sub Wrote:Sorry, I dont have any recommendation for you. If your TechoTrend is working well for you, you might be best to go with a second one of those. Otherwise you might want to wait until the release is out and see what feedback you get form other users with CI cards.
The Technotrend 1501 works well, but channel startup/changing is anoyingly slow, this is probably due to the fact that the CI has to wait for the next key from the transport stream (the one that is transmitted every 10. sec). In another pvr-program (which I hate to mention the name of:p) there is a function named "allow this card to be preloaded". I guess this functionality makes the card constantly watching one transport stream an picking up this key as it appares. Would it be possible to have a similar functionality in GBPVR? Or is there other cards that switch channels / starts quicker?
After upgrading to 1.4.7 I noticed that on my MVP the skin plugin did not seem to work. I only got a blank screen. MVP is my routine interface to GBPVR.
Even after a couple of reboots (MVP and GBPVR server) it did not work.
Next I connected with VNC to the console and there I could open and see the skin plugin menu. After having done this I restarted MVP and voila, it functioned there as usual.
So it seems it has solved my problem. I thought it might be usefull to share this experience.

Some time ago we were talking about support for dvb-c cards (Cinergy C HD and Technotrend 1501), is there any work in progress? It seems not to work for me...
I was wondering if there is a plugin where you can synchronize playback of video between clients. The situation I am trying to handle is my wife is watching tv in the living room and I am watching tv in another room. I want to watch what she is watching. We used to accomplish this with a Slingbox but now we want the picture in HD.
I looked at the events and it seems like most of the events to determine what a client if playing. Does anyone know if this is possible in the API?
When I try to run config after I upgraded to 1.4.7, I get a message box with the following:
Quote:Please reboot and rerun Config.exe to ensure the database is correctly updated (previous database update attempt failed)
After I hit OK, config starts up & my Hauppauge 1600 tuners are missing. I hit cancel without saving anything. I attached the config logs.
My gbpvr directory has an upgrade.ddl dated June 27th,2009 (9:04 am) and a file upgrade.ddl.done dated May 12, 2008 (7:15 am). I saw had posted a message about renaming upgrade.ddl.done to upgrade.dll, but I was hesitant to do that since the file looks so old.
