After upgrading to the latest version of GBPVR when I turn my PCH off it just goes to a black screen instead of reverting back to the main PCH menu.

I have upgrade the PCH firmware from the August08 version to January09 version but this hasnt made any difference.

Anybody else the same or know how to fix?

Never been able to get GBPVR running on my wife's HP a1530n (945G chipset with intel integrated video). This machine will be a client.

Since I've gotten GBPVR running on other machines (all of which have either nvidia or ATI cards), I'm thinking that there are issues with the Intel integrated video. (I saw one other thread mentioning the "big red x", but it was of no help.)

Whenever I run PVRX2 (or GBPVR in previous revs), a big red X appears on screen with the following unhandled exception details:

Hi!

I have a few hundred movies that I grabbed using the metadata grabber and I cannot import this into moviewiz so I can use moviewiz to crete the recording.xml to import that into gbpvr so I can have the files in the recording menu with the new updated movie info...

is there a batch utillity that can batch import all the .xml files and data made by the grabber? the info seems to be really good and i just need to ad that into mivoewiz so I can import the files into gbpvr

vidimport doesn't read the xml's and for some reason it can't read my file names so I get files with weird names....

mpegimport can make the xml file but it does not add the descriptions so they are all empty


I even tried to recreate the hidden metada channel and copy the grabbers info into but that was a no go

I have exhausted all avenues .

I tried to simply import a directory scan into moviewiz but it crashed on my file names and I think it wanted to make up its own search from the net insead of using the xml's we just created...

any idea what would be the best bet?

the metagrabber is awesome and I moved my files on each drive into one directory and ran the grabber and it was pretty quick and is very easy to check and correct wrong titles and I have about 600+ shows that look great in the video library screen hehe

would be killer to have the descriptions carry into the recording menu and I thought it would be easy is i used moviewiz to create the xml with all the descriptions

it is great to know if we crashed or corrupted the gbpvr database that importing one movie collection is much closer to be a sure breeze

Does anybody know how to edit these files. I have a few movies i want to keep and would like to edit out the adds and the padding. I have Studio 11 which i use with my video cam files but it will not handle these ones. I have tried to convert them to avi using a number of programs but none will handle these files. I am guessing that i may still have a codec problem. The only program that will work with these files (apart from GBPVR) is VLC media player.

Maybe a related problem but HD TV3 (NZ) files i can record, but playback wrecks the sound (pic ok). I am picking that this is also a codec problem.

What do you guys do with your digicam mov files? As is they play in GBPVR on the computer but, even after converting them to mpv using Quick Media Converter they won't play on the PCH.

I'm running GBPVR on Windows 7 - Windows 7 is Vista for all practical purposes. In any case, the configuration program and the PVRX2 must be run as administrator - no problem there.

However, I can go into the configuration, and turn off some of the plug-ins I don't use, but the next time I open the configuration, all the plug-ins are turned back on.

Any ideas?

I recently upgraded to 1.3.11. I also moved my recordings to a larger hard drive. Now, when I go to recordings, it says that there aren't any. It does show pending recordings. I changed the directory in config and tried to Import Recordings without any luck. The files are all still there, but gbpvr just doesn't show them. Is there a way I can fix this?

When playing back recordings that were recorded from a HD-PVR I can use the D-pad to jump 30 seconds at a time through a recording (makes skipping commercials possible). When the recording is off my QAM tuners (which are going to be Mpeg2) I can't skip, only the fast forward option works. Any idea why?

Will an "AVERKEY3 Plus" scan converter work for outputting to my TV?

I'm trying to set up a cheap PVR and someone offer me this used to output to my TV. My TV is currently a standard def. TV - no HD in sight yet.

The computer is a Dell Optiplex 260/270 with only 1 PCI and 1 AGP(4x) slot and an on board video output.

If this will not work, can anyone suggest a cheap video/tv out card for this system?

Does anyone have any good recommendations for a video card that is compatible with shuttle pcs? (i would assume the only restriction with shuttle is that its low power supply but i could be wrong?) I currently am using the onboard video which has an hdmi output on the motherboard, but when i try to play Blueray discs with Cyberlink's PowerDVD it says the graphics card (onboard graphics) is not capable of playing blue ray discs.


Looking for recommendations on any graphics cards known to work with shuttle pcs that play blueray fine?

As a side note, powerdvd use to work with some blueray discs and when i reinstalled the software a little while ago, it now says it cant play any discs. Not sure of the reason for this. I guess it added in a check to make sure a supported card is installed?
