  Problems with new version
Posted by: donschjr - 2009-08-30, 05:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (32)

Just upgraded from previous version and horked everything. Error I got was:
Please reboot and rerun config.exe to insure database is correctly updated (previous database update attempt failed). This was an endless loop with each reboot. I installed the new Vcredist before attempting the update. I attempted repair installs and uninstalled new version, reinstalled old and attempted update but always got the same error. The old version was totally wrecked after a couple attempts so I wiped everything and started fresh with the new version and got it working but the digital scan didn't find any of the clear qam channels I get only the encrypted and the music channels. I got my clear qam working by using wizbda channel migration tool and replacing the scan cache's with the ones from previous install.

  Exception when opening Config.exe
Posted by: 7ore - 2009-08-30, 05:26 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

When I get message that the GBpvr is successfully installed, a big dialog opens with message that there is something amiss with interop.WMPLIB.dll.

I take OK and open config.exe. Now I get an unhandled exception and the plugin tab is empty.
the program itself seems to work as expected but I cannot edit the settings.

I started with vcredist_x86. I tried to repair and uninstall/reinstall wthout change.

What have I missed?

The exception:

  How to change PCH remote functionality
Posted by: cc1091 - 2009-08-30, 04:57 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (19)

When I was using the old installer method for linking GBPVR and my PCH A-110, there were a limited number of things I could do with the PCH remote. I often wished the PCH remote would mimic most of the functionality that the Huappauge remote had directly with my computer.
When I had to reinstall the connection to GBPVR after installing a hard drive in my PCH, the semiautomated install program provided somewhere in the forums worked well. But I was left with one problem that I would like to address here:
The PCH remote is now even more limited than it was before. Though I can fast forward (2x, 4x, 8x, etc) in time delayed shows, I can no longer control shows that are completely recorded in this manner through GBPVR (I instead have to go to the PCH network browser, and find the recording that GBPVR has made and control it from the PCH exclusively). This is just a small example of the partial functionality that I am left with.
I was wondering, is there an application that could be made for GBPVR or for the PCH itself so that the user could fine tune the functionality of their PCH remote (and even the remote that talks directly to the GBPVR computer)? If not, could someone point me to the instructions for manually adjusting the PCH remote myself?

  Zero sized recordings with ts mux - 1.4.7
Posted by: BigMoose - 2009-08-30, 04:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I've just upgraded from 1.3.11 to 1.4.7 and still have a problem I never managed to solve on 1.3.11 which is zero size recordings on certain DVB-S channels. Despite the previous thread and survival guide I never got it to work with Cbeebies and CBBC with the ts mux. With two tuners I've never been bothered enough to pursue and get logs but having tried it again today and managed to capture the logs I thought I'd post. The programs in question were "Sign ZoneMe Too!" and "Arthur" (what randomly happened to be on! These channels dont broadcast in the evenings when I actually get a chance to break, err, try and fix the pvr!) - tried to record two at once to ensure both tuners were tried so it's not down to one of them. Everything records fine on the cyberlink mux but multirecord would be nice to get working. Logs attached for pvrx2 and the recording service.

  New version 1.4.7 - no Ignore Error option
Posted by: liteswap - 2009-08-30, 02:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I've been used to checking BDA Advanced Settings/Ignore PMT CRC error in Config.exe because it solved the problem of being unable to recording two consecutive Channel 4 programmes - no idea why, but it worked...

That option is no longer available. Should I be worried, doctor?

  ActiveMovie problem with HD & version 1.4.7
Posted by: liteswap - 2009-08-30, 02:50 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Very nicely done sub with the new version, thank you.

However, when playing BBC HD in Live TV mode, the Active Movie window, complete with window furniture becomes visible.

I'm running XP SP3 with a dual monitor setup, one screen showing the XP desktop and plugged into the TV's PC input, the other DVI delivering content to the TV's HDMI socket. The ActiveMovie window appears halfway across both displays.

I suspect this should not be happening...

  Upgrade to 1.4.7 - DVD resume problems
Posted by: imilne - 2009-08-30, 01:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi sub,

Just upgraded, and (hopefully) everything looks ok, apart from a weird problem with playing DVDs.

When selecting to either resume or restart a DVD, playback appears to hang. After 30 minutes of faffing about with it (and deleting dvd.dat, etc) I discovered that pressing play or pause causes it to continue and everything is then fine. Without pressing play/pause, the result seemed to be any one of: a black screen, frozen navigation on a menu screen, frozen (as if paused) screen of whatever was playing at the time of the resume prompt appearing, and very rarely, a complete PVRX2 hang.

So it's kinda working (and not nearly as serious a problem as I first thought), but something isn't quite right.

Logs attached (of a few attempts to play a (physical) DVD, with me pressing play/pause eventually).

(I'm using Windows XP SP3, no plug-ins other than the DVD ripper, weather and BBC iPlayer; previous version has been working flawlessly for months.)

  No OSD during live tv on my PC
Posted by: Electron_Sam78 - 2009-08-30, 01:54 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hello, I'm new to GB-PVR and am still trying to figure the thing out. Right now I can't get an OSD to display while watching Live TV on my PC. What's the deal? Do I have to download plugins or something? I'm using my keyboard for control, I don't have a remote. My OS is WinXP SP3. My Tuner card is a Diamond Xtreme TV PVR550 which shows up in GB-PVR as a Conexant Falcon

  Perferred Audio Decoder in Config
Posted by: smajor - 2009-08-30, 01:39 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

Having just updated to 1.4.7, my config.xml was (again) stripped of my preferred audio decoder setting (AC3) resulting in no sound. I don't consider this is bug, it is the way it is.

It would be nice, in the case of the HD-PVR, if this was either left alone during an upgrade OR, maybe more appropriately, placed somewhere in the Config. Maybe in the Capture Source for that device?

No big deal, it no longer confuses me, but it might a new person.

  LiveTV has only sound on AverTV Hybrid Volar HX USB dongle.
Posted by: hadarbd - 2009-08-30, 12:18 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

just seen version 1.4.7 is up. will give it a try and hope it will solve the problem.

Hi!
I have installed GB-PVR 1.3.11 and there was no built in support for my tv card. I have an Avermedia AverTV Hybrid Volar HX USB dongle.
I searched the forums and added these lines to bda.ini:

[AVerMedia Volar HX DVB-T]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=AVerMedia Hybrid TV BDA Tunera
FILTER_CAPTURE=AVerMedia Hybrid TV BDA TS Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

and it now seems to 'recognize' it.
however,
when I go to LiveTV I can only hear what is been broadcasted, and the screen shows the program's menu, but the screen is black other than the blue bar with buttons.

I can get audio and video with the program that came with the dongle.

reading more into the forum I found it may be a codec problem.
so I went to free-codecs.com and downloaded and installed the audio and video MPEG codecs. still no picture, only sound.

tried to change the renderer and mark the 'use FFDSHOW if installed', no picture, only sound.

I tried to do a mini hack -
I recorded some station and went to c:\temp to see what happens there.
I found a .ts file there that VLC was able to play and there i saw picture and sound. so I guess the coder is ok. so its something with the Decoder or renderer.

any suggestions?

thanks in advance.

I am using windowsXP sp3, avast antivirus , zonealarm.
2 gigs of RAM
directx 9.0c

logs attached
