with either DVB-T/S source
TV is smal with no hdmi input..but may be replaced one day.
Low maintainence+power

Basically I need flawless live tv and replay of recordings on SD .
Also bearing in mind my priorities whats the difference between PCH A-100 & A-110 ???
