Any known issues? Albatron PCI8400GS Video Card, GeForce 8400 GS, 256MB, PCI
Posted by: AndyScrase - 2009-04-22, 03:03 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

I am just doing a sanity check before I rush out to buy this card.

Albatron PCI8400GS Video Card, GeForce 8400 GS, 256MB, PCI, TV out, DVI, HDTV

Are there any known issues running this as a video out for PVRX2?

Thanks in advance

  User Interface Design issue
Posted by: gkreis - 2009-04-22, 01:31 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

I lost a recording just now and would suggest a different UI design to avoid this for others. I played a recording from the video library and then went to delete it. Because it doesn't work like playing out of 'Recordings', you have to move to the 'delete' option on the left menu. The delete selection STAYS there and if you press enter on another file it is asking to delete. It is all too easy to press on yes, thinking you are playing it. Poof... gone.

I suggest that 'playing' be the default action when clicking on a video library file and that deletion be a button in the dialog that appears (confirmed if so set in the config settings), as it is when playing recordings. The left menu tree would then be trimmed to remove 'delete'.

P.S.
I suspect this inconsistency came about due to these modules being developed by different developers or developed much apart from each other.

  ML3 only sorts alphabetically
Posted by: fuzzweed - 2009-04-21, 07:22 PM - Forum: Recording2, MusicLibrary2, SystemStatus Support - Replies (6)

ML3 seems to display and play album tracks alphabetically, but ML2 plays by track number. I've got them both installed at the moment and they seem to share the same settings page, so I've definately got sort by number ticked.
Is this a known bug or just my system?

  renamerecordingS
Posted by: the..sleeper - 2009-04-21, 05:46 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone can steer me to renamerecordingS.exe, which works with the old access databases in earlier versions of gbpvr. All links to downloads on the forums seem to have disappeared and Renamerecording.exe is the only one listed in the wiki.

I have been so happy with my good ol' 96.12 that I'd rather try to find this utility, than mess with my installation.

Thanks in advance,
Dave

  DVT2000H Config Error
Posted by: fraser_john - 2009-04-21, 10:14 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

I have attached a config.exe.log file, I get an unhandled exception whilst scanning for digital channels on my DVT2000H. I cannot use the PVR software that comes with it due to a Directx not loaded error, which is totally BS as I have Directx10 loaded.

Details of the error are :

See the end of this message for details on invoking

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

  Vista 64 Client Issues
Posted by: dabravokid - 2009-04-21, 07:59 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I'm sorry to post for help but I've been trying things suggested in the forum and so far nothing has worked. I have GBPVR running from an XP SP3 high end machine with a dual teamed gigabyte nic. I have a Vista 64 client also with gigabyte nic connected as a client. The server runs great, had a few teething problems when scanning for channels but its all setup and working, can watch tv, change channels no problem. The client will connect, display tv guide and start to play live tv but has issues depending on config. I have an ati mux installed and if I use streaming the tv will play for a while a little choppy at first until osd hides then will play for random amount of time smoothly and stop, the pxr will stop responding and I have to close and re-open. The client also crashes if I try to change channel. If I change to file sharing the client will start tv but it is very choppy and unwatchable. My problem is that I am struggling to find any muxes that I can install. I have found various stuff and used regsvr32 to register the ax files but they do not appear a muxes. Sorry if I've got this wrong. Thanks is advance for any help this is a great product and the support is great.

  Need help to get started!
Posted by: Kamikuza - 2009-04-21, 06:40 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (19)

Howdy all!
First post, signing in! I'm an ex-pat Kiwi living in Japan ... for the time being Smile

Want to get started with a PVR, built out of my old PC but don't know where to start Sad
Old PC is ...
Asus P4C800-E
P4 3.0
2Gb (4x 512Mb) DDR-400 - maybe, I forget now
160Gb + 80Gb + 80Gb removable HDDs
Sapphire 6800GT

We got SkyPerfect!TV on a STB and do NOT watch broadcast free Japanese TV. STB has S-video out (for sure) and maybe HDMI or something like that. Also had optical digital audio out ...
I use Onkyo home theatre box for audio with has digital optical in, from STB and DVD player ... VCR has RCA jacks.

What I want is ... a glorified VCR, basically - record shows, play files from the PC (region free PAL & NTSC DVD, .avi etc) and pause live TV. That'd make me happy. Anything else (record one show watch another from the STB) would be gravy and I do NOT want to spend days making it all work Big Grin but will take it if I can Wink

I'm trying to find a nice ATX case that'll lie horizontally but all I've seen here need micro-ATX mobo ... and I don't really want to buy a new mobo, memory etc if I can help it ...

So ... what extra hardware do I need to make it work?

Compro Vista TH850e - Hong Kong
Posted by: whatever999 - 2009-04-21, 02:47 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (14)

Hi Guys,

I got this card recectly and have been having some major problems getting it working properly in GBPVR...

The card has inputs for Composite / S-Video etc etc and the software / drivers that came with the TV card seem fine (meaning that using the software supplied I can watch channels and switch between the various inputs no problem).

The issue I am having, and I am not entirely sure I am doing this right or not is when creating the source, GBPVR recognizes the card but there is no option in there to define the source input (Composite / S-Video). As I understand it I will need to create two sources, one using the Composite input and another using the S-Video input for the same card, but currently in the card settings there is no option to select different source inputs.

I noticed in the Wiki that the TV-Card used as an example (Hauppauge-150) there is a drop down box that allow to select the input source, but its not available on my card.

Can this be right? I am pretty confused...

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help!

Whatever
