  How do you play mp4?
Posted by: cad - 2009-06-03, 02:10 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Or for that matter various other formats like divx, h264, etc.

Right now when I select an mp4 file from my library GB doesnt do anything. It won't play on media player but plays on media player classic.

  [DEV] TV Guide Rows change
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2009-06-02, 11:57 PM - Forum: Community Skin - Replies (7)

I'm curious if you guys have looked at the change I made to the method of selecting the number of rows in the TV Guide. My method may be more elegant, but I'm unsure whether it gains anything.

I was pondering the idea of alternate TV Guide layouts, but I don't know that there's any need or demand for that. One that occurs to me is a widescreen layout where the listings go to the bottom of the screen and the selected show details appear on the side. Another might be a guide that shows 3 hours of programs instead of 2, if that is possible (I see there's a setting for that in config.xml, but it doesn't seem to do anything).

If there are to be alternate layouts, then having the selection of the number of rows separated from the selection of the base layout certainly makes sense.

Discuss?

WinTv HVR-950Q analog recordings dont get to file
Posted by: drmuffin - 2009-06-02, 11:51 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Hello. I am trying to record analog cable tv from my hauppauge 950Q using gbpvr 1.3.11 with the direct.ini setup as in here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...light=950q

I setup a recording, and although PVRX2 says it is recording, the status from the tray icon says my card is sleeping. Also, the recording is not saved to any file. However, watching live tv works fine.

Its not a problem with my card or cable, because I can record with virtualdub just fine.

Can anyone help me?

Nova-T not picking up certain channels in UK
Posted by: Missionary Man - 2009-06-02, 11:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi,

I've been using a Nova-T PCI card for the last 3 years with GBPVR and am currently running v1.3.11. A couple of weeks ago, I needed to rescan because of the digital switchover in the UK, and now I cannot pick up half my channels.

I have run the test program scanchannelsbda_uk (Provided by Hauppauge on their support site) and this program picks up all the available channels.

When I run GBPVR config, I only get half the channels. I'm missing the BBC channels on MUX1.

I have re-registered the filters, to no avail.

Can anyone offer help or advice?

Thanks,

MM

  Remote not working
Posted by: cad - 2009-06-02, 10:50 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have a Hauppauge pvr150 card and I can't seem to get the IR blaster to work with GB. When I click to change the channels on the remote the channel changes on GB but not on the stb. So I'm guessing the ir blaster is the problem. I tried it with winTV2000 and can change the channels on the stb just fine.

Under Capture Sources what should I put for channel changer? I currently have .exe Channel Changer.

  Newbie assistance please?
Posted by: FreakyFred - 2009-06-02, 10:07 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi Guys,
Looks fab, but can't get it to work.
HVR1100 card, works fine under WinTV 7, got all the channels, got EPG (from radiotimes) and than works via XML file (checked with TVG).
Gone through the guide with a fine toothed comb (errr....I think!).
Got loadsa codecs, 209 according to Gspot. (divx, h.264 etc) & muxes as well.
Capture device seems OK, used config to set it up, all channels listed, deleted card & re-created a number of times, always looks OK.

Start PVRX2 and get the lovely opening screen (blue) opening at "TV Listings" Hit it & it blinks & does nothing. Live TV - same.
Search Guide = does list programmes in alphabetical order & will apparently let me 'record' them, but nowt in the 'Recording -> Pending' list.
GBPVR ver 1.3.11
Show Status -> HVR1100 sleeping

pvxr2.exe.log says "no channels have been set up please use the config utility" but i HAVE! Honest! Lotsa times!
Even the 'Config' utility recognises them in the channels' tab, attached. Can't seem to upload the log files....

I'm not normally a dummy, but I can't help feeling I've missed something - any helpful suggestions gratefully received.
Best regards freakyfred

Couple of minor issues after switch to Digital
Posted by: antialias - 2009-06-02, 02:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I'm now recording everything as dvr-ms files via a hauppauge 1600 card. I can't get the transcoding working quite yet but I've got a big enough drive in there that it isn't really an issue.

The main problem I'm having is that on some shows it will randomly stop playing in the middle. It's not paused as I can hit play and it will do nothing. If I hit the FF then it will continue playing. I imagine it's some spot in the file that can't be interpreted and is tripping up the playback codec? It seems like it would just skip to where it could continue playing though.

The other small issue is weird. If I go to live tv via the guide or directly via the remote button, the first channel doesn't tune and is just black with no sound. If I go up a channel then back it tunes in just fine. Not a huge deal, especially since we rarely watch anything live but annoying still.

Thanks!

  MUXChecker says
Posted by: MikeT - 2009-06-02, 02:50 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

I have no MUX's installed and that GBPVR cannot run properly without one. It says WinXP SP1 has a built-in one but I've got WinXP SP3 and still no MUX.

Whatever Codec I chose - Defualt, MPEG 2 Decoder or Nero MPEG Decoder, the output is terrible, stalling every couple of seconds, breaking up, freeze frame etc.

Yet when I first installed it, it was close to perfect! The only thing I can think of is previously I had the original PVR software for my USB TV tuner (Presto PVR5) but in my effort to improve GBPVR viewing I followed the suggestion (not sure if it was a forum post or part of the wiki manual - I've read so much and got nowhere!) to uninstall Presto.

Now I want to re-install it as I've read that will have a decoder and mux that I need but can I find the original CD now????!!!!!

This is very, very frustrating. Can anyone help? I don't fully understand all the technical stuff so simple instructions please.

Cannot switch from analog to HD
Posted by: plg123 - 2009-06-02, 01:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I am setting up gb-bpvr for the first time. I got EPG working and I've mapped channels. I'm now getting both analog and HD off my antenna. I had a problem with sound on HD, but installed the AC3 filter and that fixed it. The HD looks fabulous on my 22" display!

My next problem -- I can watch an analog channel (including sound). But if I go to an HD channel, then back to analog, the analog channel does not display (and no sound). HD continues to work fine.

Any suggestions?

Problem recording a particular program - help!
Posted by: andonato - 2009-06-02, 01:29 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hi, I have a puzzling little problem that I'm hoping someone can help me with. I have been using GBPVR 1.0.8 for over a year and have had no trouble with it, until now. Recently I set up a recurring record schedule for a show for my daughter - Sesame Street. I have it set up to record all episodes on the channel (it comes on twice a day). The first weird thing is that the show does not appear red in the TV guide listings, indicating that it is set to be recorded. The second weird thing is that the show comes on twice a day, and my machine fails to record every time. It does not show up as a failed recording, but just does not show up at all. The third weird thing is that I can record the show manually - that is, tell it to record once and it will turn red in the listings and record perfectly. The fourth weird thing - Sesame Street comes on two different channels at different times and it behaves this way no matter what channel I try to record it on.

I have tried erasing the recurring scheduling and reprogramming it. That doesn't seem to work. All of my other recurring programs are working just fine. It seems that my pvr simply does not want my daughter to watch Elmo.

Thanks for any suggestions.
