I have a nice MCE remote (this one: http://www.gyration.com/default.aspx?l=e...ediaRemote). They don't include any software with it, nor is there any on the web site, it's supposed to 'just work' with MCE.

All the standard buttons work fine in GB-PVR, so it's pretty usable, but none of the special buttons do anything (including the big green 'Windows logo' button).

Can I configure these buttons somewhere in a GB-PVR config file, or do I have to resort to a third party utility?

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas/suggestions on how I could view the PVRX2 app in 4:3 and 16x9 aspect ratios on a 16x10 display.

Right now I'm designing themes on a 16x10 LCD monitor and viewing them on a 16x10 CRT and when in windowed mode PVRX2 scales to 16x10 as it's resized. I've tried the old command line switch for position and size, but no luck. edit: just to say the aspect ratio selection in the config app only affects video for me

Bought a Platinum HD and trying to get it integrated in GBPVR. I am looking at modifying the direct.ini file to get it to work but I thought I would post for help also. Included is my FilterCheck.log

Thanks to everyone who has recently reported errors in the Torrent plugin.

I've double checked the install and I can confirm the ISOHunt.DLL is missing, without this the searching will fail repeated.

Here is the missing DLL

This dll needs to placed into the GBPVR\Plugins\Torrents Directory.

McBainUK is away at the moment so I'll get him to repost the installation files when he returns.

No doubt this has been discussed before, but the answer tends to change over time....

I'm readying a 'production' GB-PVR machine. It's a dual-core A64, 1GB RAM, GeForce 7600gs with component out. I need to choose an OS; I know GB-PVR works on any current Windows, but I need to know if there are benefits to one or another.

Readily available I have XP Pro and Vista Business.

If there were a compelling reason to do so, I could probably scrounge up an XP Home or a Vista Home Premium license.

I know Vista enables the EVR renderer; is that great and wonderful? I know Home Premium includes a MPEG2 decoder that Business lacks, but is that decoder really worth pursuing?

Many of you may know I am working on and installer for GBPVR and the PCH which will do the following (most are optional) primary for PCH users. The install is tedious and I am hoping to smooth it but it is turning into a big installer. Would you as first time users think the following is too much?

What I am looking at scripting for the first release.

A. Basic install
- download and install GBPVR msi
- download unzip and install VC run time
- download and unzip survivor guide patches
- download and unzip my favourite patches

B. PCH customization
- make config.xml changes for PCH
- create mvpmc share
- download and install mvpmcx2
- create pch install script
- configure recording service to interact with desktop

C. Skin and plugins

- download unzip and run Music plugin installer
- download unzip and run Mayhem 3 skin installer

So i have been using GBPVR now for 3 years, its my main 24/7 media server for the whole house via 6 MVPs, recording CCTV 24/7 besides the normal uses for mp3, pictures, tv etc..

But to make the 'package' perfect for my needs i have the below wishlist;
(If there is already a config tweak for some of these PLEASE let me know!)

1) When starting live tv and the channel selected is recording, start playing from the end, so its 'live', same as UK SKY+.

2) Ability to choose the 'default' channel when selecting 'live tv' main menu option. It never remembers the channel if it is still recording for me :mad:

3) Search facility for music library - I dont like third party plugins very much, all i need is a simple search similar to 'search tv guide'

4) simple zoom for picture library - like we had before PVRX2

5) and finally a return of the default youtube plugin!

After upgrading to 1.3.7 whenever I try to 'Map Digital Channels to EPG' config.exe crashes when scanning. It seems to be able to get to channel 14 of 138 then crashes every time. (Channel 14 is also the first channel that displays any signal strength) I tried a fresh install but that did not change my luck.

If i put the .cache file that used to work with 1.2.13 in the BDA folder, config crashes immediately upon opening the Map channels screen. If I'm quick enough I can press the 'Stop' button and can map to channels in the old .cache file. After doing this I can then make TS files but there is no audio/video and pvrx2 crashes. (I believe pvrx2 crashing is a separate problem but mention it in case its related)

Any ideas on why the scanning might be crashing config?

I'm sure it's not the first time this question is asked, but I couldn't find any data on this in the wiki, or by searching the forum.

My primary hard disk was replaced, so I had to install win xp again, as well as GB-PVR. all my tv recordings remained on a separate hard drive, but of course, the new installation does not know of their existence.
Is there any way of forcing GB-PVR to show them as recorded shows (by using a plugin, or editing a certain file manually)?

Just trying this out and it looks great.

One problem is that all I get is one search. I start the PVRx2, open torrent, type 'ubuntu' as example screenshot, and hit enter. I get a list of stuff

Then I pop up to the search box and type something else. I tried the move "The Pursuit of Happiness". No search results. Then I tried ubuntu again and nothing.

I can stop and start the pvrx2 gui, and I get one search. I did that with the movie too. Lots of hits on first try...

In the config, I have all three sites checked...
