Muxes from Cyberlink PowerDirector - compatible?
Posted by: willyperkins - 2009-06-20, 12:10 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I'm looking to try using Cyberlink Decoders and Muxes for DVD Playback. I have Cyberlink PowerDirector installed, is it possible to use any of the files from there (listed below in screenshot)? I've tried using Intervideo and MPC decoders but neither worked.

GBPVR MuxChecker doesn't show the Cyberlink mux present, but gather the procedure is:
0) Identify the correct file for Video Decoder and DVD Playback.. ???
1) register the file
2) add it to the config.xml because these are not common filenames.

Nova500T - just started crashing on tuning
Posted by: wannabepvr - 2009-06-19, 11:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

After 12months of stable use, my machine just started crashing about 3 out of 4 times when a tuning request is made of either tuner in my Nova 500T.

Annoying!

I have tried the usual:
- updating the driver
- removing refitting the card
- swapping arial leads
- swapping PCI slots

Nothing has provided a reliable fix. I know the drivers for this card can be a bit flakey, and have certainly seen the lock-up during scan.

I have just tried these:
Nova-T-500_4_3_26168_WHQL
Nova-T-500_4_3_25080_WHQL
Nova-T-500_4_3_26168_WHQL
WinTV-Nova-DT-500_4_1_24118_WHQL

I am now trying the driver from here http://www.newmagic.com.au/Support/Haupp...ivers.html and it seems better.....

Could anyone using the card sucessfully please chck thier driver verion and let me know what is working for them.

  DvbToXMLTV & Sport Extra
Posted by: Jaggy - 2009-06-19, 11:11 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Quick question for NZ users,

I have been getting no EPG data for Sport Extra for a few weeks using sub's DvbToXMLTV & was wondering if they have changed something or if there is just nothing on that channel at the moment?

  Next release timeline?

Hi Sub,
I am about to rebuild my systems and move around my clients and capture cards. I will hold off if a new release is coming out soon. I know you are usually on a ~6 month schedule and will wait if you expect it in the next 2-3 weeks. I am not pushing but just curious.

I thought I'd share this photo showing for comparison my new ASRock ION 330, the PCH A110, and my two year old HTPC in an Antec NSK 2400 case which was a good form factor at the time!

$400 CDN though no Windows, keyboard or mouse.

  How to generate XMLtv?
Posted by: irontam - 2009-06-19, 05:04 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

Hi, first post, so please bear with me!

I'm looking to set up recording of a channel 24/7. I could simply set up daily recording slots, each an hour long. But a more elegant solution would be to write XML and use it to populate the EPG.

I found the following thread: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ght=24%2F7

I've written some sample XML and imported it successfully, but my question is, can someone recommend an XML generator to simply creating my listings?

Many thanks.

  Eli Stone is back!
Posted by: pBS - 2009-06-19, 12:21 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

I Flipped the other day when i saw a NEW Eli Stone scheduled! i thought they canceled it like every other good show from a year ago..[a frightening long list that all got replaced by junk reality shows that failed] halfway thru...tho i'm still wondering if this is just a wrapup tail ending...[from stuff already in the can]
tho i hope it continues, it's a story that lends itself well to a nice neat ending..
i hadn't heard anything new about it, so was really surprised to see it back again...

and Pushing Daisies is back as well for 3 episodes now...

wondering if Dirty Sexy Money will also make a return..Smile

Lately i've been getting into the new Royal Pains and The Unusuals, of course along with my 'usuals'...Smile
still wondering if The Riches will ever make it back...

update: ooo, some guy in argentina just saw it already! grrr...i was wondering where they got all this info about shows that haven't aired yet!?
http://www.tv.com/eli-stone/show/68652/o...gination;2

well it looks like Eli is just getting his ending...the 4 final shows have been scheduled but no continuation...
now they get to get paid for the 4 lost shows and even manage to make them just another yo-yo ride of 'now you see it, now you don't' then
'why doesn't anybody care about our characters?' pondering.....

oh well, at least the Daisies are back...lol

  Hauppauge 950q - No QAM
Posted by: Disperato - 2009-06-19, 07:48 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (15)

Long story short (typed up a detailed post and it didn't go through and it was gone :\)

I've tried just about all of the different media programs out there and Beyond TV has been the only one that's worked flawlessly for me without hassle for both analog and clear qam cable.

Searched the forums, tried all of the tips and tricks on this site, but still can't get it to recognize any qam channels.

Installed the softMCE from the Hauppauge site, did the survival guide patches, the qam.ini manager, re-registered filters, and every other solution a 950q search brought up.

Is there a specific order these things must be done in? Does anyone who has gotten their 950q working have a step by step guide on what needs to be done in order to get qam working on the Hauppauge 950q? I don't want to give up on this program just yet.

GBPVR scheduling recording more than once
Posted by: jldet5 - 2009-06-19, 04:26 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

After DTV conversion GBPVR is now scheduling some recordings more than once. I did do a rescan and remap of channels after the conversion date. The Fusion tuner was also upgraded however it seems to be happening on the 2250 tuner which did not change. WBBM 12 and WLS 7 did change physical channels and seem to be the larger problem however I see the same problem on WCIU. I need to clear something out but I'm not sure what.
