I did some searching in the forums, and it looks like some people have suggested that you could modify the sql database, to fix the names of the channel in question, but then, devs said that it will screw up on the next EPG update.
So, the only way to do this right now, would be to create your own xml file with the correct names /channels, and then import that? (How do you export the current list that it found?)
I have yet to check the source, but that seems like taking a hammer to the problem, and it really shouldn't be as hard as it is right now to change channel names when (clear) QAM don't have the correct channel name for the channel.
Can someone tell me what logs or what i can do to find out why i don't have any live tv. My guide is not updating and if i record (just for testing) something it is blank. I plugged my cable into a tv and it works fine. I've attached the logs just in case someone wanted to see them.
Recording works fine w/ the HD-PVR, but I go to playback in GBPVR, I get sound but no picture. Live TV and recordings are the same, sound/no picture. The resulting .TS file plays back fine in TME and Windows Media Player.
I have tried with and without the Arcsoft decoders installed. In media player, either the MPC decoder or ffdshow works fine.
Same problem in both XP SP3 and Vista SP1. (on seperate machines)

I currently have a PVR-150 tuner on my GB-PVR installation and the Hauppauge IR blaster unfortunately seems to be unable to control my new cable STB (Pioneer Voyager 3510 on Time Warner). I wanted to get a new remote/IR Blaster combo to control this box, and I was wondering if the following kit will work with GB-PVR (I was still unsure after reading the wiki)?
The file called MVP-PVRX2 are from the laptop that was cabled to the MediaMVP.
The other file (GBPVR-Recording...) is from my intended HTPC which was also cabled to the MediaMVP.
Both platforms running XP SP3
Both platforms had Ethernet port set with no firewall, IP address 192.168.0.1 and ICS a wireless NIC.
Both platforms running GBPVR 1.3.7
I ran from the laptop to test GBPVR while I constructed the HTPC. It ran fine loading up Slick and giving me the menu. So I then installed on the HTPC, mimicked the network setup and config.
When I try to boot the MVP, though, it never fines the streaming server, although I can see that the connection attempt was made.
To my untrained eye, it appears that instead of responding to the server request by serving the dongle, it received another BOOTP request and stopped?
I verified that no GBPVR services were running on the laptop when I tested the HTPC and that Hauppauge services were stopped.
The cable is a crossover (and it worked from the laptop).
My Technotrend S2-3200 DVB-S2 card seems to work pretty well when playing channels in GBPVR. However it seems to be completely incapable of performing a channel scan of Astra 28.2e. It has always crashed the config program with a windows message box saying GBPVR configuration has encountered a problem and needs to close. It closes and leaves a 0 length cache file.
I have been getting by with a cache file kindly provided on here, but it's out of date now. I'm sure someone would provide me with a new one, but I would prefer to be able to generate one myself.
Is the cache file in a format that is used by another utility? Is there any way of running a command line version of the scan command I can try? The Technotrend scan utility finds all of the channels, so I know the hardware and drivers are OK, but I can't use the data.

I'm having a small issue with my HVR-2250. Currently I have it configured for clearQAM and standard definition analog, both recieved over cable. The digital recording works fine (now that I've got it configured correctly.) My issue is with analog recordings. Every so often a recording will fail. Instead of recording the program, I get a constant blue screen without any sound. This appears to be a random issue, as I am able to record analog successfully one day, and the next day the recording will fail. The failure is not due to a tuner conflict, as the failed recording was the only scheduled recording that night, and I was not using the computer for live TV. Any thoughts? I'm running version 1.3.7.
I'm using GBPVR 1.3.7 and installed these to try them out, but after installing, none show up anywhere. They do not show up in config/plugins nor the Main Menu. I have seen where at least a couple of these are being used under v1.3.7, so I had hoped that they might work for me, but no luck.
Anyone having success with any of these under v1.3.7?

I'm currently looking to change my GBPVR setup to a client-server one, as I'm currently running the backend and frontend on my fileserver, sitting behind my TV. It works, but it's not how I want it!
The server is a plenty powerful box (2xDualCore Xeons, 2GB RAM, Windows XP Pro), so I'll be using that to stream both live TV, recorded shows, and other video material (including HD content).
I know you can run the GBPVR frontend on something less powerful than my phone, but I'm quite out of date with current hardware requirements for HD stuff.
What I want is something that's going to be able to playback at least 720p .mkv's, obviously standard def stuff, and possibly in the future HD content through DVB-S2.
I've been looking at something like a ASUS M3A-H/HDMI with AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400+ (2.8GHz) - but I don't know if that's up to scratch? Between that processor and the onboard graphics, will they handle HD content?
I'm also ideally looking for something low-powered...don't wanna be breaking the bank with the power consumption...but it's not the end of the world. Most important is keeping the price down. I don't really want to be spending much more than £150 on the mobo, CPU and GFX.
