I currently have a Pentium M 1.6 in a MSI Speedster FA-4 motherboard as my HTPC system. I am currently sort of thinking about adding a DVB-S2 card for BBC HD. I am thinking of giving my system a bit of a boost and picking up a 2.0 ghz pentium m off ebay.
Anyone know if this upgraded CPU would have much of an impact on my systems performance and would it be enough to play back BBC HD.
Hi I have a script that does a few things to the database and is run from updateEPG and postUpdateEPG. I think the script works but....
Is there any issue (and what is the way round it) for a script called in this way accessing the database?
Is PVRX2 prevented from accessing the databaise when these batch files are running?
I also noticed this on the latest release:
added a 'watched' indicator in the recordings screen
Thanks sub that is exactly what I'm looking for, I assume its in the database is it a flag on the playback position? Has the database structure changed.
I know there are several posts on why custom tasks aren't available on a client machine but wondered if it was possible to add it to a future release. Not sure if this is an easy mod or whether it's 'hard coded' for ever into the way the DB is shared between the client and server.
I have a hauppage 500mce recieving 1-3 Maori and Prime
I have just finished resetting up my hauppauge nova-s + and can tune all channels
Now the weirdness, I can not view tv2 or tv3 from the satelite but only the analogue versions. In config I can got to the individual tuners and see all channels but in the final channel list there is only one instance of tv2 and tv3, I assume this is because the naming convention is the same as their satelite counterparts (tv1 is tv One on sat) but Maori tv still appears twice.
The other wierd thing is I am not getting some of the channel logos for the freeview channels but not a major.
The reason I want to be able to see both versions is sometimes we record both tv2 and tv3 at the same time, last night for example. So I can't just disable the analogue channels as this would not allow me to record 2 and 3 from one sat card.
I would like to be able to watch the live broadcasts of the Tour de France on ITV4 but this is only available on Sky via the 'red button' service (ITVi?). Is this something that is available on my Blackgold DVBS tuner?

I've noticed that there is an open source project for MHEG5 support on windows (UK teletext, NZ interactive services - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MHEG-5).
As it is written in C#.NET it might be easily integratable with GBPVR using managed/unmanaged code structs
Only thing is that its GPL3, but I'd take that to mean you publish any integration changes, not the whole of GBPVR. If its a real problem it might be easier to use it as an external program that links in.
I'v been fiddling with the NetRadio in order to add the Norwegian channels (that I don't find at ShoutCast), and finally managed to do so. During this process I discovered that GBPVR only cares about the first entry in a .pls-file in the NetRadio directory. Why is that? Would it not be cleaner to gather all favourite stations in a single file?
Another issue: Some stations har begun broadcasting 5.1 sound in WMA-format, which currently is the only stream supporting multichannel sound. Is it possible to add this format to NetRadio and perhaps flag these channels as unavailable for the MVP's?
Btw: Attached is a file with the major Norwegian netradio channels.
i have installed a happauge t 500 card and configered it without any problems. i quickly discovered how poor the happauge software is , and was directed to GB-PVR as the alternative of choice.
My problem is having installed GB-PVR I appears that several channels that were previously available are now missing from the scanned list.
I am new to "PVR world" so any guidance would be appreciated

I've tried to connect with both a Vista and an XP machine using IE 7.
When I try to connect, I get the standard IE page "IE cannot display the webpage"
If I click the 'Diagnose Connection Problems"
"I get Windows has confirmed -- online not responding -- Windows has confirmed that Windows Firewall on this computer is correctly configured to allow this connection."
Anyway, the Firewall is turned off on the PVR machine, I've installed no other security software on it (as of yet.) It's a (fairly) fresh machine -- a Compaq factory refurbish with the Trial version of Norton uninstalled as well as most of the rest of the bloat 'free and trial-ware' that came installed.
..I've also allowed the service to interact with the desktop, but that didn't help either

Is there a way to set/check the decoders used for playing files in the Video Library section. I have a bunch of DVD's that I converted to Divx format. The video plays fine within PVRX2 but there is no audio. When I play the file on my client pc, the audio works but there is no video. Both pc's play the file fine using VLC.
