When I'm watching TV in Preview mode and then hit pause to switch to buffered mode, the screen goes dark for several seconds before coming back with the paused image and red play bar at the top. This seems rather unpolished.

Perhaps the program could grab a still image at the moment the pause button is pressed, and display that until the buffering system is ready to take over? I realize the final buffered paused image will be different frame than the still, so the picture will jump a bit as the play bar comes up. But I think that would be far preferrable to a blank screen.

i have recently downloaded and installed gbpvr. when i go to select live t.v. it will not give me a picture (black screen) or the the screen will be very choppy. i am new to this program so any sugestions would be great. i have tried a couple of different decoders with no positive results.

I upgraded to the newest version of GBPVR but in the tv guide I cannot see the channel numbers and the station name. Like for instance in previous versions of GBPVR in the tv guide it would show "12 KSGX" . Then after the install of the new version it showed just channel numbers so I restarted everything and the services and now all I see is the title showing in the TV guide. So in the example above all i see is KSGX. Anyone have any ideas on how to rectify that?

Would there be benefit in having a button in the 'recordings' menu to allow you to clear a watched flag?

The flag comes on regardless of you have completed watching or just watched 10 seconds.

It would be nice if when starting a recording you could get an OSD giving some details on the video format. (maybe a separate 'info' button?)

There are so many formats that it is difficult to know what you are actually watching at any given time.

This might help with troubleshooting hardware comparisons etc.

i have been trying unsuccessfully to get clear qam channels through comcast on my new hvr-2250. someone in a hauppauge forum told me to quite trying to use the junk they package with their tuners (wintv) and to use this gbpvr as a viewer for tv. i know nothing about any of this software and was hoping you might give me some basic info.

i noticed there are some downloads at the beginning of the thread that i probably am looking for, but i don't have a previous version and and i'm not sure i know anything about the .net 2.0 something or other that's mentioned.

I bought an MVP on e-bay a while back and just got to trying to use it today. The seller apparently sent me the wrong power supply. It doesn't fit and says 12v output. The MVP says 6v input, but how many amps? Can someone please look at the power supply on theirs and let me know. I want to see if I can get something close at Radio Shack.

I am using GBPVR with a twinhan 1020a and a DP Twin lnb. I have had some trouble picking up channels on birds 110 and 119. I have tweaked the following settings:

1.BDA Advanced window: checked Ignore PMT CRC errors during scan and "Parse DishNetwork..."

2. In the config file, tweaked the following settings:
BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds: between 1 and 5
" " WaitSeconds: between 10 and 60
Set not to ignore audio and hidden channels.

Does someone have settings that have worked particularly well for them? Much appreciated.

1) Could you please add an 'Apply' option to the config tool (i.e apply current changes without closing config tool). If I only went into the config tool once or twice, not a big issue, but I have been in and out of this tool literally many dozens of times trying different decoders, renderers and other settings, trying to get my system stable. It's very frustrating that I have to start it up every time I've tried a new setting.

2) It's not possible to see the full name of the H.264 decoder I've chosen (and if there is more than 1 with a similar name it's hard to distinguish between them (see TruncatedText.jpg).

3) Checkboxes have opaque backgrounds making some of the screens ugly (not a big issue, but distracting) - see Appearance.JPG

GBPVR use to scan my clear qam channels completely fine until a few months ago. Now it skips past them, but I just never changed the mapping so I did not have a problem.

Well I just tried to fix another issue with GBPVR and all my settings were gone, I tried a system restore and still could not get back to what I needed. So now I have no other option than to reinstall GBPVR and reconfigure my cards and settings. The only problem is it is not picking up those HD channels I was watching this morning with GBPVR.

I am sure they are kind of weak in strength so that may have something to do with it.
