I've just installed a new ATI TV Wonder 650 PCI card. Recording is fine from a CPU-overhead standpoint (2-5%.) Problem is that the playback of either Live TV or a recording (that GB-PVR made) causes steady CPU usage to 100% until playing is paused or stopped (where GB-PVR is consuming almost all of this.) ATI's supplied Media Catalyst software behaves in the same manner. If I play the recorded file w/Windows Media Player v11.0, however, CPU usage is only 2-5%. Windows Media Player shows the following properties for the file when played:
Video size: 720x480
Aspect ratio: 4:3
Audio codec: InterVideo NonCSS Audio Decoder for Hauppauge
Video codec: CyberLink Video/SP Decoder (PCM45)
I've tried setting GB-PVR config to use the same audio/video coded, but the results are the same. I set logging level to DEBUG and am attaching pvrx2.exe-native.log, pvrx2.exe.log. Any help would be greatly appreciated as GB-PVR is my preferred player/recorder! Love the software. Thanks!

Sub at some point, can we get the episode recorded date as a variable so that when you hit pause, or blue button and get the recording OSD we can see the recording date and/or the current date time.
I'm running comskip 80_025, recording using DVR-MS. I find comskip works remarkably well, to the point where I have auto-comskip enabled all the time.
However I do find that the skips are often a bit abrupt, cutting off the last second or two of the show before the commercial break. I'd rather have it err to the side of showing a few frames of black or even a snippet of commercial before skipping. To a lesser extent, it sometimes comes back a little late so if someone was talking immediately as the show comes back I miss the first word or two.
I don't think either program is doing anything wrong, I think it comes down more to the slightly unpredicatable nature of skipping in mpeg-2 video streams (and it may be somewhat codec dependant as well, but I'm not venturing into codec hell again). It's also probably a matter of user preference.
Does anyone know if there's a way to slightly offset the skips, either by a change to comskip itself, or by a change to GB-PVR to cause it to delay skipping a little bit?
I looked in the config for both programs and didn't find anything.
What would really be great is parameters in GB-PVR config.xml such as:
This would tell GB-PVR to add 2 seconds to the skip point specified in the comskip file, and then subtract 1 second from the resume point. This would allow users to tune the behaviour to their preferences and according to the vagaries of their system. If it has to be specified in frames instead of time, that's fine too (even better perhaps).
Have been using Slick since it became available in GBPVR, but one very small niggle is that the slideshow of background pictures has always had what I can best describe as a missing line of pixels at the edges (I always use exact-scan on my TV's). Have tried all sorts of different photo sizes but always get the lines. Makes no difference what resolution is used.
Attached example - have pasted a screen capture onto a black background which shows-up the issue, as usually photo viewers have white backgrounds which hide the problem...
Is it possible to record a stream based on the scan data information only? I have 80 or so QAM audio channels that I don't want to map and see as blank entries in my TV guide. If I could provide a simple link to in my Web Radio plugin I could get at the channels and probably even transcode them for the MVP.
Hi, i just installed the new version of GBPVR on my HTPC (XP SP3) and i cannot get the live tv to play the tv. I hear the sound but no playback. I searched the forum archives and it seems to be a codec problem so i tried download the MVP however i cannot get the option on GBPVR config to select so im sort of stuck on what to do. thanks
Trying to update from 1.3.11.....Despite having downloaded and run the new vc_redist_x86 dated 12/07/2009 the install says that PsiParser.ax won't register. Attempts to register manually return 'LoadLibrary ("psiparser.ax failed' The specified procedure could not be found. Any suggestions?
The way GB-PVR reuses keyboard shortcuts is killing me. It would be nice if every function had it's own keyboard shortcut. I'm trying to use Firefly remote and EventGhost. One problem is I want to use the Up and Down buttons to skip over the commercials in comskip but then I have to assign those buttons with 0+cntrl+right/left. cntrl-B seems to be used a lot but I want to press the OK button for the progress bar to show up during a movie. I can't just assign it because cntrl-B is used throughout the app. If showing the progress bar had it's own unique key combination then I could just add it to the functions I want the OK key to handle. Has it ever been considered to make keyboard shortcuts configurable like in config.xml?
I've just acquired a Pinnacle 7010ix from eBay, which I bought because it has two DVB-S tuners - but GBPVR thinks there's only one DVB-S tuner.
I've installed the latest BlackGold 3450 drivers, which seem to work fine. In the absence of two detected DVB-S tuners, I created a second tuner entry in Config and used the same device name/entry as the first one but called it device 2. On scanning channels using the digital mapping dialog box however, no video appears for that 'second' tuner.
