I have just bought a DVB-T USB dongle to watch "freeview" in New Zealand. It came with ArcSoft TotalMedia, but that has several problems associated with recording, so I am trying GB-PVRv1.3.11. Recording is working fine, but....
When I attempt to play a recorded programme with PVRX2 it will start to play, video and audio are fine and in sync.
If I skip (using remote or mouse) the picture freezes, the audio skips forwards then stops after a couple of seconds.
If I press pause twice, the picture sometimes catches up, but freezes again, the audio plays for a couple of seconds again.
If I repeat this, it repeats the same couple of seconds of audio.
If I repeat pause enough times, it might just start playing sound and video again.
I have tried all the different video and audio decoder option (but not all the possible combination).
If I play the same recording with ArcSoft TotalMedia (which came with my DVB-T tuner), it will play perfectly, including skipping forwards or backwards, FFW and REW. To me this shows that the recording is fine and that the hardware is up to the job.
Uninstalling TotalMedia makes no difference.
Any suggestions for how I can get PVRX2 playing properly?
I just went to go watch some of the recordings that should have recorded earlier tonight to find that none of them had. Even weirder, I went to the 'Pending' list and it still said a show from 4 o'clock this afternoon was still pending as well as all my shows from tonight.
The clock was fine and so was everything else I could see.
Since I started and stopped GBPVR a few times trying to see if that would magically make my shows appear Most of my logs were overwritten.
The only errors I saw were
2009-02-05 23:28:18.315 ERROR [4] Error starting webserver: Could not load file or assembly 'GBPVRRecordingService, Version=1.0.3228.14980, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
and
2009-02-05 23:28:16.055 ERROR [7] Error stopping webserver: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Just wondering if anyone might know why this happened?
Thanks,
Carlito
this looks like a minor bug, but I don't really need support so I'll just put it here:
In the TV Guide, if you move to a future show and press Play, the show turns Blue as a reminder that you want to watch the show. This is as designed.
Later, when you are actually watching the show you pre-selected, you decide to record the show so you press Record, select 'Record until end of show', and then exit back to the TV Guide.
At this point, the show being recorded should be Red, but instead it remains Blue. Exiting the TV Guide and going back in does not change it, it's still blue.
I can confirm the show is recording in Recordings->Pending, but the TV Guide entry remains blue.
1; i have having issues with bad recordings. These are recordings i have made using my satellite card using the TS mux . when i play back the recording is seems like the recording is corrupted. the image and sound freezes and then jumps forwards. This can happen regularly or can just halt the recoding all together. This does not happen with every recording but about 50% at the moment !!
I have scan the hard drive for bad sectors and also defrag regularly (every two days)
2; Also when playing back good recordings, the sound is about 50% of the orginal volume. the sound is there but very muted. I have to crank the volume right up to achieve anything i can hear.
3; The other issue with out of sync happens only on my satelite card i have tried different video and audio decoders but every now and again with no reason the video goes out of sync with the audio.
I have attached logs for anyone who understands them. (the last thing i did was playback a crap recording that i had done a couple of hours earlier)
I am using the latest GBPVR version.
I used GBPVR back in 2007 before I moved toa vista machine where i now use WMC.
However im having issues with WMC and back after an alternative.
I've set up the source (nova td-500), I click map channels and it gets to this then i notice it doesn't move on, if i click the window it freezes up and goes white.
The freq? seems to be the same frequency my first group of channels come up on scanchannelsBDA which I got on the hauppauge forum.
Vista 32bit
Nova TD-500 with latest drivers.
3gb, (4gb in dual channel but only 3gig used)
Geforce 8600gts 512mb
Any other info needed please ask, i'm clueless!
Thanks
David
I know it's been requested several times in the past and declined but just wanted to feel out if there has been a change of heart yet for having a hook to allow launching an external player for PVRX2.exe for playback.
I'm trying to get episode numbers to show up but I haven't had any luck. Is it possible?
I am in Canada using Bell Express Vu satellite as my provider. I use MC2XML to grab my EPG and then I use UltraXMLTV_Enhancer to try to add enhanced information such as episode number, whether it's a new show or a repeat.
I then go to PVRX2 and select the TV Guide but none of the enhanced information seems to be appearing for any of the shows.
Am I doing something wrong?
Is this information available?
I've searched quite a bit here, and I can't find anyone else with this similar issue. I'm using EVR and I've never been able to get the screen saver to work, either the built in one or MLPanel. My TV will just sit there. With my new LCD, I'm concerned with burn in so I've taken to turning it off and on when not in use, but I'd like to avoid that.
