I installed the plugin as per the instructions but I can't see the SystemStatus menu anywhere in PVRX2. The DLL is in the Plugins folder, the skin data is in the Skins folder and I'm using the default Blue skin but alas, no SystemStatus menu. Any suggestions?
I've been using GBPVR for at least 2 years now and have always had this issue, I figure it's about time I fix it. heh.. Recording is fine, quality could be a little better but it's not bad. My issue is dark, low light and night time scenes. It is almost unwatchable, is there some way to turn up the brightness for recordings?
I have not tried burning to DVD and playing back on a DVD player, maybe I should try this and see what the result is.
I have spent the last two days experimenting with a client PC for GBPVR. I wanted to share this with you and see if anyone has any more tips I can try. I am using the most recent GBPVR version on both machines. I am using Nvidia Purevideo decorder on both machines (client has Intel GMA 950 graphics- but purevideo works fine)
Server and client both are capable of playing files in question (made sure that worked first). I set LiveTV pre-delay for client to 4000 in all scenarios. Both machines running Windows XP. I am using a wired network with no speed issues.
As you can see from my results, I am not able to get LiveTV to work from both tuners in one single setup. DVR-MS was out of question as it does not support LiveTV. I am wondering if there is anything left to try to make this work.

I have the newest version GBPVR and all the patches. After I setup the HVR-1600 I try to map the digital channels it starts and says initializing then after a couple of seconds it kicks out of the config program. WinTV works and I can scan all off the clear qam channels but not in GBPVR what am I missing.
It would be nice if the option to show US Closed captions could be turned on or off while watching a recording. It seems like there's something there for some other method of displaying subtitles, but not for the closed captions that I'm using.
If it's part of setting up playback and can't be changed on the fly during playback, could it at least be a part of the Settings menu within the program? As it is, we need to open up Config in order to change it, and that wants to restart the Recording Service and interrupt anything being recorded. It seems strange to me that I can change the MPEG decoder there but can't choose whether Closed Captions are on.
Last night I recorded a program from my ATSC OTA setup (720p).
When I went to play back the .ts file, I noticed that my skip forward button (which is set to skip 60 seconds) was now only skipping about 1 second. When the OSD was up, I noticed that the current position timer seemed to be moving very quickly although the video was playing at a normal speed.
I went and played an old recording and noticed that the 00:00:00 format is normally Hours:Minutes:Seconds. However, when I was watching my new recording it was more like Minutes:Seconds:Milliseconds. For both videos, my skip 60 seconds button incremented the middle number by 1, but for the new recording, that equated to only 1 second.
I also noticed that the audio sync was way way off for this recording. Not sure if it was related to this timer issue or not. I tried to find out if anyone else in my area had audio sync problems last night, but didn't find any.
My singal is good (TV reports upper 90s). Hauppauge's WinTV signal monitor showed SNR of 30 (max), 0 uncorrectable errors, and every once an a while 1-2 correctable errors (which I believe is normal).
Any ideas on why this might have happened? The only thing I did differently yesterday was I replaced some F-connectors on my coax, but I don't see how that could possibly have any effect. Especially when my signal strengths stayed the same.
Would one of the members or SUB be able to explain the settings from the file CONFIG.XML, as I wish to correct the values for AspectRatioMode "Center Cut" on TVShape 4x3?
In particular the values "-0.05,-0.17,1.04,1.17"
This was first posted in General Discussion but it turned into more of a support question, so i've re-posted it here to hopefully get it sorted (hope that's ok).
I am trying to make a GBPVR client (PVRX2 1.0.16) boot straight into PVRX2 using the advanced method listed on the Wiki and initially posted on this thread about booting straight into GBPVR.
The client is XP and the server Vista home both on a wireless home network (There is a mismatch in client and server versions, client:1.0.16 and server: 1.2.9). (Sorry i'm not using the most recent versions, i havent had chance to upgrade yet. She is threatening to make me buy a standard tv recorder if i miss any recordings for her and i darent risk it!)
When PVRX2 is manually started the setup works fine using file sharing and has done for some time. I've followed the steps in the wiki so that GBPVR is the shell but PVRX2 starts with an unhandled exception (copy of the error in the attached file).
I thought it might be that the client tried to contact the server before it had an ip address (was DHCP) so i set fixed IP's for the client and instead of the server name in config i've used the IP.
So what i would like to know, is anyone using PVRX2 with this boot into gbpvr method? Does it still work. Or can anyone suggests why it isn't working for me?
I have the Screensaver plugin installed to show a slideshow for the screensaver, and prior to upgrading to the current version (1.3.11) it worked. Now when the screensaver would normally turn on, my MVP reboots. I tried the MLPanel as the screensaver, but couldn't get the slideshow working. I wanted to go back to the default screensaver, but can't seem to get it going. What does the screensaver section of the config file for gbpvr need to look like to go back to the default screensaver? Is there anything else I need to do (aside from disabling the screensaver plugin)?
