Seeing as mpeg2 decoding is probably the trickiest thing to get sorted in a pvr, I thought i'd try a poll on what people are using.

added the 10 i though most common - or have i missed out the best one?

The default images are 720x480, is there a skin available for HD (HD-ready) displays?

Ok - I've finally put one of my Hauppauge Nova-T-500 Cards in my lounge pc - I have two cards but the one I'd never taken out of the box turned out to be a dud so its going back for replacement. So I'm currently running 1 Nova-T-500 and one WinTV 500mce.

My problem is with playback of the H264 stuff. If I run Mux Checker it reports I don't have one at all. I have PowerDVD8 installed and recordings playback fine in that. Windows Media player won't playback at all - It simply freezes on the first frame and doesn't progress. If I select TS Mux I can playback in GBPVR with mixed results - TV1,2 and C4 play well, keep sync but after a while we find we have trouble skipping backward and forward - The short skips with the FFWD and RWD buttons do odd things like going forward instead of backward and the 1 minute back (I have the skip buttons set to 60 seconds) doesn't work, if I hold it down it will start skipping back 1 second at a time. Full TS seems to behave the same. DVR-MS doesn't play, it behaves like Windows Media Player and simply freezes on a frame.

Is the MUX used for Mux and DeMux? I thought from the documentation that the MUX related to recordings?

I'm using the Monogram AAC Decoder version 0.9.5.0 and the GBPVR TS Reader.

I'm also having problems with the Audio being a little out on TV3 recordings - when I was recording using the same Nova-T-500 in a different (Old P4 1.6) in the Garage they played back fine in the Lounge -does this indicate its the Mux I'm using to record?

Where do I start to tweak this! I'm using a 9600GT with 512mb and recordings play with very low CPU.

Just installed the latest version of GBPVR on my Main Computer and Laptop, with the laptop connecting quite happily over a wireless connection.

When viewing live TV on the client, however, the program is very choppy and doesn't play smoothly at all. When wired with an ethernet cable the problem
goes away.

What's bothering me though, is that if I use the client to tell the main machine to start a recording, and then leave it a few seconds whilst the main machine starts to record the program, and then using the wireless laptop to navigate to my shared recordings folder, I can quite happily use VLC player to watch the recording as it happens, only a few seconds behind the actual program.

To me this proves that the wireless network is good enough to stream the video, but asking GBPVR to do it ends up with a choppy program.

Any ideas anyone ?

• Plugin - Enable play (remote or keyboard (ctrl-p)) of target entry on any field regardless of which screen in plugin.
  
• Plugin - Allow user to select either Categories or Entries list for initial focus when MovieWiz activates. (MWConfig 'Plugin Settings')
  
• Plugin - When in Client Mode, allow user to set a program to run when MovieWiz activates. This will be useful to run WOL to startup the server. (MWConfig 'Settings(2)')

This is going to be a tough one i know.

I've been modifying my settings for other reasons, and this issue has plagued me throughout. Some of my recordings end up with choppy video and audio. then, some do not.

This occurs on every channel sometimes, then not.
This occurs with dvr-ms mux as well as ATI MUX
Signal strength is always overkill (over did it with antenna)
It occurs at any time range for any recording.
It occurred before I installed the K-lite pack, and it occurrs after as well.

This one is important. I can watch a show Live no problem, but the scheduled recording of it may be messed up. Or actually i know i was taping a show, I made a config change in the middle of it and didn't care if i interrupted the show, so i let it restart the recording service. the last part of that show exibits the choppyness. It doesn't skip any video, it doesn't skip any audio, it just puts a .5 second pause in the middle of the playback. My processor is at less than 20% at playback, Disk is at mimimal, as well as memory pages per second. ONCE in a blue moon, the video will correct, and the disk will raise up higher, but this is suspect is when there is more to read? I don't know...

Then, a recording will record fine which throws a wrench into my troubleshooting.

My processor is a P4 HT 2.8, with 800FSB. It never seems maxed out (I've run taskmgr always on top, in the corner.)

I've logged disk activity to ensure the queue isn't maxing out and it is able to keep up, even when two recordings are going at once etc.

I've also set a Defrag application to run only at IDLE times to ensure the recordings aren't fragmented. It is aware of CPU utilization / disk utilization and runs when below 10%.

Where can i start, or what is left?

I'm running 1.2.13.

The Recording Status GUI window is cut short. I cannot see what's recording on my 2nd tuner. I thought it was because i had the font in Display to 125dpi instead of the default 96, but no change when I tried putting it back to 96.

Title says it all, did anyone record the tradewars episode on Monday the 7th of july on tv2, I was supposed to record it and forgot.

If anyone could help me I would reimburse for costs for a cd and delivery.

Yes I know it's been asked for before and sub has said not likely but what the heck, no harm in trying lol!

I always put my HTPC into hibernate at night.

Since installing GBPVR, it is out of hibernate and up and running every morning, and I cannot work out why.

I only use GBPVR for media playback, I do not use the PVR functionality at all, although, I have yet to figure how to disable this element.

Any ideas?
