No EPG from SBS on Optus D1
Posted by: siliconaudio - 2009-08-16, 10:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (26)

The SBS channels, including SBS 1 HD are being broadcast on Optus D1 and viewable in NZ. Although set top boxes are getting EPG fine from the satellite feed, GBPVR isn't.

SBS channels are on OPTUS D1 Freq 12646Mhz SR 12600 Vertical. Why would GBPVR fail to get the EPG. I'm told it is standard EIT EPG data.

Cheers,
Bill.

  Ghosting on movements
Posted by: Gerald - 2009-08-16, 08:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Everything is working fine except the ghosting trails on any movements on live tv and recordings.
I have a Hauppauge usb pvr2 and have upated the Hauppauge drivers. Through WinTv 7 the picture quality is excellent, but through GBPVR Live Tv there is ghosting on movements.

Also i can only get picture when configured for VMR9 full screen. EVR does not display at all. However in WinTv7 i get best picture with EVR.

Any suggestions? ... has it anything to do with drivers?

Thanks

  Channel scan is stuck
Posted by: ococ - 2009-08-16, 07:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hi,
i just downloaded the latest GBPVR version 1.3.11 (after i found that my MCE which i used so far doesn't support live TV broadcast in DVB-T MPEG4).
anyway i have an AverTV Volar black HD USB card for recieving the live TV broadcast. The scanning of the channels works just fine in the applicaiton which comes with this card, and also in the MCE.
when i try to run the scan in the GBPVR (from the config.exe), it reaches the relevant frequency which has the actual broadcast, and hungs forever (the cofig.exe applicaiton is stuck also and must be "killed").

i checked the native log in this is what i see in the end (before it hungs):

any idea what is wrong?

HVR-1800 Digital AND Analog US Closed Captions Working!
Posted by: TonyXL - 2009-08-16, 07:04 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Hauppauge recently released an updated driver for the HVR-1800 that enables CCinDVD-type captions for analog recordings:

http://www.hauppauge.com/site/support/su...r1800.html

Use the link at the bottom of the page.

I use CCExtractor (http://ccextractor.sourceforge.net/) for extracting captions into SRT files, and it works great.

CC has been working for the digital side as well (QAM).

  VLC streaming to MVPMC
Posted by: Elmo Putney - 2009-08-16, 05:55 PM - Forum: MVPMC dongle - Replies (1)

Hi all, I started this thread: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=42995 a couple of weeks ago but I have come to the MVPMC part of the forum for help.

The abbreviated story is that I have a wifi mpeg4 webcam that I want to see on the MVP (baby monitoring)......so my conclusion is that the best way to do this is to use MVPMC's built in VLC support, then somehow have VLC re-stream the stream into mpeg-2 to the MVP.

Soooo....is anyone able to help me through this process? I have got as far as looking at the web settings for mvpmc...ticking VLC then realising these settings don't survive a reboot.

I think i need a settings file on a network drive somewhere correct?

PC Crashing when MVP is Turned Off
Posted by: ww4397 - 2009-08-16, 05:35 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I don't know why this is happening, but when I turn off either of my two MVPs it is causing my PC to crash (XP Pro). I'm not sure which logs to include, or what to look for within them. So, I've attached the four log files that appear to have been created when the latest PC crash occured.

Thanks in advance for any light that can be shed on this.

  HDHomerun Network Demand
Posted by: mikeh49 - 2009-08-16, 04:18 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Now that I have clear QAM available, I'm thinking of a HDHomerun. I have a pretty basic home network with a Linksys WRT54GL router. Will this be sufficient to handle the two tuners (perhaps with multi-record) of the HDHomerun feeding the GBPVR box via the router? The wiring is Cat 5E (tested to 350 MHz!). There aren't any other heavy network uses at this time, just routine internet access and perhaps some music streaming. What about if I add a NMT/PCH?

Thanks.

  ZPROCESS: Audio sloooooow on MVP
Posted by: goobie - 2009-08-16, 03:04 PM - Forum: ZTools and UltraXMLTV - Replies (5)

Hello Zehd,

after a hdd failure I did a clean installation of GBPVR 1.3.11 and Zprocess 2.0.278. Now I have a new set of problems, which I'm not sure if it is codec related (I'm leaning that way, hoping you can help).

Without ZProcess (refs removed), GBPVR on the MVP works great (without aspect ratio correction as expected). When I add the refs of Zprocess with FFMpeg as transcoder then the AVI movie plays with stuttering video (every few seconds) and audio that is slow, guessing here but it sounds at like half the rate it needs to be. As said, GBPVR without ZP via MVP plays the same file without a problem. Playing same AVI on server works fine. Regular TV recordings via MVP play without a problem. Movies in MPG format plays fine via MVP, so I don't think it is a bandwidth issue over the network.

I'm attaching the logs, movie starts around 16:26.

thanks for your help

  How to trigger external scheduler
Posted by: WolfCry - 2009-08-16, 02:45 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

How can I use an external schdule for recording TV program?

I have setup the TV Guide to read the EPG data. When I click on a TV program, a dialog box pops out and I can select "Record". At this point, how can I trgger an external program and pass over the key parameters such at the TV program start date/time, end date/time, the program name and channel?

I have read the Wiki and I suspect I need to define a custome task but I do not know how to process from there. Pls help.

Many thanks.

Manual recording not stopping when exit Live TV
Posted by: goobie - 2009-08-16, 02:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hello,

Setup: MVP. GBPVR ver 1.3.11. ZProcess 2.0.278. NVidia Dual Tuner Analogue card. 3GHz P4 w/ 1GB RAM.

So while watching LiveTV I press the record button on the MVP remote and select "Record until I exit LiveTV". When I exit LiveTV and go to the Recordings, the manual recording is still going strong under "PENDING". I click "CANCEL" and I acknowledge that I want to cancel, but nothing happens and recording continues. On the server, the "G" icon is still green and the STATUS of the tuner shows that it is recording. I have to restart the recording service to stop the recording.

What am I doing wrong? I'm attaching my logs, the recording in question is around 16:08.

thank you
