  Newbie: Channels are missing...
Posted by: dankstelle - 2009-07-18, 06:53 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

New to gbpvr, I need some help with channels (germany).

My config:
Win XP SP 3
GB-PVR v1.3.11
Hauppauge NOVA-HD-S2 (detected as HVR 4000); digital recording

The automatic scanning process found more than 1000 channels some are listed as "unknown" though. I am able to view, hear (and record thru the common and the web-client) some channels.

But the popular german SAT1, RTL (Super-RTL) and ProSieben channels are missing (though the software that was included (CyberLink PowerCinema) has found these channels).

And funny thing is that their AUSTRIAN counterparts are shown...

What is wrong?

PowerDVD codecs and 3rd party software
Posted by: potatocouch - 2009-07-18, 03:24 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I've seen a post a while back stating that patches for PowerDVD will disable their decoder for 3rd party apps. Is this still the case? Is it safe to get the latest version of PowerDVD? I see that you can buy a decoder pack separately here:

Low Volume in GBPVR, Normal Volume In GraphEdit
Posted by: dennit - 2009-07-18, 01:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Problem: Volume is very low when playing a file in GBPVR. When playing the same file in GraphEdit (render media file) or in Media Player Classic Home Cinema it is very loud.

System: I send audio via SPDIF coax to my amp. The SPDIF coax connects to the motherboard, and it uses Realtek HD Audio Manager set to 5.1 audio

PVRX2: I have tried setting audio renderer, audio decoder and AC3 decoder in config to system default.
Here is what the log says about filters used when set this way:

Code:
2009-07-18 08:39:55.314 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters: 2009-07-18 08:39:55.314 VERBOSE - Default DirectSound Device 2009-07-18 08:39:55.314 VERBOSE - Video Renderer 2009-07-18 08:39:55.314 VERBOSE - CyberLink Video/SP Decoder (PDVD7) 2009-07-18 08:39:55.314 VERBOSE - AC3Filter 2009-07-18 08:39:55.315 VERBOSE - E:\GBPVR\Recordings\A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum(1966)(TV-14)(5 stars)\A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to t 2009-07-18 08:39:55.315 VERBOSE getSetting(SaveGraphFiles)
This has low volume.

GraphStudio renders the file and plays it loud using 4 filters:
- AC3Filter
- Default DirectSound Device
- CyberLink Video/SP Decoder (PDVD7)
- Video Renderer

This looks the same to me, but if it is, why is the volume so much lower?
My normal setup for GBPVR uses these filters:

Code:
2009-07-18 08:31:37.480 VERBOSE getSetting(ListGraphFilters) 2009-07-18 08:31:37.480 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters: 2009-07-18 08:31:37.480 VERBOSE - Video Renderer 2009-07-18 08:31:37.480 VERBOSE - CyberLink Audio Renderer (PDVD7) 2009-07-18 08:31:37.480 VERBOSE - CyberLink Video/SP Decoder (PDVD7) 2009-07-18 08:31:37.480 VERBOSE - AC3Filter 2009-07-18 08:31:37.480 VERBOSE - E:\GBPVR\Recordings\A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum(1966)(TV-14)(5 stars)\A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to t 2009-07-18 08:31:37.480 VERBOSE getSetting(SaveGraphFiles)

This also has low volume.

My volume setting is Master volume, but I've also tried "none-internal."

Does anyone have any comments about why GBPVR is playing at the lower volume than other programs? 99% of programs are playable by turning the volume up, but then I get blasted when I leave GBPVR.

Thanks.

950q problem switching from analog to digital
Posted by: drmuffin - 2009-07-18, 06:12 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I have recordings scheduled from HDTV cable qam and analog tv. However, after the QAM one finishes, and the analog one is supposed to start, the file is not created. There is simply an empty directory where the recording is supposed to be. However, if I restart the recording service, the analog recording continues as planned. Is there any way to resolve this?

Can't play back Hauppauge HD PVR recordings in GBPVR
Posted by: potatocouch - 2009-07-18, 03:43 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (8)

I'm trying to get Hauppage HDPVR to work and could use some help.

So far, I can get the HDPVR to work in live preview mode using the Arcsoft decoder and DVXA1.0 output. The picture quality is terrific and the CPU usage hovers at around 20%. I can also make GBPVR record stuff off of the HDPVR. But when I play it back within GBPVR, I only get a black screen (but the OSD overlay is still there). I can play back the recorded .ts file just fine in MPC-HC and TotalMedia Extreme.

Did I do anything wrong, or am I missing something? I didn't install any codec packages yet, such as CCCP or ffdshow.

My specs are:
Windows XP
Athlon X2 @ 2.1GHz
2GB RAM
Radeon HD 3450 @ 1360x768.

  USB ATSC tuner
Posted by: dvasco - 2009-07-18, 02:10 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (14)

I was using a Kworld 330u USB ATSC tuner for local channels whenever the PVR card was busy. Now both GBPVR and Arcsoft Totalmedia think the tuner is busy whenever I try to use it. I removed and reconnected it and then I got a message I had never seen before telling me the port isn't a hi-speed port. It is a hi-speed port though, and the same thing happened when I plugged it into my video server PC. Has anyone ever heard of something like this happening? Any ideas on troubleshooting?
