I will make the long story short. Currently running 1.3.7
I have used GBPVR for a very short time successfully few hours months ago before the release 1.2.13. I could scan then. Since the last two release I can not scan for the life of me. If I install fresh and leave everything on default, including <BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>15</BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>
then 9 our of ten times it scans, but almost all channels all unknowns.
So I increase the time to 60,90,120. I get channels but then, always while scanning, at different transponders, the scan dies, config.exe closes, everything clean, I can not see anything in the log to show what could cause this. I really want to start using GBPVR. I have re-installed and scanned more times than I can count. So I give up. I am asking for help.
Some configuration:
P4 1G ram winxp sp3
twinhan 102g dvb-s
DVBDream works perfectly, it scans, it is not the card or disecq.
Even Mythtv worked for me.
I have attached the latest logs. I really belive it is something in my PC disrupting the scan, just can not figure out what.
Just formated and installed clean windows and put a freash GBPVR install on it.
However when i scan DVB-t the above channels are missing. All other are ok though.
i have an my old DEVNZ directory backed up. Is there any way I can find data in back up I have made and then manualy put it into the new GBPVR installation so I can get these channals back.
I ham in the process of setting up a new GBPVR server after testing with my main PC and PCH.
However although the new GBPVR server works fine, I cannot connect to the c:\mvpmc share I have created on the PCH.
The share settings are the same as my original share on my main PC, so I have no idea what is wrong.
I have reset to factory the PCH, and ensured the firewall is turned off, PCH sees the share available on the new server, but wont connect or browse the contents.
I have just setup my popcorn hour to access gbpvr. So far so good. But I can seem to access the shares I add in config.exe
When I run PBRX2 on the desktop the shares work fine, but when I try to access them on the popcorn hour, I see the share name, but clicking it does nothing.
I have tried editing config.xml to use //xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/shares instead of a mapped drive letter, but that didn't seem to help either.
I am soo close to having it all running. Hope someone out there has a few words of wisdom.
I have 2x PCTV Dual Hybrid Pro 3010iX cards, and i can't get channels to show up.
Opened TVCenter Pro provided by pinnacle and watched tv, it works well and the program shows signal quality is 100 but considering its digital i guess its not much to go on
openedgbpvr config > capture sources tab > Add > Name set to C1T1 > recording source: Digital Recording Plugin > EPG Source: DVB EPG Broadcast > Recording source settings.
The devices in the machine are shown up as BlackGold BGT3540 DVB-T > device number 1 > all regions > and all channels > Ok to exit the dialogue
Update EPG > Save EPG?: OK > window pops up saying its scanning, but no channels
Edit: I also clicked map digital channels to epg channels and i get: GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device that you have configured.... Clicking Ok then says:
Unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error.. i clicked continue and tried these but none worked:

I am having occasional pixelation issues when the show/video being viewed is dark. In addition, I sometimes get jerky movement (people nodding their heads comes to mind).
Is this an issue with my cpu (AMD 1.8ghz), my graphics card (Nvidia 256), a combo, or something else entirely?
Since update to 1.3.7 I see jitters in the menu on MVP only. When scrolling down the recordings list, for example, each list item seems to shrink slightly on first move, then a list item seems to shrink when it moves two away from focus. Buttons also jitter slightly. This is on blue and community skin, in all modes.
On the main menu I don't see it with blue, but with community, the menu list and the task image seem to move slightly at different times, after scrolling. I do have the new TVRecordings panel going on the main menu of community.
Not a big deal, just catches my eye. Anyone else seeing this?
Using 1.3.7 live TV displays in 16x9 even though I have Television Shape set to 4x3 on the Playback tab of the configuration program. How can I get live TV to display in 4x3?
I've had a long battle with this HDPVR. This is the third computer I've installed it on. The previous 2 were under spec'd so I won't hold that against it. I've now successfully installed the card on a Vista 32 machine Intel quad core Q6600 machine. It records using the included Arcsoft software with no problems and the playback on my PS3 looks great.
When I try to use GBPVR with it things don't go so well. I've attached two sets of logs for the following two tests:
Watching live TV:
I can go to the TV guide, select a program and the program will display but with no audio. I can even change channels. If I exit back to the guide and select a different channel I just get a black screen with no video. At this point the HDPVR is non-responsive even using the arcsoft software and I have to power cycle it.
Recording TV:
After a fresh re-boot of the computer and HDPVR I tried recording TV. The HDPVR top light and red record light come on momentarily (maybe 1 second) and then turn off. A garbage 128Kb ts file is created. At this point the HDPVR is non-responsive even using the arcsoft software and I have to power cycle it.
One other thing I would like to mention. If I have attempted either of the two scenarios and then attempt to restart my computer Vista will fail to boot-up. I get a screen which then asks me if I want to repair or start windows normally. neither of those options work. The only thing that works is to turn off the HDPVR and then restart the computer. Once the computer has booted I can turn the HDPVR back on.
I was thinking about exchanging the HDPVR for a new one but since I can record with arcsoft no problem I'm getting doubtful that will solve my problems. FYI the HDPVR is a rev C2
