I have seup with a Hauppagge HVR4000 with both DVB-T and DVB-S feeds. It all works fine if I change channel through the top level program guide that displays full screen. However, channel changing with pg-up/pg-down, the mini-gude or the full guide (showing only at the foot of the screen), it often fails with "no signal".
Some scenarios are reproducible. E.g. using DVB-T only and can reliably Pg-up form BBC1 to BBC2, but a second Pg-up to ITV1 always fails.
On an unrelated topic, is there any easy way to re-order the buttons after clicking OK on the Program Guide to make <Watch> the default action on a second OK key?
A couple of items that would be great to have to enhance recordings management.
1. Our recordings list is becoming large and unmanageable. It would be very useful to be able to setup multiple recordings folders and to be able to specify a recording folder at the time a recording is setup so that recordings can be grouped. eg. Childrens, Documentaries, Movies etc.
2. The titles on many TV Series change in the EPG each week which causes recurring recordings to fail. eg "Time Team: Castle Camelot", "Time Team: some dank swamp in the middle of nowhere". I am using a DVB-T card with the DVB EPG Broadcast.
It would be very useful if it was possible to edit the Title when a recording is setup and for the recordings tool to search for "Contains" rather than an "Exact match". "Exact Match / Contains" may need to be an option.
I have tried EWA but it would be much better if this could be done within the standard recordings tool rather than having to fire up another pc / utility / keyboard.
If the pointer jumped to the end of the title when editing we would use the remote to delete the unecessary characters and shorten the title search string.
We have GBPVR working as a standalone HTPC and it is pretty superb - but this would certainly make setting up recordings much more effective for us.
Please excuse me if I have missed a method for doing this - if so guidance would be much appreciated. Number 2 looks like it should be a fairly common problem - but I may have missed something.
Well I just upgraded my Dell Optiplex 745 to a 760. While I was at it I switched from XP to Vista Ultimate (not sure why I did that.... kinda wanted to play with media center). I added a blu-ray reader and added the Hauppauge 1800 card in addition to the 1600 that I already had.
Every thing went fairly smooth but I am having a few issues and I changed so much stuff around I am not sure what the exact problem may be.
First of all when I go to watch live tv (analog or digital) it tells me the card is in use. If I try a second time it will show the channel just fine. I go to check the status of the cards and it tells me the 1800 is in live preview mode. It seems like it tried the 1800 first and give me that message. The next time I try it, it goes to the 1600 and works fine. If I disable the 1800 card and remove it as a capture source things seem to be fine. I have not tried to use just the 1800 by it's self.
Next issue is that sometimes and it seems to be mainly with the 1800 card that the picture in with the digital ATSC looks very blocky and mostly green and some red. Kind if like it is running with just a couple colors and ultra low resolution. The sound comes in just fine. I am pretty sure I have good signal strength as my antenna setup has not changed. I did have to put in a splitter to get my antenna signal to both cards.
I also tried to change the capture device # but when I do it tells me "The drivers for the device you have configured do not seem to be installed. Are you sure you want to continue?" I have not said yes and continued. I also tried to run the device type check utility to pull the device #'s from my hauppauge cards but it comes back empty.
I hope I gave enough detail for someone to be able to help.
In the spirit of Christmas past (this week) I've had a Dicken's of a time trying to get HDMI to achieve what I showed here http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...stcount=15 The good news is I can do this with both component HD and composite/svideo SD.
The purpose of this poll is to find out how important HDMI is to you for enjoyment of your PCH with GBPVR. The option is potentially the status quo for many months.
I've got a DVB-C card here at present and have cable working great with MDAPI. I just seem to have a small issue in that the existing Freeview|HD channels turn to custard with broken picture and audio if MDAPI is enabled. If I disable MDAPI thinks work great.
Any ideas what is causing this? I've attached the logs..
I've been speaking to physik and he's mentioned a few of the issues with multirecord etc, I'm just wondering in a future release where it might be possible to have an option in the tuner to disable MDAPI on a per tuner basis to stop MDAPI loading? Even without the above issue there is still quite a delay entering live TV which is obviously unnecessary since MDAPI isn't required.
I use gbpvr for movie dvds & mpegs (through MovieWiz), though i haven't found a good plugin for using gbpvr with my collection of music videos (~700 or so)
Has anyone had success with an extensive collection of music videos (e.g. manage by title, artist, etc)? Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
I been tinkring with gbpvr in win7 got everything working well except for graphedit redering a graph for graphrecorder.No matter what i tried I alwasy get this in graphedit.
Any ideas?
I have GB-PVR installed on a PC which also have the latest DIVX codes from DivX.com installed. My DivX movies are named *.divx.
The problem is, that when playing a divx movie GB-PVR looses focus in Windows. The pose a problem because using the keyboard does not work, as GB-PVR has lost focus. I have to use the mouse and click on the screen and then the keyboard controls GB-PVR again :confused: I have set the taskbar to disapear automatically and when I play a divx movie, I can see a tiny bit of the taskbar re-apearing at the buttom of the screen.
I have tried to rename the DivX movies to .avi but that did not help. MPG and VOB files leaves GB-PVR with focus and the keyboard works as expected.
