  How to play Blu-Ray DVD's
Posted by: Blue Racer - 2009-06-04, 05:42 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (10)

I am looking for a way to either play blu-ray dvd's or play a blu-ray iso on my tv using the pch. I currently have a blu-ray drive in my computer, AnyDVD HD software, and ffdshow on my computer. Cyberlink Power DVD software came with my computer to play dvd's on the computer. I am able to play regular dvd's from my computers drive to my tv through the pch. With blu-ray, the disk directory comes up and if I try to click on a m2ts file it just locks up gbpvr and I have to reboot the pch. Any help would be appreciated.

  NVIDIA: Output Always to HDMI
Posted by: dalabera - 2009-06-04, 02:10 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Here just a post of the solution I was able to found to solve my big issue of having my integrated Nvidia video card always output to HDMI, so it doesn't matter If havent switch my TV to HDMI, video should be always be there. Here the steps:

Step 1: Plug your PC HDMI directly into your TV and start the PC.
Step 2: Make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card installed.
Step 3: Open the Windows Contol Panel and then double click on the NVIDIA NVIEW Desktop Manager icon.
Step 4: Most of the tabs should be greyed out except the main tab ("Desktop Management") which it starts in, and "Profiles". Delete any existing profiles and then Click "New..." ,then tick all of the available options and enter the profile name as "Default" leave the description blank (you can fill something in if you really want) then click "Save".
Step 5: Close the Desktop Manager by clicking OK until back to the windows control panel.
Step 6: Restart your the PC.

Now everytime it comes out of standby or a restart it won't matter if you have the TV source set the HDMI input, it will show your video.

Cheers!

  combined NMT and SAT reciever
Posted by: happyhammer - 2009-06-04, 01:39 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (1)

Dunno if this of interest to anyone, but i'm using an AZbox HD elite. Its basically a NMT and SAT receiver in one. The NMT part is based on a sigma chip thats very similar to the PCH.

Its firmware is only in a Beta state, but it could be of interest to some of the developers here.

  Accented characters
Posted by: carrierlost - 2009-06-04, 08:26 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (3)

There seems to be a problem playing back recordings and files in general when they contain accented characters (like õäöü used in Estonian for example). To test just copy/rename a file to the like that contains these chars.

Tested with the latest version.

The filename I tried to play was C:\Temp\ü.ts

mvpmcx2 on telnet printed:

  Net Radio
Posted by: cad - 2009-06-04, 06:42 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Trying to add some net radio stations via shout cast. I go to classic mode, right-click and save target to net radio folder. I go in GB and try to play the station but it stays in buffering mode forever. I can go to shout cast and play from there just fine.

The default stations work just fine.

Trying to get kabc 790. Search for "kabc", it's the only station that appears. If anyone someone would be so kind as to try this out in their system and see if they get the same problem or it's just me.

  "What's the Frequency, Kenneth?"
Posted by: mvallevand - 2009-06-04, 04:33 AM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (3)

I've uploaded a new version of mvpmcx2 that I hope fixes the problem initializing 50 Mhz HDMI. If you needed to change your PCH setting to 60 Mhz or have had to add a --frequency 60 to the command line to avoid a blank screen, I think you are now going to be okay. Definitely recommended in most PAL and DVB countries.

Please share your experiences, this has bugged me for a year now, and I hope I got it right.
