  Mce remote + stb + gbpvr 1.3.7
Posted by: vskatusa - 2009-01-27, 05:48 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I am using this remote and blaster. Installed the IR blaster facing the STB.

Did the learning of the STB remote and selected MCE2005 IR BLASTER PLUGIN in config.

However, when I select the channels from GUIDE, the STB does not change the channels. Enclosed logs.

  PC Client opinion
Posted by: imagn - 2009-01-27, 05:41 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (5)

I am looking to see if the attached link would be a decent client pc. It seems small and quite, but not sure about its video card, I would be using it for HD playback mainly.

Alternatively should i just get a second PCH

  Request cannot be processed
Posted by: Mr. Camaro - 2009-01-27, 04:39 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

I've not used my PCH for a few months. It had been working fine. I decided to fire it up last night and I saw there was a new firmware update, so I upgraded to it.

I'm now at Version 01-17-090116-15-POP-402-000.

I can connect to my mvpmc share and see my telnet.html file. It opens fine but when I select "Telnet" or "GBPVR" I immediately get a "Request cannot be processed". I tried editing the script so that it just contained...

#!/bin/sh
echo "Content-Length: 29";
echo "Content-type: text/html";
echo "";
echo "Telnetd started on port 23............";
exit 0;

I get the same error with this too.

I'm running GBPVR 1.3.11 running on Windows XP. It was working several months ago. The things changed since then were the new firmware and the new GBPVR version. :confused:

  Playback Questions (780G & VMR9)
Posted by: JBreits - 2009-01-27, 03:26 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (36)

I'm new to the whole HTPC setup and have been reading these forums like crazy, but still have some questions.

My machine: ECS A780GM-A (780G IGP), AMD 4850e, Hauppauge 2250, Win XP SP3.

My initial goal is to record and playback ATSC HDTV. I did a fresh install of XP. Installed all the updated drivers for everything. Installed AC3Filter and GB-PVR. My tuner is working great (pre-release drivers from Hauppauge found ALL channels now!) and I can record with no problems. My questsions are about playback.

I have installed the lastest catalyst drivers from ATI (8.12). If I use Overlay as the renderer and ATI MPEG Decoder things seem to work OK and I get 10-20% (~35% with OSD showing) CPU usage when playing back HDTV. When I use other decoders, the CPU usage is in the 40-60% range.

First question: Is 10-20% typical for my setup, or should I be expecting less CPU usage? Does this mean my full hardware acceleration is working?

Now for the problem. If I switch to VMR9 (or VMR9 Exclusive), the playback is terrible. Jittery, skippy, colors seem to misregister (i.e. the green channel may be slightly off from other channels creating a green ghosting effect), and eventually it will just freeze the application. The application then needs to be killed via task manager. This sometimes forces a reboot.

Anyone know a fix for this, or should I just stick with Overlay? I really don't care if the OSD is semi-transparent, however I'm wondering if the inability to set an aspect ratio outside the screen dimensions will show the nasty overscan junk that is sometimes on the top of the videos.

I did actually download .NET 3.0 and tried EVR on XP but CPU was back to 40-60% usage.

Last question (a stupid one), my settings set to show in windowed mode in 16x9 aspect ratio. However, I somehow resized my window (I think by double clicking the border) and it has switched itself to 4x3 and I can't get it to switch back. Even re-installed and nothing.

Thanks,
JBreits

  Tuner Number added to the recorded file name?
Posted by: steve232 - 2009-01-27, 03:24 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (11)

I have 3 different tuner types in my system, PVR150's, 1600 and a hdhomerun.
I get recordings that have video that won't playback correctly on occasion.

It would help in debugging if I could tell which tuner recorded the video.

Could the tuner number be added to the file name or somewhere else?

Thanks
Steve

  How to connect Dish Net 211 to Hauppauge 1600
Posted by: dc9mm - 2009-01-27, 03:10 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Just got Dish Network installed. Was useing just an antenna before. Had coax cable from antenna going into the ATSC/clear QAM digital cable input on the Hauppauge 1600 cards.I have two 1600 cards.
The dish Network STB is the HD 211 box. It has coax composite component and hdmi outputs.I was hoping to record HD programming from the STB to PC. How should i connect the Dish 211 STB to the Hauppauge 1600 card??
I ask because it says in the 211 manual that coax and S video and composite are for SD TV. Not sure if thats just a recommendation or that only SD comes out of those connections only.

  Cinema Plugin v7.3 - now with Google Movies!
Posted by: McBainUK - 2009-01-27, 01:37 PM - Forum: International Cinema Listings, RSS Reader, WebCams, Calendar, Files and Screen Saver - Replies (54)

I'm planning on re-vamping the plugin (both behind the scenes and user interface wise) and reducing the showtimes sources to just the one, Google Movies.

This is an international site and doing a bit of research it looks like Google Movies covers quite a few countries. I would request that (in as many countries as possible) try this out and see if it works in your country, and works well.

As always, comments and suggestions welcome Smile

  hd capture card for stb?
Posted by: stefan - 2009-01-27, 01:20 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (7)

Hey... I've been out of the loop for a while... If I were to get an HD STB, are there any capture cards that I can feed the output from the STB to, and use in GBPVR?

I'm sick of waiting for HD channels in our DVB-T network (I doubt it'll ever happen), so thinking about switching to satellite. One option would of course be to try and get a DVB-S card and get multidec working, but it seems like a waste of money if I'm unable to make it work...

  After 1.3.7 & 1.3.11 HDHR only records on single channel
Posted by: YoMoose - 2009-01-27, 10:21 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Several weeks ago I updated my long running OTA ATSC GBPVR installation to 1.3.7, new comskip and the latest HDHR drivers and firmware. Around that time some programs would show as recorded, but when I'd go to watch one GBPVR would act as if it was going to play it, but instead would immediately return.

I've since updated to 1.3.11, including the patch, and still have this issue.

Here's what I'm observing;
- All channels work correctly with live TV on either HDHR tuner and the TV's tuner.
- If I record on only a single channel it records correctly and can be watched during recording.
- If I'm recording on one channel and try to watch live TV on another I always get a "No signal detected" message. If I cancel the recording I can immediately watch live TV on that channel.
- If I start a second recording it appears to work, but if I try and watch it while recording I get a "No signal detected" message. If I let the recording complete the dvr-ms file is always 6KB long and of course can't be played.
- If several overlapping recordings are scheduled the second one to start always fails, independent of the tuner (0 or 1) being used.

At this point I'm guessing it's some new config option I'm missing, but I'm stumped. I've attached my log files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
