Anyone have some good recommendations for setting up my network in the optimal way for GBPVR? What I want to do is setup a client PC to watch recordings from my main GBPVR machine in another room. I tried just doing a quick setup and watching a recording, but I don't think my network could handle it as I only got snippets of show...
I want to watch HD
I currently have a mixed (b/g) wireless network with an admittedly crappy d-link router
Is wired the only way to go - or has anyone had success with a wireless solution?
I just built a new computer (running Vista 64, Dual core,4gig ram) and installed a new Hauppauge 2250 card and all works great ! the problem is when I try to use the Hauppauge 150 card in the same computer and run the 150 I get digitizing and stuttering just on that card. First I thought it might be because I was recording 3 diff. shows at the same time and the (on board graphics card ) couldn't handle them but when I watch live tv with just that card it happens. I went and downloaded the drivers for vista from Hauppauge but it didn't help Any ideas PS vista will be replaced by windows 7 when it comes out ( don't want to learn vista when it's being replaced )
I'd like advice on setting up my Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2200 please. Until I sort out compatability issues with my HD recordings I initially wish to set it up so that I can record analogue + analogue or analogue + digital. I understood that it should be quite normal to operate the WinTV-HVR-2200 at any one time as A+A, A+D or D+D, and that the switch between anaolgue and digital is made by the software, but I can't get it to work as A+A.
With it installed as one digital capture source in the Configuration tab it will record two digital channels simultaneously. By adding a WinTV-HVR-2200 anaolgue capture source into the Configuration it wil record one analogue channel but when I add into the GB-PVR Configuration another WinTV-HVR-2200 as a second analogue capture source and try to record two analogue channels at the same time it will display as recording and a directory is created but no file is created.
After much playing around I then removed all programmed capture sources and then added two analogue capture sources (to which I assigned Capture Device numbers 1 and 2 in the Recording Source setup box) and I was able to record two seperate analogue channels simultaneously. Then I added the digital capture source as Capture Device #3 but it it produced an error when I tried to map the channels. I reassigned it as Capture Device #1 and mapped it OK then reassigned it as Capture Device #3 but this prevented me from recording two analogue channels. I again tried reassigning Capture Device numbers and changing the order of the capture sources in the Capture Sources list but with no success.
I have left it set up as one digital and one analogue recording source which allows me to record with A+D or D+D but not A+A. How do I get it to do A+A as well?
I am trying to schedule a recurring recording (same timeslot each week) but it keeps showing up in the Conflicts section but by itself with no other show also there. The only show recording on the same day is recording with a different tuner. If I click "Resolve" I get a message saying: "The following conflicts were found: > No changes. Cancel my new recording request." I click that button and the recording remains in the Conflicts section.
(Castle is the one showing the conflict and House is the one recording on a different tuner).
I cannot figure out what Castle is conflicting with. I looked at the gbpvr.db3 database and the only row that has a status=5 is the one for the attempted Castle recording. If I manually set the status to 4, the show will appear under Recurring recordings but not under the Pending recordings (presumably because I did this manually).
I have attached my log files, but let me know if it would be helpful to see my database. Thanks!
I have an mkv file that does not play back on gb-pvr. It does playback on VLC and XBMC and plain WMP. I have ffdshow installed. I looked at the video component and it says it's was encoded using AVC. I included the details below. My question is this, does gb-pvr have problems playing back mkv files?
I am still have my NMT reboot randomly & I am fairly sure it is when Weather2 does an automatic update, there is always an error in eventviewer. I have attached my logs & eventviewer error message.
Although I don't use DVB-S very much, I have noticed that for Live TV, I get video and audio, but if I record it and then play it back, I get video but no audio. This only happens with DVB-S. Recordings are in .ts format. This seems strange as I would expect both to behave the same. DVB-T is fine. Any ideas?
First of all, after finally getting it running, congrats on the work you've done on the plugin. I sure love the AccuWeather upgrade, and the easy search id function.
Anyway, on to the problem. I spent the last hour scratching my head with this one...
I hate cluttering the main menu, so I usually put non-media oriented plugins inside sub-menus (cinema listings, webcams, weather, etc). And after configuring Weather2, the next thing I did, was just that: put it in my "Serviços" (services in portuguese) sub-menu.
Whenever I tried to open the plugin app I got a error window. From the pvrx2.exe-log (multiple instances of similar/equal error lines such as theses appear after my Enter command):
Quote:2009-09-10 23:25:36.328 ERROR [1] Unexpected error: System.NullReferenceException: A referência de objecto não foi definida como uma instância de um objecto.

I tried reinstalling wiz' dlls, changing the video renderer, the works. Nothing did the trick. In the end, what was causing all the fuss, was me putting it in a sub-menu. Put it in the root menu, and voilá, worked like a charm. Put it back in a sub-menu, error...
I can upload some logs if you wish. Just say which ones you need.
