was trying to make some changes to the Wiki for better documentation, added v 1.3.7 for plugins but really don't understand the syntax and pages I need to access.
So I received my PCH several weeks ago and have been in the process of converting over to a Client/Server implementation of GbPvr. So far so good with the PC client. The only problem I have (and this has already been reported) is time display and skip issues in TS Mux recordings.
The server records everything just fine, so I guess I shouldn't complain, but what I cannot do is run Pvrx2.exe on the server. When I do, the frame of the application comes up, but it contains a blank screen. The server is running Windows Server 2003, so I'm sure it is probably just missing something that is normally contained in XP, but I don't have a clue what it might be. Anybody else seen this problem?
I'm giving my Nova another whirl, as the new release support multiple recordings from the same transponder. This works well and the recording come out fine. However Live TV wont work well. Every few sec the picture skips/stops/hiccups, sound is fine. I've tried all my know settings but to no avail. I get the best with Dscaler, but still a prob. Encoder pass is set to non, have tried pass thu but a bit worse? hard to tell.
Since sub has now added support for SoftMCE, can I ask has anyone got this working? Is it stable?
I have a HVR-900 but unfortunately it is an older model not supported by SoftMCE (Hauppauge's stupid system of giving different hardware the same model number). Has anyone got a HVR-1100 working with SoftMCE. They are being sold cheap in my local computer shop.
I'd buy a hardware encoder, but I only have 2 analogue channels not on my DVB-T card, and the picture quality of them wouldn't justify the expense of a hardware card.
I'm trying to set up my PCH in my Harmony remote but I can't find it in the list of devices. Does anyone know if the PCH has been added and, if so, under what name? I suppose I could teach it but I'd prefer to use an existing device definition if possible. The remote is a 676 if that matters.
Since the upgrade to 1.3.7 I cannot for the life of me get H.264/AC3 recordings to playback in sync (mainly the BBC HD channel). They start off ok, but have lost it within 30 seconds or so. A pause will resync for another 30 secs... I had this problem with the previous version but setting the config entry "UsePowerDVD8forTS" (I forget the exact wording here, I'm writing this at work, with no access to the PVR box) to true solved the problem. However it seems to have no effect at all in 1.3.7. I have to use PDVD8 for H264 playback as it's the only thing I've found that will play the Irish DTT SD channels. I've also not found anything other than AC3Filter that will send AC3 unaltered to the SPDIF for my external amp to decode. Oddly live TV preview mode is fine, never goes out of sync. But timeshift or recording playback is out within 30seconds.
