Problem:
1. Audio disappears when moving from one recorded tv program to another. To get the audio back, I have to exit out of the PVRX2 program and re-start it. Sequence of events are as follows:
A. In the recording menu, I select a recorded tv program and select play.
B. I then select stop on the currently playing recorded tv program.
C. I then navigate to a different recorded tv program and select play. The audio can no longer be heard.

2. The Video is a little jittery as well. I used some ones suggestion on replacing the directX 9.0c quartz.dll file with the directX 9.0b quartz.dll file. This cleared the jitter a little but still does not appear as smooth as it should.

I reproduced the Audio issue stated in problem number 1 at approx. 3:15pm CST on 1/9/2009 and zipped up all the logs in the log directory as requested by "SUB". I will attach the zip file in this thread.

I have a recording server, and am playing back live tv to another pc.

This is over a power line based Devolo dLan which reports 120Mbps upstream
(from my recording server), so should be fine.

But I am getting bad stuttering.

Playback is fine for 10 seconds when it starts live replay, but it then deteriorates and stutters badly.

Windows is reporting 3.5-3.8MBytes/sec network transfer rate, which should only be about 24Mbps, so should be fine. If I try and copy a file at the same time it doesnt get much/any worse and the transfer rate goes up a bit.

CPU utilisation is 50% with the overlay renderer.

I'm using PVRX2 on vista and I've tried several different renderers and mpeg2 decoders.

Ok, I built an HTPC with the goal of minimal noise and power as the goal (while being as fully functional as possible).

The specs are as follows:

780G based motherboard (FOXCONN A7GM-S)
Athlon 5050e (dual core 2.6ghz low wattage version)
2 Gigs of Corsair memory (DDR2 800)
Hauppauge HVR-2250 Capture Card.
500 Gig Seagate HD (seek is kinda loud, blows the whole quit PC thing)


I have installed Windows XP Professional 32 Bit version w/ latest updates (and SP3).

The board itself seems to have issues with XP that do not exist under Vista (sound problem where the non-HDMI output driver is not default and is difficult to access or to even install if you do not install drivers in exacting order).

Ok, the issue. All hardware accelerated playback tears and is very annoying. This is regardless of codec selected (I have installed K-lite, CCCP, and various other codecs). It looks nice, but tears. When using hardware mode it uses approximately 8-10% of CPU.

In software mode I do not like the de-interlacing and the picture is not as clean, but it doesn't tear (and takes like 12-15% of CPU).

Situation is similar when trying other applications like media player, media player classic, or even BeyondTV.

Has anyone else been able to get a similar setup to look nice with hardware decoding. Is there something that I am doing wrong, every post I read says the onboard ATI HD 3200 should be enough to run any content I would come accross.

I have a copy of vista business that I am not using that I could install on the machine at some point in the future (if it turns out to be an un-resolvable driver issue) if needs be, but I would rather not.

-Other things I have tried include lowering resolution, overclocking the CPU (can get over 3ghz without changing voltage), setting the vertical sync in 3d settings to always on, and hopping on one foot while whistling the national anthem.

Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Here is a utility to automatically map your BDA channels if you have an HDHomeRun. It will map any ATSC/QAM tuner but you need to have an HDHomeRun. HRC channel mapping is not supported yet. If someone can send me a DigitalCable.xml and a scan cache file for HRC, I can add it.

To use:

1. Configure your capture source and EPG.
   
2. Perform a scan in GBPVR config and exit the channel mapping window.
   
3. Perform a scan in the HDHomeRun Setup.
   
4. Enable the channels that you want to map and disable those that you don't.
   
5. For the "Guide Name" in the HDHomeRun Setup, enter the "Channel Name" from the GBPVR capture source configuration screen.
   
6. Apply changes and exit HDHomeRun Setup.
   
7. Exit the capture source configuration in GBPVR Config (you don't need to exit config completely but you can).
   
8. Run the utility and select the lineup on the left you plan to use (Antenna or Cable).
   
9. Select the tuner on the right that you want to map.
   
10. Click "Map Channels to Guide".
    
11. Edit the capture source configuration to verify that the channels were mapped.
    

i use a external hard drive for when i go away
what i want is a batch file or similar that runs when i plug the external hard drive in so it auto runs and imports the movies for me

Anyone know how i would do this?

I have a HVR-1600 and I like to record HD clear-QAM programming. The playback quality on my PC is really nice. I have been using the default dvr-ms encoding.

Just this week I got a MVP to play around with. I immediately tried to play one of the HD recordings, and of course, no luck. I checked the forums, and found that this issue has been covered numerous times (should have done my homework I suppose).

Anyway, there seem to be some who indicate that it is possible, with the correct transcoding. (I have installed ZProcess and and trying to get that working, but that is another thread.) Others say that if I change encoding from dvr-ms to TS or something else, it may work.

Has anyone been actually been successful doing this? If so, could you please share your setup?

A couple of problems:

First of all, ComSkip is not processing all of my files. It only processed, for example, 9 out of the last 21 recordings.

Also, over the last few days, GBPVR has started converting all MPG recordings to AVI's even though I have it set to "No processing".

I had been able to see bda.grf and lastused.grf (name may be wrong) files in the GBPVR folder before. I uninstalled/deleted folder/reinstalled the program to get rid of plugins and the obsolete skin and common stuff for them. Now I can't find .grf files anywhere. Yes, hidden files are showing. any help out there? Thanks

I am using GBPVR 1.3.7 on fully-patched Windows XP with a Blackgold 3540 card with twin DVB-S tuners in the UK (standard Sky type minidish). There is no usable DVB-T signal here.

Certain channels are consistently NOT found in a full scan, though most are.
Those same channels are found every time by Cyberlink Powercinema software running on exactly the same setup.
Missing Channels include: BBC News, BBC2, BBC3, BBC4, Channel4

I have followed the advice in threads 39613 and 39446
including the new psiparser patch but it made no difference.

Can you help? Logs will follow, once I've rebooted and scanned again to ensure they are "clean".

I have got into the habit of starting up netradio in the afternoon before I start washing all the bowls & preparing the food for my Parrots etc. & just leaving it playing from then on until evening. I have noticed with some of the stations it will just stop playing & drop back to the menu.

I have done a bit further investigation & have noticed when I looked in my recordings directory it seem to have dropped out when the temp file size get to be 195,328 KB as there have been lots this size but none any bigger. Is this the expected behavior?
