Assign Function keys to Plugins of our choice
Posted by: mkenyon2 - 2009-03-12, 02:41 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

Would it be possible to allow us to assign F9 and F10 to plugins of our choice, or maybe adjust what some of the other function keys do? Like Music (F4), to Music Library 2 or Radio (F6) (if we're not using Radio) to the Cinema listing plugin or Gamezone?

Program listings off by 1 hour
Posted by: RandyAdamsTN - 2009-03-12, 01:54 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I am having the same issues as described in this thread on the SD forums.

http://forums.schedulesdirect.org/viewto...?f=6&t=593

They seem to think is a GBPVR issue. My system time is correct, my bios time is correct. windows time syncs correctly.

The SD channel lineup is mixed up on some of the channels, like they say the history channel is 71, but its 67 from my provider. so their data is flawed anyway.

any ideas in can try?

  Very strange EWA issue
Posted by: mattyb - 2009-03-12, 01:43 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (13)

This is actually a follow up issue to this post:

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=40898

I now have very intermittent access to the EWA through the localhost:port/gbpvr/guide address. If I set to the port to 7647 it will work for 2-3 days, then it'll shut me out - ie. I get an "Internet Explorer can't find this page" error. So then I'll change my port to 8081, and that'll work for another few days and then I'll get shut out again.... then I'll change it to 8082 and the same thing happens.... then 8083 etc etc. The interesting thing is that after 8083 I can put it back to 7647 and it'll work again, then I can go through the sequence again and get the same results.

It's like something is overwriting my port access in this range after a period of time. I don't know what it is for the life of me.

Any suggestions??

  TV Guide Question
Posted by: persim - 2009-03-12, 12:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Is there any way to have the guide open up to certain channels? I find myself more more just watching and recording HD channels and they are in the 700's. The guide always opens with my SD channels which start at 2. Can I adjust something so that the guide will open with channel 702 on top?

Very low volume on QAM channels
Posted by: feniks - 2009-03-12, 12:31 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

Hi people,

I have minor trouble with very low volume on digital QAM channels while having loud and clear audio on analog channels. Not sure if there anything can be done with that. I suspect my cable provider to be guilty one (Comcast of Meadowlands in New Jersey, USA)

Is anyone experiencing same issue with other providers, perhaps in other countries? or maybe it specific only to my provider?

thanks for replies.

PVRX2 stopped working (Live TV kicks back to main)
Posted by: feniks - 2009-03-11, 11:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hello guys,

I encountered a strange problem. It is software based for sure because all works fine on my secondary Win XP x64, however in Vista x64 i had rare trouble when quickly changing channels. The issue happens especially when switching between sources (digital vs analog) and usually when trying to jump a few channels at once with arrow keys.

Result of above scenario is that PVRX2 hangs (black screen) and after a while it starts displaying video (vista x64 displays Data Execution Prevention warning that PVRX2 was closed while it was not), but suddenly audio becomes seriously offset (a few seconds) and when changing channels again the audio from previous channel still stays on for a few seconds even during switching.

Besides that i had no other issues what so ever ... until last night when the issue happened again and now LIVE TV mode in main menu doesn't work anymore, it always kicks me back to main menu. at same time WinTV works fine.

I attached logs for sub, man i believe in your wisdom, please give me a hint. i already re-installed Hauppauge drivers for Vista with no luck. perhaps something is wrong now with my config file (corrupted?) which i also attached.

Thanks for help.

sorry for clumsy English I used for describing the issue, but it is not my primary language.

GBPVR pausing playback at the beginning of commercial breaks on comskip'd files
Posted by: lorddemios - 2009-03-11, 11:37 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I recently upgraded to a HD PVR and initially everything was good. Recordings were playing back just fine. However I didn't have the latest version of comskip that supported H264. I upgraded Comskip to version 80.20 and Comskip appeared to be working. Now during playback it pauses at the beginning of a commercial break. The screen sometimes looks slightly pixelated, other times it looks just like I paused it. I can get around this by pushing the fast forward(skip) button once or twice. Then playback continues until the next commercial break is reached. I'm not sure if this is a Comskip or a GBPVR issue. Has anyone else experienced this type of problem?

GB PVR plays recordings with no sound
Posted by: Toolsy - 2009-03-11, 10:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Video is fine. Live TV plays video and audio with no problems. Playing the files in VLC media player plays the recordings with no problems.

Looked around the forums, I couldn't see a similar issue.

Logs rar'ed and attached.

Also, files are recordeds as mpgs, I've tried both decoders with no luck.

  Going to DVB-S
Posted by: gaby - 2009-03-11, 10:42 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (16)

After a couple of weeks of farting around with DVB-T, drivers, motherboards, HDMI cables and the like, I have come to the conclusion that freeview signal we receive here is patchy at best. Watching TV is fine but I've had a hard time getting a clean enough signal to record anything longer than an hour and have the .ts file work.

The options are to either get a fancy wideband high gain digital aerial (no guarantee it'll solve our problem) or just fix it first time by getting a dish installed and going with Freesat, which should guarantee a clean signal. Having spent the last 6 hours reading forums, websites and almost contracting a migraine in the process, I now have a few questions relating to Freesat and GBPVR which I hope some of you wonderful, shiny people can help me with.

1. Hardware, in particular a low profile DVB-S/2 card. It's got to fit into my low profile HTPC and ideally needs several receivers on board. I understand that the BlackGold cards are a bit naff and the Compro ones have some issues scanning for channels. Being low profile causes one or two problems. Dual tuner would be ideal but two cards are better than none.

2. Satellite dish. If I want multiple tuners then I need at least a dual LNB, probably a quad for good measure. Are there any obvious gotchas that I'm missing? I must confess that I'm a satellite n00b. My plan is to have this installed professionally. There's an interesting cheat to get a cheap dish install but will that allow me to get the Freesat HD content?

3. Other satellites. I read that Freesat comes over the Astra2 satellite but are there any other satellites that I could have extra LNB's installed to point at that would provide other, free, *unencrypted* content? (I don't want to have to faff around with CAM systems).

4. Freesat EPG. From what I read, the EPG is encoded in a strange way that makes it tricky to read directly. Although this is a work in progress and MythTV have cracked it, I'll need to use XMLTV for this. How has this fared for you?

5. HD. I'm looking forward to BBC HD, I'm ambivalent towards ITV HD but LuxeHD looks like it might interesting. Are there any obvious problems (other than H264 support on Vista) that I might run into? Can I use the "red button" ITV HD with GBPVR?

Sorry for the barrage but my research has still left me with a few unanswered questions
