  conflicts when shouldn't be
Posted by: pBS - 2009-01-21, 12:13 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (15)

i have some shows scheduled that shouldn't have any problem, but it shows conflict between sources, i think it thinks my m780 can only rec one show at a time, but it's a true dual tuner..
same shows at same time i've been recording for over a year...checked times and shouldn't be a conflict, even accounting for padding....
[i have both 'try to honor padding'-true and 'prefer alternating cap sources'-true as i want the padding and have 2 atsc tuners and 1 analog]

has anything changed in this area lately?
which logs would help?

  0 Lenght Recordings
Posted by: UncleJohnsBand - 2009-01-21, 12:08 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

sub...this is like the 3rd or 4th time this has happened since the current 1.3.11 release....I am getting some recordings with 0 length files when it is done.

I have attached the logs....two shows that did not work were CSI Miami and Samantha Who.....looking at the native log I see something about a filter not being found.

I am using only the HDHomeRun as a tuner these days.

Any ideas?

I have to step out in a few so I will check back later on.

Thanks.

Top buy for UK customers - Barack Obama Action Figure!
Posted by: gEd - 2009-01-20, 11:52 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (8)

Good to see the UK embracing the free worlds best hope for a generation with all due respect .... Get them while their hot.

Seen as a superhero by so many, it's only fitting that Barack Obama should have his very own action figure! Standing 6 inches tall, and with 8 points of articulation for all the presidential poses you can think of, this Barack Obama encapsulates the spirit of hope in it's chunky plastic form.

and to complete the set

Barack Obama: President Obama Bobble Head

Don;t you just love the free market sometimes...

How do you control the server name?
Posted by: rwalker777 - 2009-01-20, 11:24 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (5)

I have VLC streaming working. I am able to get it from another machine on the LAN. However any stream that I try to pull from outside the network does not work, as the .VLC file has a URL containing the actual machine name of the computer running GBPVR (in this case the machine is called PVR). So when I am accessing using my dyndns.org address it doesn't stay on that name it gives back something like http://PVR:7647/. Is there an easy way to correct this? The alternative would be to setup a proxy rewrite rule in Apache and solve it that way.

Thanks,
Roy

  Hd? .ts?
Posted by: fausto - 2009-01-20, 08:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (18)

I'm in trouble. I volunteered to record "The diary of Anne Frank" series on BBC and I did, but now that I come to check the recordings is says that they are HD and the stored files are .ts instead of the .mpg I was expecting.

What is going on? I'm confused yet again

  PowerEvent
Posted by: AlanC - 2009-01-20, 03:28 PM - Forum: DVB-T Radio - Replies (5)

I sometimes get this error in the application logs (Windows XP) (mostly I get 'handled successfully') when the machine is going in and out of hibernation.

Failed in handling the PowerEvent. The error that occurred was: System.Threading.ThreadStateException: Thread is running or terminated; it cannot restart.
at System.Threading.Thread.StartupSetApartmentStateInternal()
at System.Threading.Thread.Start()
at BGowland.DVBTRadio.DvbtrService.OnPowerEvent(PowerBroadcastStatus powerStatus) in C:\Documents and Settings\gbpvr\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\DVB-T Radio\DvbtrService\DvbtrService.cs:line 336
at System.ServiceProcess.ServiceBase.DeferredPowerEvent(Int32 eventType, IntPtr eventData).

does anyone know what it means?

  PopupMessageBox usage
Posted by: McBainUK - 2009-01-20, 01:43 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

How are you guys using the PopupMessageBox class? In a number of areas in my new plugin I need to ask a "Are you sure?" question. The response to this is that the handlePopupCallback method is called with the button caption eg "Yes". How are you guys determining what the orgional question was?

An example: Thre are 2 places the message box is used - one for delete one for copy - both have Yes/No options. When the handlePopupCallback is called with "Yes" as the button caption how do you know if this is the Delete popup or the Copy popup...?

I have a ideas but I just wanted to know what others are doing, avoid reinventing the wheel and all that... Smile

Loop Record (i.e. default to Tivo-like behavior)
Posted by: Analogy - 2009-01-20, 11:57 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

I want an option to default to Tivo-like behavior where when I'm watching live TV, it just records whatever I'm watching no matter what so that I don't have to manually start a recording in order to pause the show. It would automatically overwrite the oldest footage with the newest footage as it goes along (or at least delete the oldest footage) so that the disk space footprint remains constant. In professional DDRs this mode is called "loop recording," because it's like recording onto a single long loop of tape that's constantly bringing the oldest segment of tape under the record head to record the newest data. (8-track did this, for those who remember it).

I would also like more flexibility about watching scheduled recordings as the show is in progress. Say I get home from work halfway into a show, I want to start catching up immediately rather than having to wait till the show ends to watch it.
