I searched and saw something similar was mentioned quite a while back, but the discussion quickly moved away from any talks of adding it...

Maybe I'm in the minority, but an extra button to transcode a recorded show, added to the normal play/delete/close options when you open up a specific recording would be extremely convenient. Being able to watch a show and then decide I want to transcode it for future viewing, or for others in the house rather than leave it uncompressed would be awesome.

I know I can transcode everything, a season recording, or go the back way through the video library for individual files, but this seems like a simple and common enough option that I thought I'd at least bring it up

Hello to all the German Guys who are using this lovely SW.

I live in Munich and like to ad a dvb-c card to my system. The cable provider is Kabel Media Service. As far as I`ve been told they are not using any coding on the channels including the private ones (RTL, SAT1 etc.). So this shouldn't be a problem. They are using QAM64 for modulation.

Is there any German user out there who could recommend a dvb-c card?
By the way my cpu isn't the fastest so if there is something like a HW support on the card that would be a plus.

I've just uploaded v2.5 of the TV Listings plugin at the wiki.

Changes include:

I'm wondering if anyone else here has the above motherboard with built in HD3200 graphics and has any issues with H.264 HD channels? I'm struggling to get stutter free playback on the BBC and ITV HD channels (DVB-S) using one of these with a 45w dual core 2.5Ghz AMD CPU. It's running on Vista Ultimate in 720p using EVR on GBPVR 1.2.13 - did the same on 1.2.9. HD will play back fine for a few mins, then stutter sometimes for a few seconds only, sometimes until I get annoyed. Changing the channel over and back often solves the problem for another few mins as can restarting PVRX2 - but equally sometimes it makes no difference. SD channels play fine - the news tickers are silky smooth at 720p. I've never got 1080i25 to work well (awful deinterlacing on the new tickers and worse HD stutter) and 1080p60 is even worse. 1080p50 is never offered and I've never sussed out how to get it to happen.

I installed the latest ATI 8.6 driver yesterday which made the interlacing on HD much worse. I've previously had perfect BBC HD playback using an inferier system (celeron 2.5Ghz, APG HD2600XT) but that was with 7.12 ATI drivers so maybe I should try them... I'm using the Cyberlink decoder, I've tried the version I got with the LG Blu-ray drive and the full retail 7.3 version and get the same results with both.

Just wondering if anyone has a similar setup and what combination of ATI drivers and video codec work best with HD playback. If you have any advice for 1080i or p50 I'd also be grateful!!

got my replacement back from Hauppauge & installed the new drivers today. Things seemed to be going well, but I just got a recording w/ no picture - only sound.

Anyone else still experiencing this?

UPDATE: Just had a recording quit ~30 seconds in - after that, it would not respond to anything until I powercycled the device. Has anyone has a succesfull RMA?

To continue our exchange re. hangups/delays when channel changing ...

I changed to <StopOnChannelChange>False</StopOnChannelChange> and the problem with changing between muxes reappeared ...

The attached logs show;

Play Radio 1 --- okay
Switch to Radio4 --- prompt response and plays okay (and it was the Shipping Forecast so that was an unplanned treat).
Switch to Virgin --- Now playing logo switches immediately but channel does not play.
Do nothing for 30 seconds then press OK on remote --- Virgin starts playing.

It may be that this is the same timing problem. I guess that it takes longer to switch between muxes than it takes to switch between channels on the same mux.

Let me know if there's anything else I can try.

When I try to stop a movie while watching it (and it does not matter if I use the stop or the Back Button), my mvp restarts and the screen with the message "contacting servers" appears. Then the GBPVR restarts. But when I try to start a video file now the mvp immediately restarts and the procedure starts all over again. I have to unplug the mvp to get it back to normal, sometimes I even have to restart my PC.
Can someone please help me with this...
