Hi Guys,

just trying out IR server with an Hauppauge MCE remote and transceiver and it seems like that the combination can receive and process any IR signal. For instance, I set my universal remote to TV (which is set to my sony TV) and IR server can figure it out. As an example, I mapped my "1" key to "111" and it worked. Can anyone else confirm this?

If this is true, then I don't need my universal remote to learn the mce commands which can save a lot of overhead nor do I really need the mce remote.

I set up a Vista client which works fine whenever I am logged in (as an administrator). The problem is when my son is logged in to his own account (non administrator) PVRX2 crashes on startup as if the server can not be found/accessed (aka full screen red "X" error). Seems to be some sort of Vista user permission issue. Any suggestions?

I've been having intermittent troubles with recordings not stopping on time. In some cases, the recording carries on (i.e. the file keeps on growing). In others, the recording finishes but the tuner card is not released at the end.

It particularly seems to happen when I'm trying to record a series of consecutive programmes.

Here is an example from today.
Pokemon Diamond and Pearl was scheduled to record:
1st episode 7:00 to 7:25
2nd episode 7:25 to 7:55
3rd episdoe 7:55 to 8:25
at 11:06, I checked episodes 1 and 2 had recorded, size not changing, file modified times 7:27 and 7:55, but 'Hauppauge Tuner 1' was still busy and showing on status display as recording 'Pokemon Diamond and Pearl'.
The 3rd episode had not recorded. 'Recordings' screen showing it as 'Failed'

At the same time, Match of the Day was scheduled to record 7:40 to 9:00
at 11:06 I noted file size was still changing, access time 7:39 and Happauge Tuner 2' busy recording it.

Please let me me know if you have any ideas about a solution for this bug. Otherwise it's a great piece of software (and keep up the good work!!).

By the way, the schedule of programming recurs weekly, and it looks next week we will have exactly the same set of things trying to record, so the problem may repeat. If there's any further monitoring or fact-finding you'd like me to try then, please let me know.

is there any chance you can add the ability to start playing a video file at a given position ?

i want to add the ability to "resume" or "start" to my plugin, and want to store the playback position (what gbpvr stores in its database) in my database, so i can stop a movie in one room and resume it in another (my database is shared between all computers, but the gbpvr one is not)

I recently upgraded to an HVR-1600 and have the NTSC Analog working properly under GBPVR. But I've got a bit of a problem with the ATSC side and I hope you guys can help me out:

I attached an antenna to the ATSC connector and got several broadcast ATSC channels working using WinTV6, they detect with solid signal strength and I get picture/sound.

I followed the instructions on ATSC HD recording ("Configuring OTA ATSC HD channels (USA)") and set up a second capture source as the HVR-1600 ATSC digital tuner, configured a second XMLTV source for listings. I clicked the “Map Digital Channels to EPG Channels” window and the scan process began. During the scanning process, GBPVR will "detect" channels with strength and quality, but show no preview. When done, it says "No channels found"

Is there something I'm missing? Thanks in advance for your help!

I have being udsing version 1.1.5 for some time now with two MVP's with few problems. I recently decided to upgrade to 1.3.7 and have had some major issues.

Firstly I can no longer use the MVP to watch live TV. Recordings work fine but when I choose to watch live TV the screen goes black for a few seconds and then returns to the TV guide. I cleared out the log folder, restartd the PC and then tried to start a live TV seesion and have enclosed the logs and a copy of my config.xml just in case someone can see what is going wrong. I have since reverted to 1.1.5 and all is well again. Does 1.3.7 require a more powerful PC as I know my 1.7Ghz PentiumM was a bit undererpowered for use with an MVP but worked fine for a long time.

The other issue is related to my capture card, a DVICO FusionHDTV Dual Digital. When using 1.3.7 it seems to be fine but after a day or so the USB tuner stops working - but is fine in the DVICO software. A reinstall of gb-pvr resolves the problem for another day.

Hi All,

FYI, I bought the philips SRU 4008/27 universal remote and just wanted people to know that it can learn all the MCE remote codes. It's a bit finicky, but if you follow the instructions as to how to teach the codes then you'll be successful.

I can now control my TV, cable box, VCR and GBPVR from one remote...it even learned the power button from the MCE. I designated the DVR button to control GBPVR.

The remote is decent, with back light and a glow in the dark backlight button. The only thing I can complain about is that the buttons are a bit mushy and that it doesn't seem to respond as quickly as the real remote.

I paid $20 CAD at Wal-mart.

I just put GBPVR on a new system and installed, but when I run PVRX2 the window comes up but seems to be stuck with just my desktop backgroun in it. My video renderer is "Overlay Manager" because "VMR9 Custom" didnt work.. error msg popped up.

Any idea how I can fix this?
