kicks back to main menu when playing songs
Posted by: alexd1983 - 2009-09-05, 04:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Recently I have added a 2nd tuner to my computer and though it isn't working perfectly yet, I've come across new issues.

I'm not able to play more than a couple songs through "My Music" before it decides it won't play them anymore and kicks me back to the main menu. GBPVR also will no longer play videos. I just get a black screen and have to exit PVRX2 via task manager.

I'm running windows home server on a Duo-Core 2.67Ghz chip. 4 GB of ram and about 2.5 TB of hard disk space. I'm using 2 Hauppauge HVR-1600s. ATI x1300 vid card.

I've never had issues like this before. I upgraded to 1.4.7 and had no problems until tonight. I uninstalled, deleted everything and reinstalled GBPVR. I even tried going back to earlier versions...no luck..

Any help would be appreciated.

  HDHomerun channel scan 1.4.7
Posted by: Shoey Peachew - 2009-09-05, 04:17 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

I'm fustrated with all PC TV card tuners in general and I'm almost to the point where I don't want to deal with them anymore. Why can't we just plug the card in, install the software and click a couple buttons and setup is complete? Why does it have to be so time consuming? I'm not accusing anyone here as I've used a number of different software and devices and it's all the same problem solving over and over again.

Anyway, I installed the latest HDHomerun and GBPVR and did a channel scan. I noticed when the scan completes, the "Digital Channels found during scan" leaves much to be desired. As you can see in the pic I provided below, I've changed the Guide Names in the HDHomeRun Setup to match the channel names from the Zap2it website. However, the digital channels found in GBPVR's config don't match up with HDHomeRun's setup like it used to in v1.3.11. So, even though some channel names match, most channels come up as unknown or unmatched, which leaves me the task of figuring out which channel to map to. I just wanted to point this out and maybe make it function as it did in 1.3.11 to save some time setting things up.

Compare GBPVR Data Base to Recordings Directories
Posted by: LewE - 2009-09-05, 04:11 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

Every so often, I find that I have some recordings that don't show up in GBPVR.DB3. I have to find them manually and then use VidImport to get them to show up in PVRX2.

I don't know why these recordings get lost.

It would be nice to have a utility that could check the directories for recordings and identify any that do not show up in GBPVR.DB3. Better yet would be to have the utility have an option to process them with VidImport. I could see having the utility run daily and just do its thing without bothering the user.

  Windows Dynamic Disks
Posted by: wodger - 2009-09-05, 03:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (20)

I've got GBPVR installed on a 160GB drive and this is also my recordings drive. I've got extra drives as listed below and I am thinking about setting it up like this:

40GB
- Windows/system/GBPVR volume

and

160GB + 160GB + 250GB = 570GB
- One single spanned recordings volume using Windows dynamic disks.

The downside I know about is that if a disk dies I'll lose my recordings. I can live with this. Anything that's important I back up elsewhere.

Are there any problems with this from GBPVR's perspective?

Cheers
Julian.

  MovieWiz v1.0.27.0 Released
Posted by: JavaWiz - 2009-09-05, 03:35 AM - Forum: SearchWiz & MovieWiz - No Replies

New version on the wiki. Main reason for this release was to remove a dependency to some Windows Media Player DLLs that are no longer distributed with PVRX2. This was causing problems for uses upgrading to v1.4.7 of GBPVR

09/04/2009 : 1.0.27.0 (WizUiHelper v1.0.24.0, WizWebHelper v1.0.13.0, WizGenHelper v1.0.1.0)
* MovieWizManager - Removed dependency on Windows Media Player interface DLLs which was causing problems with new version of PVRX2.
* MovieWizManager - Fix bug where batch mode did not honor lookup settings
* MovieWizManager - Fix bug where metdata save for embedded and external did not save all data correctly.

1.4.7 video PIN - no leading zeros
Posted by: dslowik - 2009-09-05, 02:27 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I really like the PIN that you can set on the Video Library in this new version.

But, it appears that while you can use a leading zero in the config app (ex. 0123), PVRX2 won't take the zero when it comes up and asks for a PIN. It will take zero in other locations.

The attached screenshot is taken after I typed 0123. You can see that it only shows 3 '*'.

  BDA Devices
Posted by: persim - 2009-09-05, 02:00 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have been looking to pick up a cheap QAM card from Ebay. I have found a few random cards that have entries in the bda.ini file. Are all the BDA devices that are listed in the bda.ini file reported to work with GBPVR? Or are they just what the definitions should be if they worked with GBPVR? Just trying to save myself from having to sell a card I just bought if I found out it doesn't work with GBPVR.

  Error in XP install

Though I rarely use XP now, I wanted to install the latest version anyway and got this each time I've tried. The earlier versions have not given me problems.

Hello,

Finally I have bought a new PCI tuner with MPEG2 hardware encoder. See the one in the title. But I can't get it working. Help is needed.
I want to select the analogue channels. The card is recognized for analogue selection. But I do not see any channel in the listing. It is also not possible to select EPG, I tried to get the mc2xml as is explained in the wiki listings. But I cant find the mcsxml.dat file with xmltv.xml which subsequently cant be selected in the browser set up.
I am able to tune through the channels via tuning assistant. But how do I get those channels in GBPVR?
Is there a logic way to do the config for this tuner card. I get lost when I try to follow the installation in the wiki.

Regards,
