  gbpvr and 64-bit Windows 7
Posted by: observing - 2009-01-21, 05:19 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

Just a short note to report that I was able to get gbpvr running under the Windows 7 64-bit beta. The only issue I have is using it with HDHomerun. The latest installation software on the Silicondust web site contains both 32-bit and 64-bit drivers and doesn't give you the option of which one to install. So, it installed the 64-bit drivers, which run fine with VLC. However, it appears to be incompatible with gbpvr. I don't know if I'll pursue this problem any further, but I thought you'd be interested in hearing the results of my experiment.

Using non-TV Tuner Video Capture Hardware
Posted by: ken.dearden - 2009-01-21, 03:16 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Does anyone know how to confugure the appropriate ini file to add a video capture device that does not have a TV tuner and to include analogue sound from a separate source?

More specifically, I want to capture the video input from an nVidia Winfast A380 Ultra video card using the composite video input interface and the sound from my Creative Audigy 2 ZS Pro Line 2 input.

If anyone wants to think about this, I can supply my Device Manager listings and a list of codecs installed on my system if that helps.

PCH & GBPVR - still black screen
Posted by: Something - 2009-01-21, 02:59 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (4)

Hey all,

my first post on the forum. A little background informatie: i am using my PCH-100 already about a year. A very good friend of mine showed me GBPVR and I thought "that's what it should look like". So I downloaded the neccesary files, printed the install manual en got started.
All the steps were not that hard to do but the end result is a black screen.

Yesterday we tried a lot of different options with that friend of mine (auto-install, changing path's, changing IP-adresses etc. etc.)
Telnet is working fine, but we still get a black screen when we start GB-PVR.

My friend knows a lot more about Linux than I do and we came to a sort of conclusion that not all mvpmc-processes are running.
I donot know exactly where to look now.

Has anyone encountered the same problem?
Anybody got a clue where to look?

All hints and ideas are welcome.
I am looking forward on using GBPVR but cannot seem to fix this problem.

Hope to hear from you.

Thanx in advance!

Marc

When I click the info button while viewing a recording it stops the video and kicks me back to the main menu. I recently just switched to vista and never had this problem on my previous install of xp.
Any ideas?

logs attached.
Thanks

  HP DVB-T/Analogue TV Tuner
Posted by: hamisht - 2009-01-21, 03:47 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

Hi,

Downloaded your software, and was wondering if there is a way of choosing this as for the intial setup 'HP DVB-T/Analogue TV Tuner' . Its built into my HP Dv51009TX laptop, and was hoping to use your software to try and tune in and pick up New Zealands 'Freeview HD'.

When I go into 'TunningAssitant.exe', All i can see is a whole lot of cards, which I assume are PCI-E or PCI cards?

  ATSC and CC
Posted by: 8ace - 2009-01-21, 03:29 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (15)

hello- please can you advise?
The broadcasted version of 24 had closed captioning.
I captured and it played fine, just no closed captionining in GBPVR.
I fired it off to my popcorn hour and ... no closed captioning.
Can someone explain what i need to do to get closed captioning w/ATSC without making a SD DVD or something?

thanks!

I've made this sticky (closed) thread to post useful information about problems that may arise, or to get useful tips out there. I'll add more information to this thread as we start to get feedback from this new release. If anyone has info they feel should be included here, please PM me.

since when am i not allowed to reply to my own post?
Posted by: glitch - 2009-01-21, 02:59 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I was going to reply to my post (subject: latest version - no A/V) but since the website is useless it wouldn't let me login to reply but yet I can login and make a new thread. Anyway, I had to reinstall my PVR-150 drivers and uninstall (repair/modify did not work; i got errors) and reinstall GBPVR before I finally got a picture with audio. For some reason I can select any INput Source under the sun and I still get a picture and audio. What's the point of that and what if I actually did have different sources other than my cable box on S-video that I wanted to record? Why do I now get the same audio and video no matter what input source I select? It's the exact opposite problem I had before (no A/V no matter what source I chose).

HP digital analog tv tuner/ Hauppauge 885
Posted by: Atreta - 2009-01-21, 02:52 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

Hi,
I have an HP digital analog tv tuner that came with my DV9000, i can get it to work with media player classic with open device(it shows as Hauppauge 885) and with the composite cable i can view playstation2 games with very good quality and sound. I was searching for a pvr software and found that gbpvr is a very good one, but i wasn't able to set it up, with the tuner assistant i was able to view some channels, however with no sound and I took note of their number and added them in the specific config option(when i click the option to choose my card and select the option to show only detected devices it shows 2 cars, hauppauge HVR 1800mce analog and hauppauge HVR 1700), and when i tried to watch it with live tv it only showed a black screen. I tried configuring to show composite too, and it didn't show anything.
Can anybody help me setting it up?
Thanks a lot, sorry for my long post.

1.3.7 BurnDVDX2 and Cinema in config but not main menu
Posted by: navyblue - 2009-01-21, 12:34 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (8)

I just un-installed GBPVR 1.3.11 and then installed GBPVR 1.3.7 so that I could use some of the available plugins. After installing 1.3.7 I first installed BurnDVDX2 and then installed Cinema. They show up just fine in the config panel, but not in the main menu. Am I doing something wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
