Have had this single tuner DVB card for some years. Worked fine until digital switch over. DSO has now completed in our area (Devon, UK) - we have no analogue TV signal at all.

DSO created some problems on a set top box whereby the channels all moved around on rescan so that ITV1 (normally 3, now 180-something) - but this problem is with this card. GBPVR also now needs to scan for "All channels", not just "Southern, Stockland Hill" as I did before. I'm guessing the mappings shifted around some. Not a problem.

GBPVR picks it up, as it's always done.

Scanning is slow, and it does show good strength and quality signals (80,100) at the numbers I'd expect, so it IS receiving signal and another tuner in the same machine is working fine. (Huappuage DT-2 twin)

However, no ffmpeg icons appear in the taskbar like with the Huappuage and I see no mini picture of channels. What it does find is the following, see pic.

I've tried;
Latest drivers. (Vista-64 so the original drivers won't work).
Swapping aerial leads.
Wiping gbpvr and reinstalling.
Wiping all traces of previous avermedia drivers and reinstalling.

Anyone seen anything like this and/or knows a cure? I'm thinking the card is toast and of no future value.

(BTW, I put this old avermedia in to replace an almost-as-old Huappuage single tuner wintv card which conflicted with the DT twin. They ran fine together for about a year then started conflicting. No amount of faffage sorted it and I suspect the latest Huappuage drives are deeply unhappy support new and old hardware on the same box.)

Anyone heard of this, or have any experience with putting one together.

I am thinking this might be something i want to put together so i can have some sort of way to recover from a drive going down

Im getting all time a fatal error when i install the "NMTinstall.exe."

then, cant put my cmplete mac adress in the required field bevor starting the installation.

I got windows vista.

i'm having a problem recording one particular channel...it plays fine for livetv, but when i try to timeshift it, or record it, i get nothing..
i believe it may be an odd size or weird pid something...attaching logs...

i thought it was a reception problem before, it came in weak, but with new antenna it comes it crystal clear, but still won't record...
it is an odd size frame:
640x480 atsc..mpeg2 w/mpa audio..
SID:2 VPID:33 APID:37 PMT:32 from info screen...

any thoughts? i tried disabling 'use cached headers' with no luck...
it was same as this before the changeover so i don't think it's related to that...

One of my mvp's has a dead psu (verified it using a 2nd unit).
Does anyone know of a suitable replacement source?

I have a TV Tuner Card with Conexant Fusion 878a chipset.
Can I use GBPVR (please god!) and how do I make it happen?

My system has its video library on an external USB hardrive which has internal power down logic. When the drive has powered down there is a significant delay (about 20 seconds, give or take) when PVRX2 tries to access it before the drive becomes ready. PVRX2 handles this happily and just waits. My MVP reboots if I try to access the library with the drive powered down. Once the MVP is back up it can access the library as the drive has also powered up. Then the MVP can then access the library happily until the next time the drive powers down when there is no use for a prolonged period. Other than disabling the drives power management, which I don't want to do, is there any other workaround to make the MVP more tolerant of slow device availaiblity?

My first post here. I am trying to decide if my system has enough horsepower to properly run a--1st Preference: SiliconDust HDHomeRun or 2nd choice: Hauppage 2250. My application is fairly simple. I want to watch TV from OTA antenna, preferably in HD, while, sometimes utilizing PIP and other times recording a 2nd program while I watch live. I’d also like to use the TIVOish functions to skip commercials, scheduling, etc, nothing too complicated. I live in central LA, so I shouldn’t be too far from station transmitters--maybe 20-30 miles or less.

If I can’t do HD, then I’d live with SD as long as I can watch one program and record another with some of the PVR functions.

Will I need a splitter, and if so can someone advise which one. Also any antenna recommendations would be welcome.

I would prefer to run GB-PVR as the software, but I’ve read that some registry editing may be necessary (but I’m unclear if this is still necessary with the new beta software). I probably have enough knowledge about computers to really screw myself up, especially if I have to edit the XP registry. But I can follow clear, simple instructions and have a more knowledgeable friend to help me if I really get in trouble. The registry editing seems like the biggest downside to the HDHomeRun from what I’ve seen. Either way I just want to watch and record some OTA TV and don’t want to spend months troubleshooting and trying to get my system to work with whatever route I go.

If my system doesn’t have the juice to support the above functions, any advice as to a simple tuner/software to get that would work with my current system would be appreciated.

Is there anything else I should know about that I haven't covered?

when in the video library and selecting or highlighting a file i get a popup related to that movie or TV show, trouble is it hides the transcode message behind it.

Is there anyway to turn off the original file information from displaying - it doesn't happen with them all

I'm currently using 2 HVR-4000's, viewing and recording NZFreeview via satellite successfully.

What I would like to do now is add an MPEG2 encoder to record some Sky channels from my settop box.
It looks like I should be able to use a PVR-150 using the S-video and audio inputs to do this.

Has anyone done this and if so are there any pitfalls to watch for?
