I recently started putting my PC (HP d530, WinXP pro) to sleep (not hibernate; 45 min time out). It successfully woke after a few tests and a few actual recordings, I saw no problems so I decided to quit watching. Unfortunately today (Sunday) it was supposed to record 4 shows from about 6pm to 10pm, but it didn't wake at all. It did wake and properly update EPG at 11pm (never seen a problem with that). A test I ran around 12am (Monday) worked just fine too.
Is there a way to go about tracking why it wasn't properly woken this evening?
OK -- first. I've been following the Hauppauge HD PVR on May 1 thread as well, and problems here may relate to issues discussed there. But I'll post here anyway, since this is the support forum and all.
First, attaching logs.
Second, the symptoms. Well, not many actually. We press play, screen blanks, moment later, the GUI returns. I could see no sign of an error in the log, but I don't necessarily know for what I'm looking.
We -DID- in fact have the new HDPVR drivers (with 5.1 support) installed, but have since rolled back to the previous drivers. So, in theory, the new drivers shouldn't be an issue. But I'm not making any promises.
I'm next going to go hunting for an application that we can use to check the "program_info_len" field (as mentioned in the linked thread) ourselves to determine if that is the problem. Meanwhile, any thoughts that any might have on the issue would be appreciated.
Fairly often I get a crash during playback of an MPG file. I was having trouble that PVRX2 would crash while idle so I have been closing the app and my recordings work fine. I have been using VLC for playback which seems to work fine. I tried to load net 3.5sp1 but it kept crashing so I have removed back to net 2. and now was able to load net 3.5sp1. I'll report back if this helped. The error message in the log is:

I've started digging into going HD. I know, I'm behind. What can I say, summers are busy. I currently have 3 MVPs and they, in combination with GBPVR, are what makes my PVR system great. I emailed Hauppauge earlier this year about an HD MVP and got the response that they are "working on it". Has anyone heard any rumblings regarding an HD MVP from Hauppauge?
I was reading several threads here on NMTs and am wondering if this is the route to go. Any comments? Any thoughts on which is best? Looks like there's more than a 1/2 dozen different manufacturers, are all supported by GBPVR?
Having trouble with my Grey's Anatomy season 2 DVDs, ripped to mkv containers. There is soundtrack sound and video, but no dialogue.
Running graphedit shows the following:
Mux: Haali
Audio Filter: AC3filter
Video Filter: Hauppauge NonCSS
Audio Renderer: Default
Video Renderer: VMR9 Custom
Playing from within graphedit exhibits the same symptoms as in GBPVR. Media Player Classic exhibits the same behavior as GBPVR, as you would expect.
VLC will play it when the audio stream is set to stereo or mono but not 5.1 or anything else. I am outputting sound via SB Live Digital SPDIF to an Onkyo 606 av receiver.
I've tried the PowerDVD 8 and Hauppauge nonCSS audio decoders, no luck so far.
This should be a simple question. If I have my DVB card connected to an SW21 switch and each input in the switch is connected to a different LNB, how is this setup in config app. I was told that I need to create a capture source for each LNB. I have added 2, one for each sat, but the simple question is, wht do I give as device number? Are they both 1 or different numbers?
I was playing a video from the "Video Library" and when I tried to stop it, pvrx2 hangs. I looked in the log and found this.

Had to kill pvrx2 to recover. Full log attached. This is a brand new PC with a clean install of 1.2.13.
There are 3 settings in the config app for Multidec.
1. Enable Multidec plugin support.
This one is pretty obvious.
2. Record out-of-process.
I have read the wiki and understand it, but not clear why you would NOT want this enabled? Is sounds like I can have simultaneous recordings from the same sourse. Does it not work in certain situations? I am using Twinhan 102G for BEV. Can I use this? What are the restrictions.
3. Reuse MDAPI filter
Can't find any docs on this.
