After a long hiatus I am trying to get GBPVR up and running again and am having a problem getting my HVR-2250 setup. I am attempting to setup the card using the Digital Recording Plugin, which detects it as a HVR-2250 (I am using it for OTA captures). SO I can run the "Map digital channels to EPG channels" it detects a whole bunch of channels. the issue arises when I go to view a channel to map it. When I click on a channel, config.exe freezes and then eventually crashes. The really strange thing is that I can successfully view programs with both wintv 7 and beyondtv? Any ideas?

After fiddling with Net Radio awhile back, I got to messing with it again today. I found that the method described in the wiki to add a shoutcast stream to the favorites no longer works. At http://www.shoutcast.com the 'Tune-In' button is no longer a direct link to the needed .pls file, so right-clicking on it doesn't offer the 'Save Target As...' option. Left clicking on the 'Tune-in' button immediately launches the mini winamp player. I don't see any way to get the .pls file.
First, My Setup: I have a Dell 2.8GHz PC with 1.25GB of RAM running Windows XP with current Service Packs. It has a 500GB disk attached via USB2.0 for storing programs recorded by GBPVR. I have Hauppauge 150 and 350 cards to encode the programs and use a Media MVP and a Popcornhour to view programs on televisions in other rooms. I am running GBPVR version 1.3.11. I have GBPVR set up to automatically run Comskip on each program right after it is recorded.
I use this setup because it does all the encoding and decoding via hardware with little demand on the PC. I use the PC as my everyday PC for all my computing (email, browser, word processor, spreadsheet, Turbo Delphi compiler, etc).
The Problem: Most times (maybe 95% of the time), the setup works flawlessly and I can be working on my computer while it is recording two programs simultaneously and, even while it is running Comskip, there are no ill effects.
Every once in a while, however, the computer will be doing something that keeps it busy for a few seconds (on the order of 3-10 seconds) with a flurry of disk activity. When this happens the recorded program files have skips when played back. Comskip reports them as Audio PTS Jumps of several hundred to over a thousand frames.
My Take on This: I assume that while the computer is busy, it is falling behind the data stream from the Hauppauge cards and that is why it has the discontinuities in the recorded files.
Possible Solutions: I came up with several potential solutions.

[*]Is it possible to set the priority of writing the data stream to the disk higher so it is not interrupted by other spurts of computer activity?
[*]Can a buffer be used/enlarged so the files are not butchered because the writes to disk are held up?
[*]Would a Network Attached Storage disk rather than one that goes through the PC via the USB port solve this problem? If so, what changes in the configuration would have to be made?
Further Thoughts: I thought about this more and realized that the data path from the capture card to the disk has to go through the PC so I don't think moving to NAS would have any effect on this problem. I got it confused with the MVP and PCH which might be able to bypass the PC if the recorded programs were on a NAS.[/LIST]
gbpvr kicks off updateepg.bat every morning (or if I select update epg from gbpvrtray) but it fails to launch postepgupdate.bat. I have added an echo statement to the file just to check that this is the case.
can anyone verify whether their postepgupdate.bat runs please?
I supose I could just move the command (WizImageGrabber ) in this file into updateepg.bat so it's not a showstopper.

Just like good ole hipwsend, it sends irblast commands to hip, so can be used as .exe channel changer in config..
Originally i made it to avoid having to check the 'interact with desktop' box on gbpvr service..

Also enables networked channel changes...
But the big side effect i wasn't expecting was, It's LIGHTNING FAST!!!
I can change channels faster than my sat box can display them!
pretty much identical to the speed of the box itself with it's own remote...
No delays on any digits, sweet smooth beat, much quicker on startup, usually it's already changed channel before video is displayed!
makes hipwsend look defective...lol [what, is it made with dotnet?!]
then again it's probably a windows thing and not hipwsend at all...

New to GBPVR, used MediaPortal for the last two years but looking for a more stable platform with MDAPI support.
After spending countless hours trying to scan in my channels for the EPG mapping stage of configuring GB PVR (using a WinTV Nova HD S2 card), I finally managed to get through a full scan of all channels without .NET 2.0 Runtime Error or an Unhandled Exception error. If truth be told I changed nothing, just kept rebooting and retrying.
Anyway how now mapped three channels as a test in order. However I have an odd situation in that the Live TV remains stable until I change the channel (after watching one channel), following which after about 15 seconds of viewing I get the .NET 2.0 Runtime Error for pvrx2.exe, or it happens without changing changing the channel from startup (I watch one channel).
Application event log entry is :
Faulting application pvrx2.exe, version 1.0.0.0, stamp 00000032, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.5512, stamp 4802a12c, debug? 0, fault address 0x0001aa01.
I have also attached the logs to this post. Please be aware that I shut down the recording service cleanly so it will at the end of the recording service log.
Any help would be appreciated, I am totally new to GBPVR so please be kind if it is an obvious mistake :o
might get rid of my philips remote as it seems to cause problems with sleep and i can't update the drivers without causing wierd problems (on wake, normally).
contemplating getting a logitech harmony one but wanted to check if anyone has one and used it with GBPVR?
I have a pcv-rz26g with a EVX-26 tuner card formerly using giga pocket. my giga pocket software is corrupt and no longer available. does any one know a hack I can use to make gbpvr recognize the sony tuner card? Please HELP........
