The date on my computer got messed up so a lot of scheduled recordings failed to record. I cleared the failed recordings in GBPVR and then updated the EPG. I can see I have recordings scheduled that I missed if I manually search for them in the guide, but they are not listed in pending recordings. How can I fix this?
I am very new to this DVB stuff so please excuse the noobish -_-
Today I installed GB-PVR v1.3.11 on my pc running Windows 7 to use with my new el cheapo dvb-t usb receiver. I have set it all up and it is working perfectly. Very nice software.
I wanted to try it out over my network - wireless (G). I know it says it might not work but I would like to try anyway.
So I installed GB-PVR v1.3.11 on my other PC running XP and following the instructions in the FAQ "Networking with GBPVR", set up all the network shares. I can now see TV Guide etc. but when I click "watch" the screen goes black for about 2 seconds then returns to the TV Guide screen. Same happens if I try to watch a recorded show.
Should I not be seeing something (eg. slow glitchy laggy TV) at least, even if my network is too slow? Is it some other problem causing this?
I have Combined Community Codec pack installed. I can watch the .TS files from the server's shared folder on the client PC in Media Player Classic, they play fine.
I don't have any plugins installed other than those that came with the default install.
Cold wintery public holiday has the kids browseing our DVD collection. Have had some problems with certain titles not working due to copy protection (Macrovision?) on my HTPC with GBPVR. Can get around it by ripping to disk with Ripit4me, but introduces another step. I believe something like AnyDVD will get around copy protection on the fly.
Any thoughts on the best type of program to achieve this which works within GBPVR??
I have been recently updating all of my MP3 music to include appropriate cover art for use with my new iPhone. After all of this work I noticed that PVRX2 will not load the cover art, or any part of the MP3 metadata, it just stays on the last update to that secton of the screen.
When I encounter the failure, while tailing the PVRX2.exe.log, the only thing I see, over and over again, is:
Code:
2009-05-31 09:39:17.863 VERBOSE [1] UiList.GetRenderList()
2009-05-31 09:39:17.879 ERROR [1] Unexpected error loading Details Summary: System.ArgumentException: Parameter is not valid.
at System.Drawing.Bitmap..ctor(Stream stream)
at GBPVRX2.x1fdc2c7d98811d8c.x8353c8b4dc8f34c4()
Reading the error I thought perhaps it was expecting the cover art to be a Bitmap file, not a JPEG. So I removed the JPEG, converted it to Bitmap, and re-added it to the MP3 metadata. Unfortunately it made no difference.
The screenshots.7z shows what I mean about the metadata load.
The logs.7z are all logs for GBPVR. The PVRX2.exe.log shows the failures, for ~5seconds at line 960 2009-05-31 09:39:17.863 and line 1839 2009-05-31 09:39:54.426. The first error set is with a JPEG cover art and the second is with Bitmap (bmp) art. Not that it makes a difference, just wanted to show all my testing. In between I removed the cover art to get a valid load of the metadata.
GBPVR v1.3.11 with all patches from survival thread. Have not tried removing patches...but I don't think those patches have to do with the situation.
I recently purchased Roxio Easy VHS to DVD which comes with a USB 2861 Video Capture device. I would like to connect my cable setup box to this video capture device and be able to schedule captures (start/stop). Can I interface a USB 2861 device with gbpvr? Sort of a poor man's tv tuner. Is this possible and if so can someone point me in the right direction.
I have a Hauppauge HVR-1950 and use it with GBPVR. When I play back a DVD with video from the HVR-1950, the closed captions appear only on the TV. When I play the same DVD in Windows Media Player or a similar program, the captions don't appear, and there isn't even an option for captions. Any solutions? Thanks.
I have an HVR-1600 (the MCE version). I click on "Settings" next to "Recording Source:". And now the dialog doesn't look quite the same. My dialog says "Device Type:", while the one at this web page says "Capture Card Type:". Ok, I can see how they probably mean the same, but why the difference?
Next, I click the "Only show devices detected on this machine. Now which do I select? "Hauppauge HVR-1500MCE (ATSC)" (why is this even listed?) -OR- "Hauppauge HVR-1600 (ATSC)"?
So, I select "Hauppauge HVR-1600 (ATSC)". Next I'm wondering which Board Number to use. I download the DeviceTypeCheck and run that. It shows me nothing. No boards are listed. Is this correct? Well, ok then, I just go with #1.
I skipped over setting up EPG for the moment. I just want to see my card working. But now what? I start pvrx2 and try "LiveTV". But nothing happens. I mean nothing.
I've spent a few hours trying different things here, but I can't seem to get off the ground.
I have my external console application running, checking data from text files that logtemp puts out and preforming logic based on that data to the parallel port. I would like to be able to set 'desired temp' in gbpvr, see the current temperature of each sensor and show a snapshot of the latest graph that logtemp puts out (it drops out a .jpg/.png file at set intervals). I would also like to program a timer based on a text file - so that i can set my heating to come on at 7am and turn off at 9am, then turn on at 4pm and off at 10pm (for example). Id like to be able to hit a button in my plugin to change timers etc as well...
little bit confused at the moment (im probably doing too much for a newbie, really - but im good like that!) as to what i need to be doing.
I'm not seeing a menu item for GameZone. What am I missing?
GBPVR 1.3.11, GameZone 2.9.6
-Dropping GameZone.dll into C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\Plugins\GameZone
-Configuration works just fine
-There's a GameZone directory in every skin folder (blue, slick), with the skin.xml file
-Running the Community Skin 4, which has a GameZone directory for the skin, no menu item
-Tried all the other skins, no menu item
It's something really obvious, but I can't figure it out.
