Basically if you save the code as elevate.js in your path, it lets you run programs at a elevated admin level in vista, sort of like a sudo command in linux.
For example to get an administrator command prompt, assuming you are running as Administrator, it's just

It comes in handy from time to time and I've never had to turn UAC off.
I have been looking around for a free media centre software. Came across - Media Portal - but it wouldnt install/work properly - so threw that away. Then I found this gb-pvr - which installed nicely - so I need to do is set it up.
Unfortunately it doesnt recognised my tv-tuner card - Winfast DVR3200 H - it has PCI-e interface and mpeg2 Hardware encoding.
System setup:
Win XP SP2
AMD LE1600
1gig RAM
500G HDD x 2
onboard graphics..NVIDIA GeForce6100 - I think
WinFast PxDVR3200 H - tv tuner.
so what do i do need to do , to get this card to work with gb-pvr. I am currently at work, so once I get home, I can give more information.
Is the CPU good enough - or should I get AMDx2 - 4800+ or something like that..if I do..do I need to reinstall the XP as well?

CPU/Processor AMD AM2 Athlon 64x2 Dual Core 4850e (2.5GHz/45w) - $99AUD
Is it worth it? Main question though regards to tv-tuner and how to setup with Gb-pvr.
IT work perfectly with LEadtek's software - no issues at all.
For some time now, PVR has frozen while watching a recorded program. Once I restart PVR, it will work fine. I have uninstalled all extra's, the recordings are going to one HDD, and the TV buffer is on another HDD. I have noticed that it even happens while we are recording a program and watching a different one back. This recently started happening, but no changes have been made to the computer. I updated to the latest version of GBPVR to see if that would fix it to no avail. Logs are attached...
Does anyone know if there is supposed to be a screen saver during mp3 playback on the PCH?
I am constantly turning my plasma on and off to avoid burn in.
I see the screen saver with the song title come on after i hit stop and it re-launches the GBPVR UI.
I still haven't upgraded, so this is 1.2.9 of march this year.
Apparently for no reason (I didn't knowingly change anything), the EPG no longer wants to update.

I am doing preliminary work on mvpmcx2 in case Syabas provides some help and I have got some questions on comskip and will need a lot of help from several of because I am not going to run comskip on my own files.
1. Sub, are there any gbpvr major issues in streaming mpeg-ts to the MVP with or without comskip ? I know the mvp only supports mpeg-ps so the parser might not even work. I am not planning on supporting a solution solely for a cyberlink mux to mpeg-ps.
2. How well is comskip working on HD mpeg-ts files for you in PVRx2?
3. Generally is it really worth supporting comskip? At least for HD I've heard it takes a really long time, and it makes the computer work and the software support isn't perfect, especially for h264 files. I am not even sure there is comskip for HD PVR files.
Samples needed to proceed. This is where I need the community's help. Several of your are going to need to provide me with 30 minute or longer samples with lots of commercial breaks of the following with a comskip file already made. I will even accept it from rapidshare and fight the cats, you need to provide the file and I will download.

I have noticed that when you stop playback on a TS file, then try to play it again, you can no longer skip ahead as the picture freezes, but the sound does progress. If I close PVXR2 and start it again, the TS file works again as it should.
Also, I cannot delete a TS file if it has been played. If I close PVRX2 and open again, the TS file will delete.
just found a post on aussie green button site which gives some reg keys similar to those changed by the cask of amontillado tweak tool for PVR 150/500's.

When I try to go back to the main menu from music library while playing a song, I get an error (I am using menu button on the remote). I have to force pvrx2 to shut down. This happens in more than one place. I have attached the error and the logs. Thanks.
