I hope I have posted in the right forum.

I'm a newbie here. I can't find my device listed in the software. I ran the filtercheck and this is what it came with:

GO7007SB Recording Plugin for PX-402U No longer Supported?
Posted by: cuxe_ivan - 2009-02-10, 04:25 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi Guys!

I've had a somewhat old version of GBPVR working in one of my PCs which suffered technical problems and as a result I had to reinstall the OS... but now that I want to get my old dinosaur Plextor 402U running I see that the capture device is no longer listed in the capture card type section.... nor is the GO7007SB Recording Plugin

So... does that mean I can't use this device to watch TV on my PC? ...

Manual Record - set length of recording?
Posted by: dcrebelxt - 2009-02-10, 04:22 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I'm guessing there's an easy way to do this, but just can't find it anywhere.

Say I'm watching live tv, and I want to set it to record for just the next 2 hours 15 minutes. How can I do this? Currently, I'm going into Manual record, setting start time to right now, and having to do Clock-math to get the correct end time.

Is there a simpler way to just press a button while watching live-tv, and have a dialog ask "How long would you like to record?"
Thanks.

  HVR-1600 QAM channel changes
Posted by: SLR_65 - 2009-02-10, 04:19 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I have a minor problem . . .

It seems that when I change channels amongst channels that are on the same multiplex I have no problems, the channel changes very quickly. However when the channels are on different multiplexes then it takes much longer and may never change. If I'm on an analog channel and punch the number in to go direct to a digital it works fine.

i.e. On Channel 111's multiplex I have PBS1 (111.1), PBS2 (111.2), a bunch of digital music channels, and Retro TV (111.52) and channel changes between those channels is fine.

On Channel 110 I have CBS (110.1), and ABC (110.2). And channel changes between them are fine.

If I try to change from say Retro TV, 111.52, to CBS, 110.1, then most of the time it will hang for a long time, if not forever. If I go to an analog and punch in a digital channel though it pops right up.

It's not a big deal as my analog feeds are good so I don't care about the networks in digital. All I really want is Retro TV and I do occasionally watch the digital PBS stations. I just found it curious and wondered if there is a fix for it . . . any ideas?

Thanks!

Steve

IRServer not changing channels on STB
Posted by: TomR - 2009-02-10, 04:04 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (17)

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum or not and apologise if not.

I’m trying to get IRServer to change channels on my STB but seem to be having problems.

I’ve configured IRServer as outline at http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mce-re...ete-29024/ .

The problem I seem to have is that when I use the remote to change channels it seems to change channels with in the display of LiveTV but does not change the channel on the STB. I have looked in the IRServer log files and in the IR Blast.log I get the following entries:
2009-02-09 22:15:48.734375 - Info: Connected to server
2009-02-09 22:15:58.031250 - Warn: Failed to register with server host "localhost", blasting not sent

Could this be the source of my problems? If so, how do I correct. If not, does any one have any other ideas?

Haup remote buttons remapped during video playback
Posted by: medic29 - 2009-02-10, 03:50 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

Ok here's the scenario:
Have a bunch of converted movies (in avi format) I am using a MVP for the front end. I select a movie it starts playing, great! I'm happy. looks good, sounds good, life's good.
About 20-30 minutes into the movie I try using the Haup. remote to skip ahead 60 seconds. Somehow the buttons on the remote are re-mapped to reverse instead of forward. If I press the button for skipping ahead (>|) it rewinds the video 60 or so. I've tried this on a few different files. It seems the only way to get things back to normal is to exit out or restart the mvp.
Another issue comes up:
I though by the wiki guide that if I exit out of a video and try to go back in, it should ask if I want to resume playback. Don't have that option. It just starts from the beginning. So far I haven't come across any simple way to remap a button on the remote to skip ahead more than 60 seconds, which is very annoying if you were in the middle of a movie, attempt to skip ahead and end up 10 minutes behind :-(

Would the file format be an issue?
Any ideas on this would be great.

  Weather Plugin Doopler Radar
Posted by: Snooze - 2009-02-10, 01:42 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (14)

Hi,

When viewing the Doppler radar map in the plugin, it shows Doppler radar maps for 90 minutes of radar data, however the lastest radar image is 5 hours old. When I check the doppler radar on http://weather.msn.com for zip code 49855 it shows the same start time as in the plug in for the doppler radar, but shows maps for 6 hours 30 minutes of maps.

Example; MSN Website shows Doppler Radar from 2:58pm to 9:28pm, Weather Plugin only shows 2:58pm to 4:28pm. So last 5 hours are missing.

Is there something I can do/change to make it show the same amount of radar information as the msn weather website (about 6 hours 30 minutes) instead of only the first 1 hour 30 minutes as the plugin is doing?

Thank you for any input! Great plugins you have!

General PC hardware question RE: HDD's
Posted by: Pob - 2009-02-10, 01:02 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

I like my PC's quiet, and something I have never found an answer to is why hard drives will spin-up for no apparent reason.
For example, I have one drive with the OS and programs including GBPVR, and another with just recordings on.
If I go to look at the TV guide, the recordings drive will always spin-up! Thus a delay waiting for it before the PC becomes responsive, and 30 minutes of the extra noise before it turns off again.
Same thing happens in windows if IE is launched, or the recycle bin is emptied (even though the recording drive has no recycle space allocated).
Just a minor annoyance, but something googling has not helped with...
