Current zap2xml or other EPG instructions?
Posted by: pisomojado - 2022-02-04, 04:56 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (3)

I use nextpvr once or twice a year, when my wife wants to watch olympics or new years celebrations, so I'm not interested in buying a subscription to Schedules Direct. I'd like a free solution, if there is one.

I tried using this guide, but it didn't work. The instructions are old, definitely not for Windows 10. https://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php....EPGMC2XML

I found this 7 year old post in the legacy section, but I'm using the latest Nextpvr software: https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...ht=zap2xml

Are there any current directions?  I'm in western USA.  Smile

  Runaway beeps
Posted by: Armsp0 - 2022-02-03, 07:54 AM - Forum: NextPVR iOS and AppleTV Clients - Replies (1)

Runaway beeps when navigating the guide using the touchpad of the apple remote.
It seems that when  the upper lower or outer bounds of the guide are reached my Apple TV 4K box starts beeping as if the select button is being held down, occasionally the beeping will stop by itself but mostly it will only cease if I mains power the appleTV box down and back up from cold. If I power off the box using the Siri remotes' power button and then power back on, the beep train resumes as soon as NextPVR is selected. It's not generated by the NextPVR server as I powered that down first to see if that would stop it but the beep train kept on runnin'

  missing audio decoders
Posted by: dominator99 - 2022-02-02, 09:08 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (36)

Hi All

I have nextpvr 5.2.5 (220111) installed on 2 Windows 10 Pro x64 PC's. One of the PC's shows 5 audio decoders the other PC only shows 2 decoders; this means when I get the error 'missing audio? you don't have an AAC decoder selected' I can't select an AAC decoder as the option isn't listed! The only audio codecs listed are MPEG1 Audio & AC3 Audio. Any suggestions how to install the missing E-AC3 Audio, AAC Audio & HE-AAC Audio?

  ffmpeg Question RTSP to HLS
Posted by: Brucek2839 - 2022-02-02, 08:28 PM - Forum: Extras - Replies (82)

Hello,
I am starting to master the use of ffmpeg and have run into a error with the following script.  The RTSP stream works fine in ffplay.  From the script is looks to connect to the camera but I am stumped by the no output file error.  Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Bruce

  mutter mumble swear win10 networking
Posted by: Jaggy - 2022-02-02, 02:32 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (10)

I have been running peer to peer networking since the dos days & never had much problems (apart from one batch of network cards that had the jumper config printed on the card that was wrong) but since two different clean installs (on two different computers) of the 20021/22 w10 (over the last year) & both of them not always being visible to each other, more often not visible than visible yet mostly always visible by my old NextPVR server which is running w10 upgraded from a long(ish) time installed w7 install I am just about at my wits end. I have spent hours with google search & tried a heap of stuff about network discovery but all to no improvement.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can't access live TV stream on port 8866 (Windows 10)
Posted by: itm2 - 2022-02-01, 11:56 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (1)

I run NextPVR v4.2.5 on a Windows 10 machine. I can access live TV fine using the NextPVR client on the host machine, but I can't access the live TV stream from VLC Player on another Windows 10 machine on the LAN.
I'm using this as the network stream URI in VLC:
http://192.168.1.230:8866/live?channel=1

VLC doesn't report an error, but it doesn't connect to the video stream (I just get the scrolling orange bar in the status bar at the bottom).
I have the web server option enabled on the NextPVR host machine, on port 8866.
I have explicitly allowed both the NextPVR program and port 8866 through the Windows firewall on the NextPVR host machine, and have no other AV software installed on that machine.

Any ideas?

  IPTV Channel creation
Posted by: Brucek2839 - 2022-02-01, 01:49 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (1)

Hello,
I have time on my hands again due to being winter here and I would like to revisit the idea of creating a IPTV channel from my IP Camera.  I Have found this item on line and think this is what I need or should I continue researching the use of ffmpeg?  Keep in mind I am not a computer genius just know enough to make me dangerous.  Below is the item I found on line plus a couple videos I found using ffmpeg with xampp software.

Can't get off the 'Installation Information Version 1.2.1' screen
Posted by: Benoire - 2022-02-01, 01:25 AM - Forum: Android - Replies (7)

Hi

Just trying out NPVR and android TV after years of Kodi+TVheadend.  I've sideloaded the app on to my Sony x95G Android TV but I can't progress from the Installation Information Version 1.2.1 screen.  When I choose 'select server' I don't have any servers available but NPVR is setup, running and I'm able to watch streams from the webclient.  I have a pincode set in application access and access over the internet ticked... A manual configuration doesn't connect either.

Everything is fully wired between the devices so no wireless issues or subnet issues to worry about...

Am I missing something really obvious like a go button that is not showing??

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

What does the Android TV client offer over Kodi?
Posted by: Benoire - 2022-02-01, 12:10 AM - Forum: NextPVR Android Client - Replies (8)

Hi folks & Sub

I've finally setup NextPVR on to my NAS using docker and I have to say its still a wonderful piece of software, especially with the NZ IPTV streams.. solves my issue of no UHF arial and no HD from our Satellite streams.  Next issue is to setup the client on my Android TVs (Nvidia Shields and Sony TVs).  I used to use Kodi with TVheadend and it worked fine and wondered what the native client does that Kodi doesn't?

I'm not concerned about the cost, I'm happy to contribute to the costs of developing systems such as this but wanted to know if I'm better just 'contributing' rather than buying the app?

Thanks,

Chris
