I know this is a stupid question, but I can't decide which is more logical. Do tuner 1 and 2 use the single "TV IN" connector or is tuner 2 on the "FM IN" connector?

Hi everyone. Been a while since I've been here. Mainly due to personal reasons, but also due to the fact my setup has been working fine and remains working.

Anyway I bought a netgear EVA8000. Reason was I was going to get a HD TV and was attracted by the upscaling capabilities, the ability to play vobs and divx. divx so so (sometimes jerky), vobs no longer, need the ifo file. upscaling never got to try, didn't get the TV!

Well after spending £200 - verdict?

mvp and mvpmc and gbpvr win hands down. Don't get me wrong there are some nice features on the EVA8000. But even for basic playing video over the shared directories, the mvpmc wins. Ah well you don't know how good it is until you waste money elsewhere!

btw I am still on 0.99.5 and using the mvpmc (mallavend version). Need to upgrade at some point.

After 2 RMA's I have a unit that's been working well for a few weeks now.

I had been using Tim Moore's firestb to change the channels on my Moto DCT6200 with only a couple of quirks. Twice I noticed that the channel failed to change when a recording started - somehow PC lost track of the Panel Device - unplugging Firewire cable & re-inserting resolved it.

After the second time, I decided to use the HaupBlast command (although the firewire channel changes were smoother, I was hoping for reliability). No sooner had I switched to using the blaster, I got an all audio recording - something I hadn't experienced since I switched to firestb.

1) Has anyone else noticed they have to re-insert their firewire cable on occasion
2) Has anyone else noticed a connection between HaupBlast & failed/bad recordings on their HDPVR?

I've switched back to firewire & have just made a habit of periodically issuing a channel command (assuming nothing is recording) to make sure my PC still sees the box. Not a huge issue, but just wanted to know if anyone else noticed these things.

So I just got my Hauppauge HDPVR, and it works great with the supplied arc soft software. Getting it to work with GBPVR, however, has been more difficult than I thought it. For some reason, I get no sound with live TV. It’s the same with every channel, whether it’s HD or SD. My source is my set top box from AT&T u-verse.

Stuff I record with the arc soft software works fine. I can hear the sound and everything. I have all sorts of files in my video collection, and they all work great when played back in GBPRV. I have my TV hooked up to the component/audio out ports on the back of the HDPVR, so I’m sure the audio is working.

Right now, I have all the audio decoding options set to system default. All of the advanced audio decoders are set to the arc soft decoders. On a side note, I just found out that I'm not hearing anything from the internet radio either.

My current system is running 1 pvr-150 (w/hauppage remote), but I would like to add a second tuner card. The problem is, I want a card that will last me a long time. I am looking at adding a single card with 2 tuners built on. I will be using a set-top digital box (Rogers). As far as I know, there are no plans in Canada to make free to air HD tv (I may be wrong 'cause I havn't really looked into it). What is the best card solution for me. I am planning on using 1 of the tuners to control the STB and the second one to plug straight into the cable (I believe rogers cable is all digital signal now). I don't mind purchasing an HD compatable card, I do not have HD as of yet, but I know I will have it down the road. As I said, I already have the remote/ir blaster, so I guess an OEM card will do me, but I don't mind if I pick up a spair (I can always reuse the pvr-150 in another system or to control a second STB in the future).

I hope this is enough info to go on.

The question I have is,

Once I have recordered a tv show I would like to play the show on my tv in my lounge room.Which usaully is played by my mediagate mg-450hd,the problem I have is that gb-pvr must record tv in a different format than my mg-450hd will reconise.Is it possible to change my output format of gb-pvr files,to maybe avi format or any format my mediagate will play ???


Pss Iam new to this site so if it is possible please let me know of the most simplest way to do it as I am not very technically minded !

I'm new on NMT and GB PVR, so please tolerate me.

Every thing is done A per the Martin's instruction (telnet is ok as well pvrx2 is running in my computer) but unfortunatly when I run,
/etc/mvpmc/mvpmcx2 -m 720 --frequency 60 --emulate 192.168.0.1

TV screen flashes and then black screen! I cheked every thing, I read all the posts but found nothing to help me, I can not undrestand what is wrong with my setting! might be the matter of egreat!?

Computer and NMT are connected to gether thru a D-link switch,
Computer IP is 192.168.0.1
NMT IP is 192.168.0.99

I attached the logfile , please help me.

Just installed the 1.2.13 on a dev machine and the settings plugin keeps kicking me out. I enter the plugin and can barely see what's on the screen then it kicks me out back to the main menu.

I don't see any entries to the right of the sub menu if that helps. If I go really fast I can navigate the submenu.

On 99.12 I get a weird case which I'm not sure is in the latest version, but when I have multiple shows recording and the first one is shorter than the second, I find that the first show doesn't go to the what's new screen right away. The weirder thing is that when I navigate in the pending recordings, the selection keeps jumping back to the top (like it's always refreshing).

I am trying to setup gbpvr to run on my Windows Home Server (HP MediaSmart) and streaming to my iSTAR. I thought I had everything setup correctly, but I am getting the "REQUEST can not be processed error". Here is my setup:

- Created NFS share on my WHS. Share is C:\mvpmc
- WHS server name is xiserver, ip is 192.168.2.200
- Followed instructions on editing script.cgi, telnet.html, and startup

I can see the NFS share on my iSTAR and it is called xiserver::mvpmc. When I go to the share on the istar and click on the 4 icon (not movies, music, or photos) I get the Request can not be processed error. Here are my files:

Do I have to change the [SMB] to [NFS] since I am using NFS? I have tried this but it doesn't seem to work. Also, since my iSTAR lists the share as xiserver::mvpmc I have tried adding the extra : to telnet.html

Any thoughts?
