Hi, I just set up NextPVR on a Raspberry Pi 4B, HDHomerun Duo and Roku TV. I am so impressed by how much nicer the NextPVR interface is than the HDHomerRun app. However. When I'm watching a channel with marginal reception (a little pixelated but totally viewable) The Stream stops and displays the error: "-5 malformed data" then goes back to the NextPVR menu. I think this might be just with the Roku App. But it could be more general.
Here is the NextPVR log: <pre> 2022-02-08 18:47:28.607 [DEBUG][16] checking: HDHomeRun 10909745-1 2022-02-08 18:47:28.607 [DEBUG][16] enabled and present 2022-02-08 18:47:28.607 [DEBUG][16] has channel 2022-02-08 18:47:28.607 [DEBUG][16] live tv is possible 2022-02-08 18:47:28.607 [DEBUG][16] HDHomeRunRecorder.StartStream() 2022-02-08 18:47:28.607 [DEBUG][16] ipaddress is 192.168.0.102 2022-02-08 18:47:28.607 [DEBUG][16] building graph 2022-02-08 18:47:28.607 [DEBUG][16] About to load channel from tuning 2022-02-08 18:47:28.609 [DEBUG][16] source@1 2022-02-08 18:47:28.609 [DEBUG][16] Requesting: http://192.168.0.102:5004/tuner1/v11.1 2022-02-08 18:47:29.032 [DEBUG][16] Creating writer: LIVE&/home/pi/recordings/live-WBALDT-432-2.ts 2022-02-08 18:47:29.032 [DEBUG][4] HTTP input source starting 2022-02-08 18:47:29.032 [DEBUG][16] live mode 2022-02-08 18:47:29.033 [DEBUG][16] Created Mutex: Global\NPVR-mutex-e7641132f8f8e2ec5a2ee2615b1a68cd 2022-02-08 18:47:29.034 [DEBUG][16] Created map: /home/pi/recordings/live-WBALDT-432-2.ts.map 2022-02-08 18:47:29.034 [DEBUG][16] StartStream [LIVE&/home/pi/recordings/live-WBALDT-432-2.ts] allocated handle: 2 2022-02-08 18:47:29.034 [DEBUG][16] StartStream() returned handle=2 2022-02-08 18:47:29.034 [DEBUG][16] Allocated Handle: 2 2022-02-08 18:47:29.034 [DEBUG][16] Live TV handle: 0x160002 2022-02-08 18:47:29.034 [DEBUG][16] StartStream(7164:WBALDT, LIVE&/home/pi/recordings/live-WBALDT-432-2.ts) allocated handle: 1441794 2022-02-08 18:47:29.034 [DEBUG][16] Handle: 160002 2022-02-08 18:47:29.034 [DEBUG][16] StreamNative@9 (storing stream handle: 1441794) 2022-02-08 18:47:29.034 [DEBUG][16] clientHandle[sdl-e8a2288b-2e9f-5ba0-9255-a5fa77f061bb] = 1441794 * 2022-02-08 18:47:29.234 [DEBUG][16] StreamNative@10 (with close monitoring...) 2022-02-08 18:47:29.234 [DEBUG][16] RollingFile.Open(/home/pi/recordings/live-WBALDT-432-2.ts) .. 2022-02-08 18:47:29.237 [DEBUG][16] File is in live mode 2022-02-08 18:47:29.239 [DEBUG][16] Renew lease ok (0x160002) 2022-02-08 18:47:29.241 [DEBUG][16] Renew lease ok (0x160002) 2022-02-08 18:47:34.242 [DEBUG][16] Renewed lease... Channel scan of Hauppauge WinTV-DualHD usb tuner does not find Prime, Maori TV, Parliament TV, Al Jazeera maybe a few more more. Does anyone with experience of New Zealand environment know what's happening here?
I setup a Ubuntu 20.4 instance with a single tuner card. I can scan channels and tune into various stations but am not able to get the epg data to populate.
I did some searching and think i might have a permissions issue, I opened up the perms for the nextpvr user account on /opt/nextpvr and restarted but still no data.
I also made sure the live buffer and default record paths were valid and able to be accessed by the nextpvr user account.
Questions -
- From what i have seen this data should be saved in epg.xml? can someone tell me where this file should live on Linux so i can double check permissions?
- I have an active SD account, I added the login info and saved but still no data.. i think this is due to the first issue
- I read somewhere that OTA epg data is not supported on linux, is this still the case?
I just wanted to play around with Nextpvr. I set it up on a headless Linux server (Ubuntu 20.04). But now I'm a little stuck as I can't access the WebUI. When I enter admin/password in login screen it shows "remote access is not enabled".
For sure there's a workaround for this, but I can't fine anything about it via google. Could somebody help me out please?
I tried upgrading to 5.2.6 from 5.2.0 and it failed. NextPvr Icon in tray never went green. Stayed grey. Web app Logn In always failed. Invalid login.
Restored from back up to 5.2.0 and now that version won't work. Web app will not connect. Desktop app flashes 'Unable to connect to remote sever'. TV Guide information is there but click on Watch does not bring up live TV. Clicking on Live TV brings up EPG in background but no live TV. Icon in system tray will turn green but then turn grey. Sometimes I get a message: "To many automatic redirections were attempted.
Any ideas on how to get 5.2.0 running again or get a successful update to 5.2.6?
sub,
I've updated to the latest release. The screen is darker during playback, sometimes not right away. Both old and newer recordings. It's like that problem a while back where I would pause and the entire screen would be darker.

I've been having problem choosing shows from the guide to record. I am able to choose the show and set up the frequency and the padding but it will not save. I've updated to the latest Windows release but I have the same issue. I am running Win 10 and the log files are attached.
Very new to NextPVR so my apologies if i have missed the obvious. How do I terminate an in progress recording? I am starting recordings in the EPG (usually in web interface rather than desktop app) which start almost immediately even if the programme is half through. How can I stop a recording that is in progress without cancelling the recording, i.e. i only want to record a programme part, stopping midway through and not waiting for the end, when the EPG will stop the recording.
