Hi,

I am a proud owner of a brand new PCH-A110. First of all many thanks to Martin et al. An amazing job getting GB-PVR integrated with the Popcorn Hour. I spent a long time reading all about the various PCH plugins available on the PCH forums, but when I tried out GB-PVR I was very impressed so thought I would try to go down this route instead.

So far I have got GB-PVR working on the PCH using a shared 'mvpmc' folder on my Windows XP box (Mayhem 3 skin, using latest versions of all software). I can now browse my Photos, Music and Videos on the PCH. My Photos are working perfectly, so thats fine. Single MP3s play fine. But I have some issues.

1) If I press 'Play' when an album folder is highlighted using the Music Plugin, it does not go to the PH logo, but details of the playback appear at the bottom of the screen, However no sound comes out (playing a single song works and goes to the PH logo screen). Is this a limitation of the Music Plugin?

2) Is there a way to get album art or a slideshow when playing an MP3?

3) Playing a whole album from the standard Music Library seems to play the tracks in fairly random order. The track names have the number at the start, so I was expecting it to use that to order the tracks it plays. Any way to get it to play in album order?

4) I have my DVDs ripped to VIDEO_TS on a folder on my PC. I followed the instructions to share the drive and create a share in PH, and I can do an 'ls' in telnet and it lists the folders, but when I play the DVD, nothing happens and I get 'Unabled to play DVD directories on an MVP' in the log. Works from the PC. This is my set up

XP: D:\Vids folder
GB-PVR: Directory set up called Videos, pointing to D:\Vids
PH: Share called Vids, pointing to \\PCNAME\Vids

I've just switched to 1.3.11 (thanks sub for all the help with my 0-byte file issues) and now that I'm living with it, I've found a minor issue in blue skin. (don't know if it's in other skins). When using the mouse in video lib or recordings if I click on the options on the left to delete a file or change mode, then click back on the right, I can't scroll with the mouse wheel on the right side. Rolling the mouse wheel scrolls on the left, not the right, even though focus partially moves to the right and double clicking on a file to the right works correctly. Using the remote and the right arrow works correctly, to shift focus fully to the right so that the mouse wheel works on the right. It's minor, but I thought I'd make note of it.

Hi, I posted a question about the webadmin in its forum already.. I hope no one minds, I'd like to post it here as well.

I have configured the firewall port forwarding and get prompted for a password when I access the system from the internet, but unfortunately I didn't realise I would need to set up a password. Not sure what I was thinking, but now I need to know: does any one know if there is a default username and password for the webadmin login?

Hi, I am trying to access my system from the internet right now. I got the access set up re port forwarding etc and I can see the login screen. The problem is that I didn't know there would be a login screen. I guess because I've always accessed it from inside my LAN previously I didn't get asked for that so I didn't think of it.

Is there a default username and password that will work?

I have only forward port 7647, so I might run into trouble once I log in?

I recently switched to the ATI Mux in the BDA Multiplexer. Wierd thing is that when I now record shows using the Analog tuner on the HVR1600, when I open and play back the recordings created with this Mux (in GBPVR, VLC, WMP or VideoRedo) it plays back as if it was being fast forwarded at twice the speed. Moreover, VLC shows that the recording is only half the length as the show's actual length.

I understand the BDA Multiplexer should not affect analog recordings, right? So I tried this - recorded ~3min of a show with the ATI Mux selected in BDA Multiplexer and verified the above behavior. Then, switched the BDA Multiplexer to TS Mux and recorded the same show for ~3min and the resultant file played back fine.

Not sure if BDA Mux is affecting above behavior or not but would appreciate any thoughts on what might be happening.

Edit: Some more info:
Above behavior with ATI Mux happens only if I let the show record till the end. So here are the scenarios I tried and the resultant playback:
1. Started recording in the middle of the show slot and stopped recording before the scheduled end time: mpeg file played back fine
2. Started recording in the middle of the show and let it record till the end of the show: mpeg file played back messed up
3. Started recording from the beginning of the show and then cancelled recording before the show ended: mpeg file played back fine.
Tried same scenarios as above with TS Mux and all resultant mpegs played back fine.

BTW, I switched to using recording in mpeg versus TS due to playback issues on client PC as described here.

Hello all. I've installed the software and am using it exclusively to play DVD ripped to the hard drive. I'm not setting up a tuner card (yet)

I've got it playing the videos through the PVRX2 Movie Wizard ... its showing covers, movie info, all nice stuff.

But none of the movies have any sound. When I play through VLC or other players, it is fine.

I do have an optical audio port on the PC that goes to the stereo, and that works fine with VLC, etc.

I've tried each of the "Audio Renderers" under the Playback tab, but no joy. When I go into control panel > sounds, I can hear sounds under IDT Audio1, which does not seem to work in GB PVR

My Audio Decoder shows system default, MPEG, Cyberlink, InterVideo & Nero Digital.

I'm not sure what to do next ... any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am running GBPVR 1.3.11 and when I play live tv I get no audo/video sync problems, but once I am done recording program I get some problems.

Here's what isn't out of sync:
Live TV
Buffered live TV ex. I'm watching while recording or paused live TV
DVDs

Out of sync:
Recorded programs, but only when I fastforward. If I do not fastforward, I do not have any sync problems.

I have attached my logs and I am using the Cyberlink PowerDVD8 Codec, I have also tried Nero, and ffdshow. None seem to help. My Video Renderer is EVR. VMR9 doesn't work, and I get the same errors with Overlay.

What should I do?

When it comes to GBPVR often I have to stop/start to get it working smoothly because often it is very jerky and sometimes freezing. Motherboard and CPU was upgraded and the problem did not go away. The only thing left is the video card. Gigabyte 8400GS [GV-NX84G256HE] or GBPVR config settings may be the casue of the problem ???

Currently cannot use GBPVR effectively as it is not family-friendly because the remote not behaving as expected

Rock RM-VR1 Remotes seems to do the job as MCE clone under VMC but when it comes to GBPVR its a bit useless as lot of functionalty is no longer there.

Do I have to use HIP to intergrate it into GBPVR?

If I use HIP will it affect how VMC responds to the remote.

According to this GBPVR doco it may be supported if it is a true clone of a MCE remote. .... it appears that is not the case

I currently have 2 PCI pcr-150's that are very old. I am upgrading ym system and want new hardware to move away from PCI. I am looking at these 2 cards to give me the same ability to record 2 shows at one:

Few questions:

1. First and foremost....anyone have experience with either and think one is better than the other...from what I gather they both provide the basic features, I am not worried about FM.

2. Could either card use the existing IR receiver and remote that came with my PVR-150?? so I don't need these bundle packs that come with a new remote??

3. Anyone know if both are supported "out the box" with GBPVR?
