A new problem just started. After a reboot, my TV display (ATI 2nd monitor S-Video connected to TV) started stuttering. CPU usage is very high for PVRX2 (95+%).
If I set the display to windowed and move it to the primary display, stuttering is gone and CPU usage drops back to less that 50%. If any part of the PVRX2 window is moved to the secondary monitor, stuttering returns and CPU usage rises. Any ideas?
where MT490 is the GBPVR server name and mvpvc the share name.
I can access the telnet.html from the PCH cource screen but when I select telnet I get the message Request Cannot be Processed, press return key to return to previous screen.
I had to wind back the clock today due to a crash, the image I went back to was a backup I did just before I installed DBT radio. yet tonight I cant get it to work after installing. It's causing PVRX2 to hang, I get a very brief glimps of the left hand menu when I select radio from the main menu but after that I just get the skin background and a hanging PVRX2.
Very strange as I'm sure I did nothing different on this install.....take a look at the logs.
I was just ready to put the HTPC in the entertainment center and now I've gota small issue that's crept up . . .
I originally loaded GBPVR with a PVR-150 MCE card on Windows Vista Ultimate and used the Vista driver and had the timestamp issue. I switched to using the latest Hauppauge driver and it went away.
I've since switched to Windows XP Pro SP3 and ran GBPVR with the PVR-150 and the latest Hauppauge driver without issue - I have 23 recordings that used that card and not one issue.
I added a PVR-500 MCE (with the Philips tuners) and have just noticed that a few of my recent recordings have the time stamp issue, 3 out of 18 recordings have the problem and it seems that those recordings having problems were made when I was recording two programs at once.
So what's the fix here? I'm running the most recent drivers from Hauppauge, would the alternate drivers on the GBPVR Wiki be better although they are older? Should I try the registry fix?
I've had the HTPC hooked up to the TV the last couple days and have been using it both for timeshifting and channel surfing and so far so good! I'm really enjoying it and am ready to finish the project up, just need to quash this little bug!
I've been wanting to do this for a long while but never really knew what I was going to do.
My PC has built in sound, where I can switch the mic and line ports to be surround, sub woofer and center speaker... so I in effect have several discreet line outs..
I could get a game speaker system that has the different 1/8" jacks, but most of what I've seen is a little whimpy for a medium sized living room...
I'm thinking I will hold off getting a new fancy spdiff/optical thingy. Until I have a PC that has optical out...I'm not sure if I have spdiff with coaxial(rca), though...maybe...
anyway, I might grab a second hand system. but I'm not sure what to look for, using older tech...
And once I have the physical, what do I need to do to make sure my ac3/5.1 files play on all the speakers...?
And if I remember correctly, there was a config for having ffdshow take a stereo or 4.0 sound and average out audio for a center speaker...
Just noticed that mtv have started this side with +16k music clips on it. Would be cool to have it in gbpvr. there seems to be also a api for dealing with the content: http://developer.mtvnservices.com/docs/Home.
Anyone knows how to handle (temp download and convert to mpg ?) the flash videos? Or how to play from within gbpvr ? Is there something to learn from the youtube plugin ?

I just got installed 2 Hauppauge 2250 in my HTPC. One is allocated to tune into QAM channels and the other is used just for analog cable channels. When I go from QAM channels to analog I lose sound. It does not happen when I switch from analog to QAM. I've attached the logs but I didn't see any errors. I've also tried different audio decoders including the ac3filter and other different configurations.
