Just upgraded to 1.2.13. This doesn't look like the crash described in the survival guide. Logs attached.

Just tried to install a new HVR-900 with gbpvr. Installed the drivers and then ran config to install the HVR-900.


Did capture source/add digital recording plugin
Setting chose HVR-900/Country New Zealand/Mt Kau Kau

EPG source chose DVB EPG

Clicked okay and then clicked Map digital channels to EPG Channels

Get message gbpvr was unable to start the BDA device etc

And then there is a .net error

I installed WinTV and it found all the analogue and digital channels okay so the card appears to be installed okay.

Any ideas?

I record in MPEG2. Playback in GBPVR is fine. If I play back the file on my main PC then it also seems fine. However if I play it back on say my linux laptop then I occasionally get lipsync issues (out by upto a few seconds). Also similar issues on a linux based media player (MivX). And when I tried to re-encode it during an author of a DVD the resultant file had really bad sync issues. Also reauthoring to AVI, WMV had issues. Perhaps I am using a dodgy encoder?
Where do you tell GBPVR what MPEG2 encoder to use? And does anyone have a recommendation as to the best one?

OK, I got my new HVR1800 and am in QAM hell. WinTV finds all of my locals, but using the default scan on gbpvr, I only get a couple and tons of unknowns (that don't work) I have tried the QAM.INI files posted with no love. Looking at the files in the ATSC file, it looks like the frequencies are a lot different for those in the HVR1600 folder. Does the HVR1800 use the HVR1600 folder? or ??? also when I scan, I get 100% quality on some scans, but -7000 strength..:confused:

Any ideas?

Two things I've noticed - before I just assumed it was because my old PC was quirky (the thing ran ~55C just about all the time - I think Pentium D's tended to run hot), but I get the same thing on my new machine:

1) When I click exit on PVRX2, I get a popup window saying that PVRX2 encountered an exception & asks if I want to report the issue - usually I just click "No" because I'm exiting the program anyway.

2) If I attempt to update recurring recordings that were originally scheduled via the EWA, PVRX2 recycles - I work around this by just deleting the recordings & rescheduling.

Neither is a show stopper & it wouldn't really even bother me if this never got fixed - I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered either issue.

UPDATE: I didn't post any logs because A) I'm at work now & B) I'm not necessarily pressing for a fix unless other people have the same issue & want it fixed. I can upload logs if sub (or anyone else) feels like taking a look.

My login name and password are both correct. I registered yesterday night, so maybe the schedulesdirect system didnt have the time to log me in?

After I upgraded to the new version 1.2.13, I am not able to play video anymore?

It is just returning to the previously menu. In MVP the whole application restarts.

The video files can be played perfectly in Windows Media Player.

All other functions are working properly, Photo, Music and Live TV

New User of gbpvr (less than a week and was just getting to setting up some of the finer things tonight, Channel Logos. They where working until The ChannelLogo Tool Crashed. Now none of the logos are displayed. Any Ideas?

I'm using a clean build of 1.2.13 from the front page of the website on an MVP.

Problem is, when I'm in LiveTV mode, I can't change the channel by typing the channel number on the remote. I'm forced to use channel up and channel down (which work great, but are uneffective for switching to my normal channels).

I read somewhere that I should try typing the channel number and hitting OK, but that doesn't work. It simply doesn't do anything.

Any ideas or fixed build somewhere?

I am still testing out the new interface. I am playing a DVD that has a 4:3 aspect ratio, it plays fine in the old interface, but not in the new interface. The picture is zoomed in with PVRX2. The resolution for the dvd is 720x480 which is reported correctly in the old interface, but appears to be different in the new one (looking at the log). I also have overscan setttings for my TV if that matters. Logs attached
